Beautiful Model Railroad Layout in HO Scale at the H.B. Plant Railroad Historical Society

H.B. Plant Railroad Historical Society - Home of the Mineral Valley Railroad.
The HO layout, The Mineral Valley, contains a 30” gauge lumber road and a 36” gauge mining road, and has a 144’ ling doubled tracked standard gauge mainline with 37” minimum radius curves and 1 ½ percent grades. The mainline is point-to-point with the two main yards forming a loop for constant running. A 1900-1910 version of Plant City, Florida is displayed with the correct era buildings, vehicles, and rolling stock. Most of the buildings are scratch built from photographs found in the East Hillsbrough Historical Societies Archives. The HO layout also features a large city (36 feet long with a freight yard, a rural passenger station, a large passenger station, and a truck on flat car yard). The two yards share an engine facility.

This was wonderful. The skill and craftmanship to create this town. Like other folk I see a few hiccups but I do not care. I love the way you film and edit your videos. Also a big thank you for not talking over your video and having subtle music playing.

So much energy is invested in an authentic layout, and then trucks that never ran in the USA or cheap goods and Matchbox toy cars spoil the picture. There are so many great, matching model cars from American trucks and cars and with a bit of tinkering skill - which is obviously there - everything could be built perfectly
