@@YourreelmemoriesAu I had to charge my XR many times a day, this new phone is nearly double in terms of battery longevity throughout the day. Since my XR had low battery health, it’s more noticeable. And the screen is significantly better, and 5g is quicker. That being said, no one needs a new phone. We could all have flip phones and be fine, even. I’m glad you’re still enjoying your XR.
As they said 3 years ago. But seriously, I too have an iPhone 12 and am still very happy with it. Battery is starting to fade though. And the USB-C to Lightning charging cable is a must.
I’m waiting for the periscopic lens to upgrade from my 12 Pro Max. I really hope Apple does bring USB-C, but I can see them trolling us and introducing it on the iPhone.
Was blown away when I upgraded from iPhone 6 to iPhone X back in 2017 and it’s still going strong in 2022. I think next year will be my year to upgrade. 🎉
I love your take on when to upgrade. It actually is the best way to enjoy the tech we have, without the anxiety or FOMO setting in 🤦🏿♂️😂. It really is best to wait 3+ years, before you upgrade your smartphone, because of the things you mentioned in this video. I'm a tech nerd too, and enjoy having the latest technology to play with. But my 13 Pro and Pixel 6 Pro, will suffice me for a couple years. Maybe more. Now I watch tech videos to compare my "older tech" to the newer ones coming out this year, and you realize I'm wasting money upgrading so frequently. Just enjoy what you have, save some money up, and then do it again in a few years. Disregard if you're rich, and money is no object. Just pass the old phone on to someone else and save the planet 😎
Same, as a nerd I'd rather spend the money on something like an ultra and hold that for years to come. When I finally upgrade the phone the difference will be substantially. I'd hate to trade in a flagship phone too early only to not see a massive difference. having to wait years and years again for the chance too
My upgrade schedule is dictated by what phones no longer get the current iOS. I give mine and my wife’s old phones to family members and I keep one spare so this year I replaced my wife’s iPhone 11 with an iPhone 14 ProMax and gave her iPhone 11 to her mom who was using an iPhone 7.
I was using an iPhone 6 until a month or so ago, and it was two or three years off the upgrade path. It was surprisingly usable, despite newer software not being available. The old versions continued to work.
I'm still holding onto my iPhone 11 Pro. Waiting for that iPhone 15 Pro to hit with hopefully a USB-C charger to upgrade. And as you mentioned, I'll have a ton of new features that have been added over the last few years. I did replace the battery last week for $69 (nice) since it was at 78% capacity.
I had the 11 pro , then went to 13 pro max, honestly apart from the bigger screen , hardly any difference, camera’s virtually the same, 120hz barely noticeable,, just stick to the 11 pro mate 💯💯
I would keep my 11 pro max too but the problem is I have a cracked screen (not too bad) and replacing the battery means replacing/repairing the screens which is at least 250 bucks (glass replacement instead of whole panel).
Went from 7plus to 12pro max. As a pro photographer, it's all about the camera specs. 14 pro max is a no brainer. I ordered through my carrier who is offering a very generous trade in price. Thankful for your perspective Rene.
Still rocking the X as my daily. Changed the battery last March and it's still at 98% Max Capacity. 11 Pro as my main camera. I only have video/photography apps on it so I have lots of capacity. I don't even "keep originals" for any pics/videos in the library and definitely no music at all. Yeah, all the new features are cool and all, but I don't have a NEED for them. I used to automatically upgrade every 2 years, but things change and I don't have the disposable income to constantly upgrade. Like you said, the features I am waiting for will eventually happen, and guess what, I'll still rock the X as my daily until I can't update the software anymore.
