Warpath is damn lucky his design is so distinctive. Chest-cannon, burgundy-red, weird facemask, Autobot tankformer... it's all pretty great. Other than that, his personality is kind of standard-issue early-G1 "single-word archetype/annoying vocal tic." In his case, "hothead/yells 'kaboom' at random." He did have one hell of a Generations toy, though.
As someone with Tourette's Syndrome, I've always considered Warpath's speech pattern in the original cartoon to be a sort of vocal tic. That gave me more of a personal connection and fondness for the character and it's an idea I'd love to see adopted into future adaptations. I also would love to see Warpath get a new figure in the War for Cybertron line as I feel the one he received in Combiner Wars wasn't the greatest. I also think he deserves the deluxe class treatment. Also, I loved the design they gave him in the Cybertron games, too bad we never got a figure based on that design.
I mean, do you really think Warpath would have preferred dying like others in the movie making a loud last stand or something?.... ..oh fuck, thinking about it actually Warpath would have preferred the last stand over a quiet phasing out.
I really wish Warpath got more love. He's one of my favorite minor Autobots ever. He could be the Bulkhead of a series; destructive and strong, but has problems that help his battles. His Tourette's can lead to many small gags, such as the Autobots being in a stealth operation, but Warpath the whole time is holding back his tick until he couldn't take it anymore and screams the biggest *"KA-BLAM!!!!"* he'd ever bleat, alerting every Decepticon in the area.
Warpath definitely deserves more meat to his bones, kinda surprised that IDW didn’t do anything with him. Also, are Devcon, Lockdown and Death’s Head the only bounty hunters in the Transformers franchise?
In the G1 cartoon. The alt-modes weren't chosen by the transformers themselves. Their ship's computer scanned various vehicles and objects and reconfigured the bots that were similar in mass.
What you said doesn't make sense, even in IDW comics. In IDW comics, Transformers were born with their alt mode. Under the Functionist Council's rule, it is forbidden to change the alt mode, so if someone is born as a tank, he will have to stick with it for the rest of his life. Also, Impactor and Perceptor are also tanks. No one mistook them for Decepticons. The alt mode doesn't have anything to do with their faction.

It's stupid but I can't help but love that ZAWEEY WHAAM BAAAM!! I also love that he's partially deaf in WFC. Shows that robots can get affected in the long-term like we do.
My first G1 TF toy when I was a kid! We couldn't afford the bigger ones so I made do with this little guy. I didn't understand why he was so damn small when he was the same size as all the other Autobots in the Season 2 cartoon, and then suddenly shrank to the same size as the minibots in Season 3 of the show. Great thing about the toy was it was simple to transform, durable, and the turret actually turned. Ah good times :)
Warpath was always one of my favorites. If I remember right, he was supposed to have a somewhat significant role in the original script of the '86 film, being one of the leaders of a small Autobot resistance against the Decepticons occupying Autobot City after Hot Rod and the gang left the planet.
I love this series so much. No matter how big or small the character, whether it be Starscream, Warpath, or someone as obscure as Hauler, you always give each episode the same level of effort and quality
I remember getting the Generations Warpath figure one day after school when I was younger. My mom picked me up and it was waiting in my seat, and I think that's why Warpath (and that figure specifically) really stick out in my mind.

As a reason for war paths speech quirk warpath would be a surviver of the razing of nebulous and he would be almost deaf from the attack and would copy the sounds of canons as that is one of main things he thinks about
I can see Warpath's original Cybertron vehicle mode to be a ranged demolition vehicle. It does however make it similar to how easy Megatron modified his tracked mining vehicle into a tank like in Transformers War for Cybertron dream wave comics.

As both a Transformers fan and military enthusiast (who collects both Transformers and military scale models) I was very disappointing the DOTM game M1A2 Abrams Warpath did not end up in a movie or toyline, really loved that design. Although in the movie he should not be red, desert camo would work for him. With maybe some red parts in robot mode that are only visible in robot mode. Anyway I gave the desert repaint of Brawl an Autobot logo and reperposed him as Warpath. Was also disappointed F-35 Lightning II Autobot Breakaway was not in any movie. Hoping Warpath will get a toy in the Earthrise toyline with a correct earth tank mode. M551 Sheridan or maybe a modern equivalent like M1A2 Abrams or a light tank like Griffin of M8 Thunderbolt.

