@@Theseniorlist Thank you! Really enjoyed watching your thorough review. 💜
I agree with you that Life Alert is very dependable.
For me, the contract they sell is great because it’s a “set it and forget it” situation. One less thing I need to manage for 3 years.
My 86 year old mother is still happily living in her home. She’s very independent and active, instead of being in a nursing home.
In California where we are, monthly nursing home fees are easily $5,000-$8,000 a month. So paying the $99 a month fee is a great deal to me. There’s no comparison, in my opinion. Thank you again.

@@Katakagarajust to note nursing home fees are mostly that price in every state

Happy to help! To help get your search started, we recommend checking out our list of this year's best systems: www.theseniorlist.com/medical-alert-systems/best/
Almost all of the entries allow month-to-month contracts that can be canceled at any time.

Life Alert is the gold standard in systems and the most dependable.

    • @Theseniorlist
      @Theseniorlist  Рік тому +1

I think that Life Alert is the "gold standard" purely due to name recognition. Other systems we've tested have performed better at a much lower cost.

@Theseniorlist I switched my mother from 2 other companies that wouldn't hold a charge properly. One company she was laying on the floor for 9 hours, pressing a button that didn't work. The company said she didn't charge the button properly. Life Alert is the only company that never needs to be charged. It has saved my mother's life twice. I am so grateful for them.

There are way more systems out there than I thought, but your video helped me get down to two choices. Many, many thanks to you!

It isn't, don't fall for these scams that happen every year thanks to Joe Nameth / Jimmy Walker and various others.
Medicare Advantage DOES NOT pay for Life Alert, they are currently 100% out of pocket.
However, YOU CAN claim Life Alert on your taxes at the end of the year as a medical expense and get a kick back that way @@yogisworld4005

It should be mentioned that the "activation fee" of $198 is not refundable, even if the unit has never been set up, or even plugged in. The contract is included in the equipment package and when I decided against going with this company after reading the contract, which decision was not received passively by the salesperson, I was told someone from the company would notify me when they would come to my home to receive the box. They won't let you mail it registered and certified. It has been 7 days and I have not heard from anyone there. I'll be texting the sales person tomorrow to nudge that process along. I hope.

The Activation Fee is told its non refundable when the Shipping department calls you post write up BEFORE the unit is shipped out.
You have a final opportunity to cancel then and NOT be charged the $198.
It is YOUR fault for not listening to what was being said
Even the salesperson tells you during the presentation that your equipment is programmed and personalized to YOU, this costs time and money to do.
If you want to cancel , do so during the post calls when a Manager and Shipping Department call you, otherwise, yes the $198 is non refundable

Do you have to press AND HOLD the button for the outside unit? It appeared that you were holding it the entire time you were walking outside. Not good if that is the case.

No, your service for the Life Alert systems (mobile and in-home) is included as part of your monthly payment. No cell phone (or home phone) is required to use Life Alert.

How much commission are you getting from Life Alert's competitors? Fall detection doesn't work %100 of the time and thay why Life Alert doesnt use it. Its a gimmick.