"Wealth consists not of having great possessions, but in having few wants." -Epictetus Just upgraded from a 2016 SE to an iphone 13 mini, and only because my SE got splashed to death on a sink But i'd be fine without one too, I still recall the days of pagers. In fact, someone with a pager is more likely to grab my attention than one with a smartphone... But if you're buying phones thinking them like cars to show off, or upgrading phones year by year for minute feature upgrades... priority reconsiderations are in order
I've got a XR red and have a 14 Pro on order. I'm pleased with a 4yr ownership cycle. Will be a huge jump in EVERY area for me. My wife remains really happy with her 12 and has no desire or need to upgrade.
I had the 11 Pro and was waiting to upgrade… decided to spring for the 13 Pro a couple of months back; based on the 14 Pro rumours (and I’m glad I did). - I need USB C, so I’ll wait for 15 - I prefer the notch to the cutout - There’s no other reason to upgrade
I think the iPhone 13 Pro/Max are the sweet spot at this time around, until the iPhone 15 comes out! I’m trying not to upgrade my 11pro max just yet! Lol altho i do want the 13 pro then upgrade to the 15!!!
I just upgraded to a 13 Pro from an 11. My reasoning for not choosing the 14 Pro? Because the 13 Pro is 90% of what the 14 Pro is and $200 cheaper than it’s original retail price just 2 weeks ago at Costco. Also, the 13’s notch is out of the way when it comes to viewing most video content whereas the 14’s DI is lower and (currently) in the way of everything. Plus the interactive nature of the 14’s DI means you’ll have to stretch your fingers to the top of the phone more often than before. Little things like this add up and I figured this 13 Pro will still be receiving updates 5 years from now and still run great so why not save money and still have a great phone that can do most of what the 14 Pro can do? So far I’m very happy with my decision and I hope whichever phone you all pick is right for you too. Cheers!
I have a 13 Pro and I won't be upgrading to 14. But I think by the time the 15 comes out, I'll want to try the Dynamic Island and it will be nice to have USB-C. I never upgraded annually, but I used to always get a new phone every two years. I may stick to that just because of "tech nerd" reasons, but there is far less reason to upgrade frequently these days. That's not a bad thing either.
Tbh outside of the niche tech crowd, most people could easily keep their smartphones for 4-5 years if they upkeep it. Just need a battery change and you’re straight
Rene, Prince actually laid down the song for your video years ago. I have been caught several times walking through the house, slowly waving my Deep Purple 14 Pro Max over my head side to side, while singing to the tune of Purple Rain. I encourage everyone to sing with me now. “Honey, I know, I know times are changing. It’s time we all reach out for the new, that means you too! You say you want a new iphone, but you can’t seem to make up your mind. I think you better close it, and let me guide you, to the Purple Phone.” (Raise your hands with me now and wave back and forth and SING!) “Purple phone, Purple phone yeah…” 😂 (You can keep singing if you want cause I know you guys did!) I upgraded from 11 Pro Max and love my new phone!
true! i got the iphone 5 when it first came out then waited til the screen was popping out and not holding a charge to upgrade to the iphone 8 then waited til that phone died and got the iphone 12 pro max and now my iphone 12 pro max is dying but i am not sure if i want to upgrade just yet
Upgraded from the XR to the 14 Pro Max. However, I sent it back today. Not that is wasn’t a great phone all around, but it’s still just an iPhone. My phone still runs great, albeit not as fast and not as on point photo wise, but still gets the job done consistently, all while running the same OS. it’s easy to get caught up in all this shiny new technology, but has Apple really done enough to warrant our hard earned money year over year? They make very slight variations from one year to the next and expertly market it as must have upgrades. I miss true innovation from a lot of these companies, but there’s only so much you can do before the ceiling has been hit. Unless you desperately need one of the slight variations in updates, then just keep your existing phone until you truly need another one.
100% agree. I switched from to the X to the 13 Mini and it’s a great phone but it’s still just the same. I gave the X to my Mom because her phone broke and I didn’t want her to spend money on a new one so if it wouldn’t be for that I would still rock the X. Replacing the battery usually makes the phone feel brand new.
