  • Athanasius Kircher, after an adventurous early life and a near-escape during the Thirty Years' War, became one of the greatest writers of his age. He also lowered himself into a volcano, believed in dragons, and had some very strange ideas about how toads and giraffes came into being.

Very interesting information. Some people are born to do the science while others made a complete mess of it. With the knowledge he knew and became famous for most of it, we should thank the scientists who still today do such a fantastic job. Lovely narrated and I'm looking forward to your next one. Thank you ♡♡♡

Absolutely! Even if Kircher was not a great inventor in his own right, he did spread knowledge to those who otherwise wouldn't have it and that is a good way to spend your time. You're so welcome!

He was the founder of the Rosicrucian order he is aldo known to have popularized the Kaballah amoung the Jesuits ....but he is without a shadow of a doubt a scholar with distinguished intelligence and scintillating intuition which is illustrated in complete expansive and focused spectrum in his literary outing entitled " theatre of the world"

I'm very glad you enjoyed it. And yes, even people in Kircher's own time suspected he made some of this up.

That he was. And it's all the more striking that he was a contemporary of Isaac Newton!
