I remember being in high school when Bioware came out with Knights of the Old Republic & Jade Empire and everyone raved about those games. After high school they had Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Origins, and Mass Effect 2 which were all solid as well. Bioware in the last 10 years has become a shell of it's former self. Dragon Age: Inquisition is the only game by Bioware I have played since Mass Effect 2.
That's basically due to EA though isn't it? I remember when hearing "EA Games: challenge everything" or "EA Sports: to the game" were signs that you were about to play a great game, but anything with an EA logo on it now just fills me with trepidation.
@@David-ud9ju EA is the reason these developers fail to deliver quality products without months, if not years, of patchwork. We buy the garbage and complain it's garbage knowing full well it was going to be garbage
I agree with the sentiment, although I think BioWare has remained a decent company despite DA II, ME 3, and ME Andromeda having issues, especially having to follow such great games. (I have no interest in Anthem). I think their parent company EA is the most problematic factor. I have hope that BioWare will be able to go uphill again, and with caution I highly anticipate DA Dreadwolf and ME 4.
What ruined evolve for me was they announced dlc before the game was out. The final monster and area, I think, was going to be $15 extra. That's one of the first games I remember talking dlc before game was even released
Mas Effect 3 did the same thing. Paid DLC on launch. And it was pretty important DLC IMO. Javik added so much to the game I can't imagine playing it without him.
Teamgeist well I mean it wasn’t the best game ever made but it also wasn’t mediocre/good Perfect was tbh the best thing to say imo There were a few flaws too but that didn’t bother me a lot

Thank you. I was so hyped for Brink. I remember going to target and buying it first day it was out, and before the end of the day I was so let down. Probably the biggest let down of a game I've experienced . like I played Duke nukem forever when it came out and I actually enjoyed it alot and didn't understand why others didn't. @@noblecyborg-savage I didn't buy it on day 1,bcuz I wasn't aware it had a bot-mode & thought it was "multiplayer-only". But,I knew about the development taking FOR EVER & thought that would mean it was probably pretty-good,at least. So,I can easily say, that I was also /extremely/ disappointed w/ how it turned-out(glad I waited for it to drop some, tho). As,the bot-mode was VERY bare-bones & the AI always took all the good power-ups as soon as the level/arena loaded, preventing me from having any chance... I specifically remember only having a basic weapon,or 2. While, they ran around w/ all the "good stuff"(like Explosives/Rocket Launchers/grenades,etc...). I usually got killed, before I could find ANYTHING other than a grenade(if I even got /that/ lucky)... Also, the offline-mode didn't even /allow/ U to have access to some of the weapons(about half were "online only"). Yet,the AI had all sorts of advanced weapons. Even, those I could /never/ have access to. That's just unfair... :( BTW-If I had known it had bot-mode,I would've bought it day 1,also(I don't play online-only games,so a bot-mode is required). Anthem just needed more variety, they should have taken loot tips from The Division and Destiny 2. It was washed up, thankfully I paid eight bucks for it at Gamestop.
Austin hello games really turned that game around, I honestly think it is the best comeback story in video game history. They were on a time crunch and all of the things promised couldn’t fit into the timeframe allotted to them but holy hell, each update is MASSIVE and the game is so immersive now.

i had a pretty good time with mass effect andromeda mostly because the combat was actually awesome and the characters had a lot of potential if, you know, they had like 2 more games to flesh them out, but that was the thing. the original mass effect series had 3 games worth of content and decisions that could impact the story and andromeda, since it was basically scrapping the original series, was always going to have none of that, so they needed to pack as much of the things that people liked about the trilogy into one game as possible, and they didn't do that. and now with the new mass effect game it looks like we're going back to the original setting, so.... here we go again.
One of the best things about Evolve was that your character would automatically start sprinting after walking a couple seconds, something Borderlands desperately needs. I click the left thumb stick more than the right trigger in those games.
I really am sad for Alien: Colonial Marines. Apparently somebody recently discovered a piece of code written in error and when fixed, all of the ai significantly improved. The other marines behaved a lot more intelligently, didn’t do stupid shit if they were doing more than nothing at all, made smart choices and added value as a member of the team. The aliens also become much more formidable, they hunted you down better, they were more aggressive, they were good at finding spots to ambush players and pick off marines. All over a few botched lines of code.
The whole game was broke. Remember the E3 demo compared to the game? AI wasn’t the same, graphics, the aliens themselves, hell that mission wasn’t even in the game
I started playing FO76 when covid started. I got hooked. Idk if it’s way improved from its launch but I love it, I finished most of the quests up until the latest update.
As a fan of Spyro since I was five (Ripto’s Rage was my first ever video game), I still love Enter the Dragonfly. I’ve owned two copies that have barely ever glitched.
Michel van der Linden I agree, but I’m just hoping it starts getting better with EA gone. Shadowkeep has had an ok release, not as great as taken king but still decent.