I'm still rocking my iPhone X for the same exact points you mentioned. A camera bump here, a faster refresh rate for the screen...they're great but not a reason for me to upgrade. I said to myself soon after getting the X that instead of upgrading every other year ( was on the S cycle since 3GS ) that I will be upgrading every 5... so 15 will be my next upgrade, and so forth. (P.S.) Just ordered that Razor and blades... been looking to get away from Harry's. Thanks : )
Unless you bought the X long after launch, it’s been 5 years. It’s time you upgraded, my friend! You’ve waited long enough that, being one of those who watches Tech UA-cam, you’ll appreciate the new phone a lot. You were also a premium buyer, so look at the 14 Pro and Pro Max. I’ve held out longer than most with my XS Max, and I’m looking forward to having my mind blown!
@@djsnowpdx yea but figured to keep it with the 5’s. So 15, 20 etc. I know the new ones are excellent and I definitely love the camera but, I can wait. My phone is still smooth as new and does what I need it to do with no issues.
@@PromotingTheBeat I tend to find that it froze and rebooted while using navigation apps Waze and GMaps. I thought it might have been caused by low storage space, as i was nearing my 64gb limit. So then I paid for iCloud which free’d up some space but it never made a difference.
You nailed it. All the “don’t upgrade “ videos seem to target those who have last years model. My wife and I had iPhone XS Max’s so these 14’s are amazing to us.
I have normal iPhone 13 256. My previous iPhone was Xs Max 512. I was kinda tired of having the biggest phone and also when the notch became bit narrower and the battery life got really better. That's why I did change it to having a perfectly balanced phone for me. Now I'm gonna wait for the iPhone 17.
people are always gonna say keep waiting until next year, it’s always gonna show some disappointment to an extent if you want to upgrade, go for it, have no regrets and use the most out of it.
Thank you. I totally agree with all the points you mentioned. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S9 plus. It looks out-dated (camera is old, huge chin and forehead, smaller battery, 60 hz display, 64gb inbuilt memory) but still does the job above average if not per latest and greatest standards. Time by time I get tempted to upgrade to the latest phone in the market, but I can't justify the huge cost of upgrading when my current phone isn't broken (not even a single scratch without any screen protector). Planning to use it for 1 more year (total 5 years) and then will finally upgrade.
I upgraded to iPhone 14 pro max from the iPhone 12 pro max. Even with battery health still over 92% on the 12, I'd run out of juice by 2pm. 14 is substantially better with battery life. The rest of the features like always on display, smoother with 120hz and pro motion are just nice. I have two phones, so I'm still using the SAMSUNG fold 2, I still don't feel the need to upgrade it.
Coming from an iPhone 11 pro, I haven't seen too much improvement to justify a switch to the 12/13 pro (tho 120Hz and Battery have been tempting - just not enough justification) The one thing I was hoping to convince me was the USB-C, but it never came. But I noticed I used wireless charging quite often, (only hassle being that it didn't stick and let me use the phone conveniently while charging) but with magsafe USB-C isn't too much of a dealbreaker for me. Recently "lost" my 11 pro and currently on an iPhone 7, so decided to by the 14, 15 would be pretty difficult to justify (over 13/14)
Finally upgraded from 7+ iPhone to a 14 Pro Max!! It isn’t as big as I was expecting with all the comments about the size. What I was surprised about is the weight. Caught me off guard when I picked it up. It feels like a denser weight - slightly heavier.
Another excellent video, very interesting and informative. I’m upgrading from my pro max 11 to the 14 pro max. A lot of technology improvements over three years. Keep the awesome videos coming and take care all the best😊
11 Pro Max to 14 is NOT huge upgrade. 11 pro max made like Camry does not dim under load or throttle as much. Plus more comfortable in reality, can use it for 5 more years really. XR is great now even so imagine the 11 pro max
You come from a year where you can really appreciate the design difference, I have 13 pro Max and it puts my note 10+ the previous King 👑 of all smartphones to shame 😆
@@mcul3474 for some people, 3 years is a long time, to wait for an upgrade. Especially if you consider yourself a tech enthusiast and love smartphones. Although 3 year gap in technology is not a HUGE upgrade, it is pretty substantial and noticeable, and thus may be enough to warrant an upgrade.
