Thank you for thinking of us (First Responders and Healthcare Workers)! I love being an RN and it is OUR pleasure to take care of our communities! Stay safe everyone and many prayers for all in Texas!
Thank you for putting this quilt together. I bought the kit and will make it to honor my husband. He’s a nurse and has been working extra hard during this pandemic. He’s truly my hero ❤️
I quickly went a got the pattern. I’m going to make this also as a tribute to my Mom. She served as a Red Cross ambulance driver in WWII. My father served in the Army, as did three of my brothers, WWII, KOREAN CONFLICT, and VIET NAM respectively. When done I think I’ll hang it in my sewing room. The pattern is a wonderful tribute to those who serve humanity. Thank you.
So nice to see Kimberly's smiling face -- sending best wishes for recovery to all! A tip I just learned: before trimming off the triangles, make another seam 1/2" away from the first one, then cut in between and voila, you have the smaller half square triangle, already sewn with no need to sew on those bias edges!
Hope y'all are doing ok and recovering from the winter storm. I know how hard it is for communities to recover from disasters, but I also know how beautiful it is when those same people come together for the good of all. We got blasted with temps down to -30 for days, but thankfully only had rolling blackouts for part of a day and then our town cranked up the 3 back up generators (I didn't even know they existed) and were able to keep us with power. That said, they did ask most businesses and industries to close and residents to unplug all unnecessary things and shut off all lights and turn down heat so they could keep up with heating. After being without power for a few hours, I think everyone was happy to oblige! I will echo everyone in saying how nice it is nice to see a video from FQS.
This will be perfect for my next Quilt of Valor to award to a veteran as well!! Thank you for the super helpful tutorials I always learn so much from you Kimberly and FQS
Glad to see ya back, even though I'm sure you did this before all the chaos happened. Still...keeping you all in my prayers and looking forward to seeing all of your smiling faces this week on your normally scheduled lives...if you're able to make it. Take care ALL of the FQS and stay healthy & warm. Praying for things to get back to "normal" (whatever that might be these days) for ya!!!
Oh how I love this for our first responders. ❤️🇺🇸🥰 I went to go order and it’s sold out ☹️😢 Maybe I can still get some nice fabrics to make this one!!! Thank you FQS for the inspiration!!!
Love, love, LOVE Patriotic looking quilts❗❤💙❤ Although that polka dot print not on the straight of grain/or printed crooked is making me want to recut the fabric. 😉 I dislike when you spend good money on fabric and the print is printed askew. Anyway fantastic quilt pattern.
This is lovely, thankyou! I've got a different colourway in mind.... quick qu, what would you say was the accent fabric in the video and what is the setting print fabric? For the love of it i can't get my head around it today! Thanks in advance- hope you guys are staying safe.
I purchased the quilt pattern but I’m confused on the fabric requirements in regards to the fat quarters, fat eighths, setting fabric and background etc can someone message me please? I preordered the bundle?
If you pre-ordered the American Gatherings fat quarter bundle, you can use those fat quarters for your block prints and setting prints. On The last page of the pattern is a fabric swatch page showing everything we used for the twin quilt, which is not far off from the lap size. We used the reds for the block prints, whites for the setting prints. The accents, background and binding will need to be separate since they are yardage cuts.
@@FatQuarterShopTX I think she’s wondering about all the comments wondering if you are okay, and sending prayers, etc. Our power and water issues may not be something someone in a different country may have read/heard about. Mariana, we had a winter weather event here in Texas and many lost power and heat for several days with temperatures well below zero (about -20C). Many died, and water pipes froze and burst, so lots of people without clean water, too. It’s a pretty major disaster. 😔
Thank you for putting this quilt together. I bought the kit and will make it to honor my husband. He’s a nurse and has been working extra hard during this pandemic. He’s truly my hero ❤️

Hello Leonor! We used the reds for the block prints, whites for the setting prints.
Cool 💡
I see that the Ladies Aid Quilt kit is sold out. Will you be offering it again at a later date?
I new starting nice update.
What type of pins do you use? Love the block and colors-
Hello Alejandra! Kimberly uses Clover Silk Pins Boxed: www.fatquartershop.com/clover-silk-pins-boxed-2501cv
Can any block quilt be converted to quilt-as-you-go?
Hello Dana! Yes, any traditional pieced block can be used for quilt-as-you-go.
I purchased the quilt pattern but I’m confused on the fabric requirements in regards to the fat quarters, fat eighths, setting fabric and background etc can someone message me please? I preordered the bundle?
Hello Denise! What size quilt are you planning on making?
@@FatQuarterShopTX the lap size

@@FatQuarterShopTX thank you. I didn’t order the kit. I preordered the FQ bundle
I hope you are all ok down there.
What happend????