Loved this guy, ever since Dinobot Island. For his friendly demeanour, his sheer prowess, his zany attitude and the great tussles he had with Blitzwing. Would’ve been cool to see Warpath have a go at Brawl.
Its been too long since I thought about Warpath. I had forgotten about his enthusiasm and his verbal habit. I never knew that about about the second generation of smaller Autobots, that they weren't part of another toyline. Thanks for shedding some Zowie light on this beloved rough and tumble Autobot. Can't wait for the next video.
G1 Warpath was my first Transformer. I wanted a Masters of the Universe figure but my mother said it was one of the little Transformers or nothing. I just grabbed one and caught up to her at the checkout line. I didn’t even look at him until we got into her station wagon. Warpath was the figure that started my love for the Transformers franchise.

It'll happen eventually. That's just a huge episode that will take a ton of work. It took 100 episodes to get to Optimus, but Chris promised us it wouldn't take 100 more to get to Megatron. Be patient and let the man do the work he wants, when he wants it. It'll be better for it.
Honestly Warpath was one of my favorite characters to play as in the Transformers War For Cybertron Game, and it was so cool to see him again in Fall of Cybertron. So to quote the big guy, “KABLAM!!”

I had never actually heard of the character till I saw the announcement of this episode, but I grew up over the course of the Beast era and the Unicron trilogy so I've missed some large chunks of G1 and animated
I'd like to see an episode on Sideways, probably known best as that one Transformer that could switch between Decepticon and Autobot insignias but primarily hung around the Decepticons during the Unicron Trilogy (or at least Armada and Cybertron).
Warpath is unique character case from his his robot design to his personality. I actually happen to have Warpath's GCW Legends Class toy though I admit that would like to see Warpath getting new toy in Earthrise though considering that he has used his 2010 Generations toy look few times; guess that's more then enough for this battle loving loudmouth tankbot.

I’m not gonna lie... I’ve never seen warpath as a big character but he’s one of the more memorable characters that I actually know

Loved this guy, ever since Dinobot Island. For his friendly demeanour, his sheer prowess, his zany attitude and the great tussles he had with Blitzwing.

Its been too long since I thought about Warpath. I had forgotten about his enthusiasm and his verbal habit. I never knew that about about the second generation of smaller Autobots, that they weren't part of another toyline. Thanks for shedding some Zowie light on this beloved rough and tumble Autobot. G1 Warpath was my first Transformer. I wanted a Masters of the Universe figure but my mother said it was one of the little Transformers or nothing. I just grabbed one and caught up to her at the checkout line. I didn’t even look at him until we got into her station wagon. Warpath was the figure that started my love for the Transformers franchise.

@@DESTRAKON I know considering the fact that he has taken up Bumblebee's role in Transformers energon and Transformers Cybertron and the fact he was originally meant to take Bumblebee's roll again in Transformers animated and of course recently Hot Shot has returned to the spotlight as the main character in Transformers Rescue Bots Academy

It'll happen eventually. That's just a huge episode that will take a ton of work. It took 100 episodes to get to Optimus, but Chris promised us it wouldn't take 100 more to get to Megatron. Be patient and let the man do the work he wants, when he wants it. It'll be better for it.

Honestly Warpath was one of my favorite characters to play as in the Transformers War For Cybertron Game, and it was so cool to see him again in Fall of Cybertron. So to quote the big guy, “KABLAM!!”
He's got to be best underrated wave II character in my opinion.

I was actually surprised that the g1 warpath toy was added to the reissued g1 figures which is actually cool
I had never actually heard of the character till I saw the announcement of this episode, but I grew up over the course of the Beast era and the Unicron trilogy so I've missed some large chunks of G1 and animated
The Merlin episode had to be one of my favorite next to the one where they went to a planet of giants that could basically treat the bots as toys.
I'd like to see an episode on Sideways, probably known best as that one Transformer that could switch between Decepticon and Autobot insignias but primarily hung around the Decepticons during the Unicron Trilogy (or at least Armada and Cybertron).
Warpath is unique character case from his his robot design to his personality. I actually happen to have Warpath's GCW Legends Class toy though I admit that would like to see Warpath getting new toy in Earthrise though considering that he has used his 2010 Generations toy look few times; guess that's more then enough for this battle loving loudmouth tankbot.