I prefer the notch over pill cutout solely due to the location, apple should of put the cutout at the top of the screen and still could of had dynamic island without wasting screen space, there is no reason to have that wasted space at the top just for people couldn't call it a notch 2.0
My wife and I bought on alternate years until we both bought the X. I upgraded to the 13 Pro Max only because my X was too damaged. I don’t see my wife buying a new phone for many years. I will look at the 15 but might wait until 16. I am really looking at the Watch innovations and doing more upgrades for it.
I agreed with the opening statement. I traded in my 12 pro max ($1000 trade in with att) and got the 14 pro max. The 15 is reportedly barely going to be better (the only huge difference we know of is a slightly better zoom) and much more expensive.
Exactly. I plan on getting a 15 Pro Max (or whatever the top end large-format phone is called this next time around), largely because I expect my 8+ will sunset this next iteration of the OS, and that's really the only reason I'd be picking up a new phone. Running the latest OS has always been key for me, and unless the phone breaks, I never replace the phone until the one I have cannot.
I bought the 11pro max 2.5 years ago. Goal is to see if I can hold out for 5 years having just replaced the batter. If I'm less nerdy by then maybe even 6 years but I doubt I can hold out that long
Excellent product maturity analysis. Love watching your videos because you cover recommendations for both early adopters and the mainstream user. Great video!
Ironically the iPhone 14 looks almost identical to the iPhone 13 externally, but has been completely redesigned internally. This fits in well with the car analogy; the next Porsche looks a lot like the previous one as it keeps the brand identity. Apple does the same. I’m a happy iPhone 12 Pro user who is waiting for USB-C.
I am the type that he talks about. I use my phone as long as I can until I do something dumb like drop it. This is what I did to my iPhone 11. I had the screen replaced. I'm getting into making videos and would like to transfer 4k videos to my Mac quickly. So, I'm considering the iPhone 15 if it has Thunderbolt 3 as rumored.
Most cellular programs offer unlimited yearly upgrades to the best and newest iPhone for around $60 a year. It is only $5 a month to stay with the latest phone constantly. That’s less than a single Frappuccino.
This is so true, not only for phones but also the Apple Watch. Ultra aside, the last redesign of the Apple Watch was with the Series 4, which is the one I still have. From the features released since then, I really only miss always-on display. I am waiting for Apple to do the rumored square redesign on the Series lineup to upgrade or to get any exciting feature. The Series 8 this year was the perfect example with the new temperature sensor, so many opportunities there and Apple chose to release a feature for basically female only; they could have easily also included a fever warning/detection which would be available to everyone but I guess they will present it next year as a WatchOS feature or something like that…
I’ve had an iPhone 13 Pro Max a few months ago, and expected to keep it a few years as usual. But the iPhone 14 Pro Max has a few features that have me seriously considering in immediate upgrade. With my health issues, the satellite emergency communication is interesting. It’s why my watches have had cell connectivity. Crash detection adds to that benefit. The camera is a definite draw, and the brighter display adds to that for any outdoor photography, where not being able to see the screen as I try to adjust the controls has been a problem. But in the past, I have held onto phones until the battery life faded to intolerance, and the feature sets of new phones haven’t been enough to justify the work of switching. Battery life is now longer to begin with, so the fade over time doesn’t become critical so quickly. It is unusual for a new model’s feature set to hit my particular issues. In general, I recommend keeping an old phone until it either ages, software updates cease, or the accumulated feature advances become compelling.