@NIP Yes Fo4 is straight up legit. One of the top games ever. That's what makes Fo76 so bad, it came out years later yet it was buggy, had worse graphics and was basically Fo4 with the fun stripped off.
Duke Nukem Forever can look good with some tweaks. There are also some fun to have. Dr. Proton DLC was cool and some of the base game levels are fun. p.s: Multiplayer still works and there are players so it is not all so bad. Yes it could be a lot better and i still hope that our Duke comes back with a Big Bang! I mean he has to like Serious Sam 4 and the Awesome Siberyan Mayhem shows that those games still rocks!!! So Kids: Rock out with your ... Gamepad/Keyboard out ; )
Because EA still to this day struggles to understand that the best way to get the money of gamers is to satisfy those gamers. Every time they succeed on something then manage to destroy it on the next attempt.

Bioware won Game of the Year award for Dragon age Inquisition in 2014. Then they released Andromeda, followed by Anthem. They have the same character arc as Anakin. And EA being Palpatine.
Not to mention Inquisition was hell to develope and Bioware was mad it was successful because they wanted the higher ups to stop forcing crunch and hellish work conditions.
I loved Evole before turtle rock messed it up, then they made it free to play on PC only when the player base it had was mostly on console. Then they shut down the servers and to be frank I really miss it. The DLC thing sleazy though, but the game play wasn't as bad as most people make it out to be.
@@dimitriebraila6677 Witcher 3 also had "free" DLC but it was just little stuff. The actual content won't be out for a while. Who knows how long it'll take.
Exactly. Now I liked the second watchdogs but I believe that the first one had a way better story than the second one because it was one of those stories that kept you on the edge of your seat and was all around intense unlike the second one which only had a sprinkle of intense and interesting moments.
Same here, had more fun playing on a good team then any other multiplayer game. I thought it looked great and liked the character's. Was hoping they would add more maps and not charge for all the extra. I'm still mad it's over.
I really don't understand what is the problem with EA and their games, they have a really awesome saga of games that can make big thing whit them but they always suck at the end. They really suck just thinking that making microtransactions and Lootboxes are the right thing, but is not, well it could be good if EA fucking things first that if they are gonna add them at least give us more than it cost, they really fucking suck doing that shit.
no man's sky isn't that great but the developers are. They didn't just abandon the game after it failed back in 2016 instead they kept working until it became the no man's sky they wanted
Andromeda, Battlefront II, Unity, and Watchdogs are pretty fun in my opinion. While I completely agree that they didn't live up to their hype, I'd recommend them much more than the other games on this list. They are not in the same category as games like Colonial Marines, Anthem, and Fallout 76.
I too wanted to like it, I saw it almost a year before it came out. I was hyped and waiting for it. Coming on release, I didn’t even bother to look for it on the origins store because of how bad the reviews were for it
If I find anyone saying fallout 76 is bad I will happily hit them multiple times with a frying pan until the say it's a good game because I have played it for 1 year and 2 months straight without missing a single day
It was but there were quite a number of people thinking Bioware just had a slight hiccup with Mass Effect Andromeda since it was developed by their C-Team while the A & B-Teams were working on Anthem. All Anthem did was prove that Bioware has become like Rare in the 2000s after being bought by Microsoft: Have all the people responsible for their past classics leave the company only to be replaced by talentless snake oil salesmen.
oh man anthem, i actually loved the beta, it was a fun awesome time but i didnt play the game because alot of my friends got it first and started to complain about how bad it was and really made me not want to waste 60 bucks on the game even though i fully enjoyed the beta and was really happy to play it.
Agnieszka Kozaczek no it is a trash game, i did NOT enjoy it, very boring and it feels like it’/ a game you have 100% completed and are just walking around an empty workd
I don't know about overhyped and flopped, but Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City was a cool concept with a lot of potential that ultimately flopped. I mean it's a tactical shooter with zombies in a time where zombies was all the craze, and yet because it was mishandled, flopped miserably.
Here 2 years later to point out that Project 06 made the gameplay of Sonic 06 what it should have been. Kinda proves that the potential was there with the gameplay at least, but Sega flopped for being well... Sega... They definitely went too fast when it came to that flop.
@@Falcon_94 Bro, those games should have a quality check or something. If the game doesn't reach a certain standard, then it should be cheaper. Because i don't find fair paying $60 for RDR2/GOW/Doom Eternal and paying the same for fucking cybershit or Fallout 76 at the beginning.
Watch Dogs is something like my fourth favourite game of all time (so far). It didn't look as good as promised, but it still looked great. I loved the hacking and stealth mechanics, and the Chicago setting was so well-designed and full of realistic details!
Watch dogs 2 was way more floaty, and tried WAY to hard to just be GTA + gadgets. First one had an actual story too. One where you really cared (even a little) about any of the characters. And for a game that takes place in world of corruption, and companies that will kidnap your family just to hide their secrets, dark and brooding is the exact MO one should expect. Not some sociopathic smiley murderer. Admittedly, I didn't play # 2 all the way through. Couldn't.
I still think the first Watchdogs is the best out of the series. So I disagree with this video on that subject I’m not picky about graphics/frame rates. So I don’t really whine about that stuff
I'm still pissed they messed up Evolve. Why the heck were they way to greedy? It died because of the microtransactions. Could've easily survived if they did F2P right.
I would argue that it died way before the microtransaction. I have the original disk and since the beginning it wasn't a good play. Being the monster felt impossible, you'd think being this big bad enemy would be fun and interesting. But I was always found way too fast and then overwhelmed by the 4 v 1 aspect. It just wasn't fun.
@@Zathren They release Behemoth OP af and for 15 bucks, I think that was a major issue. Also there were a shitload of cosmetics for way too much money when the game really had much bigger issues. I loved playing that Thunder Mine Assault and the Railgun guy
@@Zathren Interesting. At release it was impossible to lose as ANY monster. Only later, when the players knew what they are doing you had to work hard for a victory. But that was not really the problem of the game. A good monster player could ruin the fun for hunters. It was so boring to run around and get nothing and die against a lvl 3 monster after 20 min. Still, i played it for almost 300h. They fixed alot of problems in the f2p version but it was already to late.
I tried Evolve when it was F2P, and had fun playing monster, but playing as hunter was so boring... just running around the map for 15 min with little bit of shooting here and there, and I think this is a problem for most asymmetrical games, where no one wants to play hunters / survivors, when playing as monster / killer is much more fun.
@@Rol4nnd Well I and my buddies Always prefered playing the hunters. The issue isn't preferences, it's the poor execution, balancing and the greedyness
What I don’t understand is evolve, I loved the game and still do. If they would’ve just stuck with it and made more monsters and more game modes like they had been doing then today it probably would’ve been a great game!
I feel the same, once you knew what you were doing and having a good team it was so epic. I thought it looked great and liked the character's and was actually shocked it just disappeared. Them charging for all the added thing's was ridiculous though. I do miss playing it alot. Could have been such a good game.
Star Wars Battle Front 2 2017. Stil active player base, same as Star Wars Battle Front 1. Loot boxes removed DAY 1 of full release by order of Disney OverLords. I still play it, stream it and unlike 2015 NO Season Passes for ANY DLC.
Yeah, honestly, Unity should be treated like he's treating No Man's Sky. They also worked like hell to make that game better, and it's now a worthy member of the franchise.

