I was excited to try buttonholes and followed the instructions carefully for my Singer Stylist 7258. The video is great but... my fabric does not move. It just stays in one place and makes a huge mess! I am using a cotton fabric with an iron interfacing and then another layer of cotton - the fron panel on a pair of button PJ's. I have at least 20 times and it is not working out. I thought is must be a feed dog issue but when I remove the button hole foot, and return to other settings, the machine sews just fine. I cannot find any tutorial on line as to what is wrong. HELP!

I didn't realize I had my top thread wrong 😅
I don’t have the original button hole foot so I got one second hand that’s different and it keeps coming up with error messages c2 and c3. Any advice?