People overlook car crash detection. I upgraded just for that feature alone. It might save your life. And the dynamic island is also a huge plus. It’s not a gimmick
Thank you Renee for making that statement about smartphones. Changes for phones with all companies are incremental, and they’re so advanced that they’re meant to and can last 3+ years. I’m sticking with my 12 Pro Max until at least next year if Apple introduces the periscopic lens.
I have the 11. Should I get the 15 or wait for the 16? Carriers are still giving full trade-in values for the XS models so I’m thinking they’ll still give the full value for the 11’s next year. Thoughts?
I’ve been saying this on other tech channels. The act like everyone has last years phone. They tell you not to upgrade as nothing much has changed. I’m like dude, my phone is 3 years old lol! I have plenty to look forward to!
I upgraded my iPhone 8+ to 14 256GB for $200 up front all in…I don’t mind it not being pro version for what I paid for (internal of 14 is equivalent to 13 pro). I’ll wait to see more polished pro version before committing… 😊
Agreed: I still have the 📱12. I’m so disappointed in the 📱14 b/c now they have decided 2 do the esim. When it’s faster 2 swap out SIM card when people travel international 🤦🏻
Personally I had iPhone 3 > iPhone 5 > iPhone 7 (current) > iPhone 15 (waiting). The upgrade between each generation is so insignificant these days that you barely feel any difference, if there was no software slowdown/crashing happening i'd never upgrade. Really sus tho
@@pureluck8767 They big leaps in screen resolution, camera quality and processor was a huge difference if you use an iphone 3 or iphone 4, 4s 5, 5s 6, 6s. Now there is virtually no difference between iphone 10 and iphone 14, you can play the same games and take the same photos, only if you compare them side by side you can see some difference.
True🎉 Iconic style since 2020. The iPhone 12 was such a big upgrade over the 11 that I am STILL keeping my 12 another year. 😂 And I‘ve NEVER kept ANY phone longer than 2yrs. except now.
It’s quite obvious companies don’t want to give us everything all at once because they need to find a reason for consumers to buy one next year. So these updates will be incremental at best until a company breaks the mold and gives Apple, Google, and Samsung a run for their money.
I’m still rocking an iPhone 8 Plus on iOS 16. I’ve yet to upgrade, but I did upgrade my iPad Air 2 last year. Had it for 7 years and finally updated to the 12.9 inch iPad Pro with M1. *MASSIVE* difference… Try to keep your devices for as long as possible.
I have an iPhone 11. I am Holding on to it until a different screen tech than OLED appears on phones, or till they fix PWM flickering which kills my eyes. I may have to wait a long time..
Just get the new iPhone. No need to keep hoping for the rumors to come true. It's not like you have to buy the newest phone every single year or two or three and continue to throw away your money. There is nothing wrong with enjoying your hard earned money. It's not like it's extremely expensive. I think phone prices are an obtainable mark for anyone with a job and the financial responsibility to obtain that goal and to make the purchase possible. Especially if you're stuck here on yt watching phone tech vids. Phone tech is probably as "perfect" as it ever will be and yes of course there's ALWAYS going to be something better in 3-5years. It's already perfect for today. Plus you can always sell, make as much profit as possible, and purchase next years newest. I am aware that we'll take some loss, but hey that's the price we pay for loving tech. Ppl make everything so complicated. But more power to you if you like to wait another year after waiting for the past 4 years for the "perfect" setup. To each thier own.
I was considering buying the iPhone 14 pro. I currently use a 12 mini. The keynote was cool, and dynamic island seemed super interesting. But when I went to see it in store I just... didn't care? I might just upgrade to the 13 mini for the additional battery and storage gainz and keep that for as long as I can.
Thank you for this moment of sanity. After playing around with my wife’s 12 Pro Max and realizing that it doesn’t do one single thing (that I would use, anyway) one half of one percent better than my iPhone 8+, it’s easy to feel that I’ll continue to use this phone until it is either unfixable or will no longer work on a carrier network. Then, and only then, will I upgrade.