Oh man. APB... That one hurt. I was quite excited about the game. Even got to play the Beta. I can't remember if that was before or after EA bought the game. It definitely had an ambitious goalfor it's time, but I enjoyed it. The customizations were awesome, the gameplay was actually fun, and the idea was great. It's a shame it went through so many changes before release. APB Reloaded, which is what it became after EA sold the IP, is just a shell of what it was before, and monetized to hell.
I’m a big fan of the watchdogs series. 1 had the best storyline, but 2 delivered in terms of controls and graphics, and expanded the group of Dedsec instead of less than 10 ppl in the pilot game it illustrated
The only prob. I had w/ the 1st(haven't played the 2nd,yet),was the driving-physics. It was too un-realistic,for a game /trying/ to be realistic & GTA-like. It was also too-difficult to steer accurately & made me wish I could just complete the game entirely on-foot... Which,I attempted to do. But,I kept getting killed when I tried,at certain points...
Bioware is like the 2010's equivalent to 2000s era Rare.
Baldurs Gate 2 gets Bioware a forever pass in my eyes 👀

Perfect was tbh the best thing to say imo
There were a few flaws too but that didn’t bother me a lot

I came from 20 years in the future to tell you that The Elder Scrolls 6 was overhyped.
Not because it was a bad game but because it never got released.

