    Thank you! I just picked some up to clear our gravel roadways! I’m so tired of all the greenery in the rock. 😂😂😂

      Straight 1 gal vinegar 1/4tsp dish soap with dissolved 1/3c salt in sprayer on a hot sunny day is far safer than chemicals that leach down to ground water. Saturate down to the root zone to anbsorb and will last the whole season if done correctly.

    Hi! About a year late to your video, but thank you so much for reviewing our RM43 Total Vegetation Control! We appreciate you! 😁

    Looks like you got the same good results we did when we started using RM43 in 2020. We are also new retirees/ranchers in South Texas & learning as we go. That's a beautiful area you're filming from & great looking fence.👍

      Thanks for the comment and feedback on the results; I miss South Texas (Brownsville) and need to visit soon!

    Thanks for the video. I’m on my second year of using the RM43. I really like it too. I was using Roundup but it seemed like I was having to re-weed-eat and spray pretty quick and I don’t have time for that.
    The RM43 says it is supposed to work up to a year. I’ll be happy if it’s 6 or 7 months.,that’s all summer.

      Thanks for the comment and we really like the effectiveness of RM43 too. Temps are warming up here and we should be doing our 3rd/year application soon; always fighting time and mother nature!

      Did u use it straight or mix it with water

    • @pawsbrake
      @pawsbrake 2 роки тому

      @@thomasdace1154 It is about 6oz per gallon for "spot" treatment but I use that strength for everywhere I use it. Otherwise it says you can use a 7.5oz to 1-10 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft.

    Nice review. I just bought a GAl. of this RM43 and it's over a hundred bucks a gallon. Sprayed a couple days ago and am waiting for the results. Hope mine is as good as yours.Thanks.

      Thanks for the comment Joe and you're right, everything is getting more expensive. After we sprayed, it took about a week or so before we really saw results.

      The herbicide we are using is RM43 Total Vegetation Control made by Ragan & Massey and we are mixing 3.5 oz of this concentrate with 1 gallon of water. We are using a 45 gallon sprayer so we are mixing 1.25 gallons (~160 oz) of RM43 concentrate in the sprayer. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

    Rm43 is now $187 for 2.5 gals. Have you use it on dirt to try & keep the weeds from coming to begin with?
    I'm getting mixed messages on the rm43. Its suppose to kill the seeds to as I understood . Im getting ready to spray 1 acre oof dirt I dragged in August 2022.
    I use a 14 gal weed spray on wheels , pulling it behind my truck, which cost a lot in fuel. I can turn it off and on inside the truck using trailer light socket for power.
    Is the ground/weeds suppose to be damp when spraying? T4TV

    • @part-timeweekendrancher2983
      @part-timeweekendrancher2983  Рік тому +1

      Yes, it's expensive!!! I was able to recently purchase 4 2.5 gals from Home Depot for $151.19 each (the cheapest I've seen in years). From the company's website, it states that you can apply it to "bare ground" and the product has two active herbicides "glyphosate to kill the weeds and imazapyr to prevent new growth". I have sprayed it on spots of dirt/bare ground along the fence line and nothing grew in this year for some months. Yet I haven't used it over a larger dirt/bare ground area. Personally, I know it's expensive but it requires one application for the year versus bi-monthly weed whacking of the fence line; I just don't have time to manage this extra work/time. Let me (us) what way you go and best of luck.

    How many thousands of dollars in lumber did you buy to make that fence?

    Usually farmworks 41% glyphosate is a lot cheaper. Went up like crazy this year though! 120 something before taxes for 2.5 gallon. I usually mix mine "41%" 2- 3/4 oz per gallon. Have had great results. Just make sure you have a good dry day outside. Don't wanna waste it. Thanks for the video.

      So if I was to mix two gallons of water I will need to add about 6 Oz of RM43

    • @part-timeweekendrancher2983
      @part-timeweekendrancher2983  2 роки тому +2

      I've been using 1.25 gallons (~160 oz) of RM43 per the 45 gallon sprayer so that equals about 3.5 oz of RM43 per gallon.

      I know this is old but just for future people reading this RM43 has a pre emergent in it( Imazapyr) . It keeps things from coming back up for up to a year . It's not just glyphosate . 2.5 gallons of glyphosate Round pro can be had for 90.00 on amazon . RM43 is 160.00 for 2.5 gallons .

    Another Texan here. Do you know if RM43 kills the dirt? (Makes planting new desirable vegetation, grass, trees, etc no viable/possible) I just built a house and the area inside my parameter fence to keep the cattle out, I would like to kill all the weeds (especially stickers) and then bring in topsoil (2-3") and plant grass and put in a few Mexican Sycamore & Pecan trees) Thanks in advance!

    • @part-timeweekendrancher2983
      @part-timeweekendrancher2983  2 роки тому +3

      Fred, I’m a native Texan too (originally from Brownsville) and you ask a heck of a question. Information from the manufacture’s (Ragan & Massey) label/website states that application of RM43 kills vegetation for a year and may need to be reapplied 6-8 months depending on rainfall. I would say that this product isn’t a “true sterilizer” and in my past few applications of our fence line, vegetation always comes back yet not as pervasive in previously treated areas. I think if you spray it to kill the weeds/stickers this year and then let the ground rest for 8-12 months with no reapplication and mix in some inches of top soil, it should be fine to plant grass and a few trees. This is my opinion and I haven’t tried this but it seems reasonable; if you proceed, please leave a comment with the results because I’m sure others would like to know.

      Nope; according to the directions, once dried, it is safe to walk on. I also do not spray the fence lines where the cows are just incase they get spray drift.

      William, we are using a John Deere 45 Gallon Gator Poly Bed Sprayer (Item #LP20852). It comes with both a 43-inch boom that sprays a 10-foot swath (which we haven't used) and a 19 foot hand wand hose (which we have used). It was pretty easy to hook up to the gator's battery and all the accessory wiring harness came with it.

    why not use the salt water recipe it is cheap and last
    you just mix as much salt as the water will hold some use dish soap and vinegar but some people say all you needs is the salt water

      Interesting, I've heard about using dish soap and vinegar, even using diesel fuel, but hadn't heard about salt. We'll have to try that. Do you have to reply after so many weeks/months?