We have to live in the present and enjoy the moment. We never know what is stored for us next day. Better to be happy and live in the present and have all your favourite phones you can afford and dont worry about next year iphone.
I am waiting for Pro mini:) Otherwise I will probably upgrade once I cannot get the latest system (and if there are any cool features in the new one). I got the new Airpods Pro this year, quite happy about them, my first ANC headphones, still getting used to them.
This is why I enjoy this channel the most. This guy is incredibly right. Stop comparing the iPhone 13s to the iPhone 14s. Very few people are going to upgrade now year to year and Apple has the statistics showing this which is why Apple isn’t even marketing it as a year over year upgrade.
When I learned that the iPhone 14 would have the same processor as the iPhone 13, I knew it was my time to buy the iPhone SE 3. The A15 is going to be the minimum requirements for years to come ❤
Probably those iPhone with the A15 will become in something like the iPhone 6s which is the iPhone with longest software support ever (maybe 7 years of OS upgrades or something like that)
I’ve got a 12. Still have a lot of payments too so really have no choice to wait. That being said if you wait till the 15 the question will be do you wait for the 16? Edit* my last phone was an iPhone 7. I keep them until I have to move on.
I made a pact with myself. I’m not buying any more apple products unless they use usb-C. Enough with all these ridiculous cables. I want to use the same cable to connect my charger, Mac, iPad and iPhone.
I’m saving up for the iPhone 14 pro. Have had the XR for 3 & 1/2 years and by the time I the money it will be 4 so I get the feeling that as upgrades go I’m likely gonna love it.
Upgraded week ago from iPhone SE (2016) to a iPhone 14 Pro ..talk about a leap! That SE had its original battery, it started to be scary, i was afraid it was going to blow up, heated just by having its display on, battery percentage went down just by looking it funnily etc LOL
Let’s talk about the obnoxious camera bumps. ESPECIALLY on the iPhone 14. This thing is just absurd. I won’t buy another phone until they figure that out.
Coming from an S21 Ultra, I am upgrading to the iPhone 14 mainly because of the well known stability and longlivety of iPhone. My phone is not even 2 years old and it already feels slow, apps crasching and the battery is draining extremely fast. And the call quality is terrible too. I'm fairly sure I've made the right choice here. But yes, if there is nothing wrong with your phone, then ofc the only reasonable thing to do is to keep using it for as long as possible.
i have the phone 7 plus i am buying the 14 pro max however i seen the model for the 15 the model is set apart and different should i wait another year ?

But i'd be fine without one too, I still recall the days of pagers. In fact, someone with a pager is more likely to grab my attention than one with a smartphone...
But if you're buying phones thinking them like cars to show off, or upgrading phones year by year for minute feature upgrades...
priority reconsiderations are in order
Wife and I had the 12 Pro. Upgraded to 14 Pro Max but jumped up to 512gb. I plan to roll with this for awhile
- I need USB C, so I’ll wait for 15
- I prefer the notch to the cutout
- There’s no other reason to upgrade
Cutout will definitely be on the 15
I think the iPhone 13 Pro/Max are the sweet spot at this time around, until the iPhone 15 comes out!
Cheers!
Apple find THE thing with A15 and battery life.
13 Pro 256 Go Alpine Green is ✅
I went from 11 PM to 14PM. Mainly got a Better screen, battery life, cameras. I could have waited another year tbh, but I’m happy with my purchase.
That's not a bad thing either.
same
Tbh outside of the niche tech crowd, most people could easily keep their smartphones for 4-5 years if they upkeep it.
@@Shumittsu As well as the iOS updates…makes the phone feel new as well.
I had to give up my X for the 14 pro. The battery on my X wasn’t even lasting half a day with moderate use. Plus constant crashing.
@@Jackruby22 ah. I did have a degrade also, I just replaced it at the store. Crashing from what? I ask because mine has never crashed.