Ill never forget how hyped I was for Brink. Really thought its movement and customisation was the future of fps lol
Thank you. I was so hyped for Brink. I remember going to target and buying it first day it was out, and before the end of the day I was so let down. Probably the biggest let down of a game I've experienced . like I played Duke nukem forever when it came out and I actually enjoyed it alot and didn't understand why others didn't. Probably cause I was really young and in high school and thought the humor was hilarious . but Brink will always leave a bad taste in my mouth
OMG I was gonna write about brink I'm actually surprised to see it in the comments
Followed it's development for 3 years and bought it day one which I never do and was sooooo disappointed
@@noblecyborg-savage I didn't buy it on day 1,bcuz I wasn't aware it had a bot-mode & thought it was "multiplayer-only". So,by the time I found-out it could be played solo/offline,it had gone down in price some.
While,they ran around w/ all the "good stuff"(like Explosives/Rocket Launchers/grenades,etc...). I usually got killed,before I could find ANYTHING other than a grenade(if I even got /that/ lucky)...
Also, the offline-mode didn't even /allow/ U to have access to some of the weapons(about half were "online only"). Yet,the AI had all sorts of advanced weapons. Even, those I could /never/ have access to. That's just unfair... :(
BTW-If I had known it had bot-mode,I would've bought it day 1,also(I don't play online-only games,so a bot-mode is required). So,REALLY glad I didn't waste more money than I did...

Daniel Reyes I did worse decision I’ve made in my entire life.
i had a pretty good time with mass effect andromeda mostly because the combat was actually awesome and the characters had a lot of potential if, you know, they had like 2 more games to flesh them out, but that was the thing. the original mass effect series had 3 games worth of content and decisions that could impact the story and andromeda, since it was basically scrapping the original series, was always going to have none of that, so they needed to pack as much of the things that people liked about the trilogy into one game as possible, and they didn't do that. and now with the new mass effect game it looks like we're going back to the original setting, so.... here we go again.
Andromeda is probably the game I find the most fun out of this list.

Damn
That would fix the game - if the ai had been the only problem.

Why do nearly all of these disasters have EA in common
Because EA still to this day struggles to understand that the best way to get the money of gamers is to satisfy those gamers. Every time they succeed on something then manage to destroy it on the next attempt.
True
because to ea all games that aren't sports games a second tier games that they can make some extra money with.

10:34 OMG IVE ALWAYS WONDERED WHERE MY PS5 PROFILE PIC WAS FROM
I actually enjoyed unity. Sneaking into buildings with teams apart from everyone disconnecting from matches and ending the run
Yeah, honestly, Unity should be treated like he's treating No Man's Sky. They also worked like hell to make that game better, and it's now a worthy member of the franchise.
I liked it too
I personally enjoyed unity but if they gave it another year it would've been perfect
Same!!!!
I only clicked this video to see the cyberpunk comments that I knew would be here... my favorite definitely being the comment from 1 year ago saying "I just hope cyberpunk never ends up on a list like this" :D
me to xd
Called it.
Oh man.
After this video ended I got an ad for a game that flopped, ironic. The game in the ad is The Guild 3.
I wish I never bought Anthem, it’s a complete waste of money
I refunded it during the Beta i could tell it would suck
Aidansky An EA game... what did you expect?
Literally wish they gave us our money back
I waited because after playing the beta I figured it would be free on EA Acces pretty quick . . . yeah, it's free on EA Access
alex Debroux Thought it would be special but I guess not :/
Me: *looking at title*
Me: ok where's evolve
5:07
Me: *ahhh* there it is
I fucken miss that game so much
Same
Evolve was a great game.
Evolve was fun in short bursts, but after awhile just couldn't keep my attention personally
Me looking at the title well knowing the no man's sky was gonna be on it 😂
I got that sonic game as a gift when I got my ps3 for Xmas I was younger then and even I thought it was weird it just like felt awkward.
I enjoyed it otherwise,tho...
-Peace
I think “BRINK” should definitely be on this list! Who can agree lmao
Same with Call Of Duty Ghosts
@@fezzle1154 no b04
Dirty Bomb *was*: awesome though
That too
Brink was awesome, don't spout that dark magic shit here. Brink is god.
Your description on why unity flopped is the same as cyberpunk LMAO
@yesn't non't and unity has much better graphics, gameplay and imo less bugs than cyberpunk
@@MrBossFML Unity has much better graphics?Nope it has stunning lightning effects but to be honest Cyberpunk looks definitely better overall.
@@AFT_05G lol no, I'm not a big fan of that game but if you look of the graphics of it it looks much better, hell even watch dogs 2 looks better
Cyberpunk is worse then the moblie game ganstar vegas
@@MrBossFML not on pc :D
If you don't mind me asking. What was wrong with Sim city build it? I got hooked on it for a while. But on all fairness. I never played the previous titles
To defend Andromeda a bit.. the combat/weapon customizing was fun. And I don't remember the Angara(pat myself on the back for remembering their name) getting exploited at all? Unless you count getting permission to set up outposts on their planets? =\
