    About The Tudors:
    Jonathan Rhys Meyers stars in this original, history-based drama series as the young, vibrant King Henry VIII, a competitive and lustful monarch who navigates the intrigues of the English court and the human heart with equal vigor and justifiable suspicion. Natalie Dormer ("Anne Boleyn"), Jeremy Northam ("Thomas More"), Maria Doyle Kennedy ("Queen Katherine"), James Frain ("Thomas Cromwell") and Peter O'Toole ("Pope Paul III") round out the all-star cast of this lavish epic.

    What's sad in the exchange is that after Henry VIII's death, when Elizabeth is living with Catherine and her new husband Thomas Seymour (Jane's brother), he develops a "creepy uncle" relationship with the princess. Some scholars think this early abuse is one of the reasons Elizabeth never marries.

    • @fromthesea2114
      @fromthesea2114 7 років тому +57

      Meredith Hagan she also joined in on the abuse and held Elizabeth down while Seymour "cut the back of her night gown to a thousand pieces"

    • @gidzmobug2323

      Meredith Hagan Part of why Elizabeth never married was because she saw what happened between her parents and the other four wives. She is rumored to have asked after Anne's execution, "How haps it that yesterday, I was Lady Princess, and today but Lady Elizabeth?" She certainly was old enough to see what happened with Anne of Cleves and another Howard relative, Catherine Howard.

      You can't possibly blame Mary for being suspicious. I mean, it was because of her first stepmother, Anne Boleyn that her happiness was crushed. Because of Anne, her father divorced her mother and sent her away, while declaring Mary illegitimed. Not only that, but she had also to live with her half-sister, who looked like Anne, and then watch her father marry other women. In fact, I think she had a good relationship with only two of her stepmothers: Jane and Anne of Cleves. With Katherine Parr, despite their initially good relationship, the fact the last wife of Henry was raising Ellyzabeth and Edward in the Protestant way caused her to lose Mary's favor.