Nice! Did u both buy 14 Pro Max?
I have normal iPhone 13 256. My previous iPhone was Xs Max 512. I was kinda tired of having the biggest phone and also when the notch became bit narrower and the battery life got really better. That's why I did change it to having a perfectly balanced phone for me. Now I'm gonna wait for the iPhone 17.
people are always gonna say keep waiting until next year, it’s always gonna show some disappointment to an extent
if you want to upgrade, go for it, have no regrets and use the most out of it.
I am still using XR and have no problem with it.
This guy is absolutely right I just had my battery swapped on my iPhone 11 pro I love that phone
As someone who went from the 7 to the 12 pro, I’m fine with waiting till the 16 or 17 era.
Coming from an iPhone 11 pro, I haven't seen too much improvement to justify a switch to the 12/13 pro (tho 120Hz and Battery have been tempting - just not enough justification)
The one thing I was hoping to convince me was the USB-C, but it never came.
But I noticed I used wireless charging quite often,
(only hassle being that it didn't stick and let me use the phone conveniently while charging)
but with magsafe USB-C isn't too much of a dealbreaker for me.
Recently "lost" my 11 pro and currently on an iPhone 7, so decided to by the 14,
15 would be pretty difficult to justify (over 13/14)
I have an iPhone 8 Plus. Should I upgrade to 14?
Yup
I've had the iPhone 8 since 2018, and it's still working fine.
Finally upgraded from 7+ iPhone to a 14 Pro Max!! It isn’t as big as I was expecting with all the comments about the size.
What I was surprised about is the weight. Caught me off guard when I picked it up. It feels like a denser weight - slightly heavier.
I’m upgrading from an iPhone XR to to a 14 pro max this month. I just can’t wait any longer 😩
It is just a pleasure to hear you speak so truthfully, you are much appreciated!
11 to 14 is not a big upgrade at all. You've just convinced yourself that so you don't feel terrible for having wasted a bunch of money on nothing.
Don’t waste your money, dude. Wait a couple more years you’re just throwing money away and make an apple rich.
It’s entirely about the camera for me, as a completely amateur hobbyist photographer. If the 15 has more optical zoom, I will be getting it.
I am really looking at the Watch innovations and doing more upgrades for it.
i have had 6s for six years, i am probably going to upgrade to 14 soon
What I want and why I don’t upgrade right now:
• USB-C
• pencil support for the pro max
• a periscope tele lens
I agreed with the opening statement. I traded in my 12 pro max ($1000 trade in with att) and got the 14 pro max. The 15 is reportedly barely going to be better (the only huge difference we know of is a slightly better zoom) and much more expensive.
Got an android but all the apps are Spanish which is a bit annoying so looking forward to getting an iPhone next year once USB-C is standard
Same here, i have Iphone 11 and I think im only gonna get support until 2025 when iphone 17 comes out.
The 991 generation Porche 911 looks significantly more different to the 992 generation than the 13 does to the 14.
Upgraded from an iPhone X to an iPhone 14 pro max. Just amazing was really worth the upgrade, especially with the battery life.
I’m going to hold onto my iPhone mini 12 and 13 until maybe they re-release the iPhone mini
I’m going from iPhone 11 to iPhone 14 pro just ordered it today. Can’t wait!
I’m waiting until the notch is fully removed.
Big part of longer upgrade cycle is price with phones now being $1000 and more
1st line is absolutely correct. This is what people need to learn.
I have the 11. Should I get the 15 or wait for the 16? Carriers are still giving full trade-in values for the XS models so I’m thinking they’ll still give the full value for the 11’s next year. Thoughts?
Get 15, 16 won't be too different
i prefer to upgrade once in 4 years
I upgrade when my thing dies
Then, why did you go to the three to the five to the seven? Those were barely upgrades you truly are dumb.
@@pureluck8767 iphone 3 to 4 was an astronomical leap compared to todays changes, what is your question?
@@Noobmaster-sd1qm no they weren’t. I had those phones and they surely we’re not.
My iphone 12 isn’t working fine, but I dont know if I should wait for the 15 or upgrade now. I doubt it that my phone will last until summer
Still using iPhone 6S, shall I upgrade to 14 or wait for the 15? 🤔
me too and i m waiting for the 15
Me too with the 6s. I will wait for the 15. Missing fellow CDN Rene while watching MBWeekly.
Get the latest iPhone then upgrade every five years to see a difference
True🎉 Iconic style since 2020. The iPhone 12 was such a big upgrade over the 11 that I am STILL keeping my 12 another year. 😂 And I‘ve NEVER kept ANY phone longer than 2yrs. except now.
It’s quite obvious companies don’t want to give us everything all at once because they need to find a reason for consumers to buy one next year. So these updates will be incremental at best until a company breaks the mold and gives Apple, Google, and Samsung a run for their money.
This is the video ive been looking for, thanks.
I’m still rocking an iPhone 8 Plus on iOS 16. I’ve yet to upgrade, but I did upgrade my iPad Air 2 last year. Had it for 7 years and finally updated to the 12.9 inch iPad Pro with M1. *MASSIVE* difference…
Try to keep your devices for as long as possible.
I’ve always like the mini cause it’s seems ez to handle and hold. How do u like ur Mini?
@@jesusguerrero6385 I love it. It could be even a little bit smaller. But it's nearly totally perfect in my opinion.
Watching this on a slightly cracked iPhone 8-plus. Don’t want to lose the home button just yet!
When I learned that the iPhone 14 would have the same processor as the iPhone 13, I knew it was my time to buy the iPhone SE 3. The A15 is going to be the minimum requirements for years to come ❤
I think that is a smart way to look at it. The A15 customer/user base will be so big its going to be well supported for an eternity.
What do you think about the odd series iphone is the best worth to buy??
I made a pact with myself. I’m not buying any more apple products unless they use usb-C. Enough with all these ridiculous cables. I want to use the same cable to connect my charger, Mac, iPad and iPhone.
Should I upgrade my XS Max or wait until Iphone 15?
That Segway into the sponsor. Perfect 10! 👌
I’m saving up for the iPhone 14 pro. Have had the XR for 3 & 1/2 years and by the time I the money it will be 4 so I get the feeling that as upgrades go I’m likely gonna love it.
I get a the new iPhone every single year, and just chuck my old one out 😅😅😅😅😅😂😂
Bruh 😂
I own a 13 pro max. Targeting “iPhone 18 Ultra Fold” for my next upgrade. I hope that will be a huge leap.
Upgraded week ago from iPhone SE (2016) to a iPhone 14 Pro ..talk about a leap! That SE had its original battery, it started to be scary, i was afraid it was going to blow up, heated just by having its display on, battery percentage went down just by looking it funnily etc LOL
I would be perfectly happy with 14 plus. If only it has usb-c, i would pre-order it right away. But i have to wait for 15 plus than.
Still on my iPhone 11. Works perfectly well. Think I will keep it to until iPhone 15 or 16.
In hindsight the 13 pro's were stellar phones, even worth the upgrade from a 12 pro
I went for 13 pro max with upgraded storage just for this reason. I’m holding this to the grave, will change the battery myself if needed.
My Android finally died so got a 14 PM. Wish it had a SIM slot and USB-C. If the 15 PM gets SIM slot and USB-C, I will be tempted but will hold off until the 16 PM comes out.
I absolutely love the 14 pro max. Battery life , always on screen etc. Came from 12 pro max. Do not agree with all the negativity regarding it. Solid phone and upgrade.
I got the 13 alpine green several months ago and I was really considering getting the 14. But rene makes sense. And they aren't offering alpine green again
No, you must always buy the latest thing!!
