    I never knew I needed a tripod as much as this. Definitely my next purchase.

    Very complete review, thanks. I've been looking at this set of legs and you helped me decide to buy it. One thought: those revolutionary rubber/spike feet have been around since I bought my first tripod 45 years ago.

      I concur, my Dad bought a Linhof tripod in 1960 with feet like that, so 'revolutionary' is the wrong word. I still own that tripod.

      Hah! I also thought I might have been taking crazy pills. I definitely had those feet on my first tripod 25 years ago.

    I love mine. In case not mentioned elsewhere you can remove the center column, flip it, and "hang" your camera at near ground level. Love your channel, thanks!

    I'm either getting this or the ifootage TC 7. Oh wow that bag is so clever such a good idea. Absolutely fantastic design

      Just a heads up after researching and watching a lot of videos I finally decided to go for TC7. im glad I've finally made up my mind. These ifootage tripods seem better then the equivalent Manfrotto tripods.

    Great review from a designer perspective.
    But, by the way, My Velbon tripod which is 15 years old has the same feet technology with rubber feet can be screwed to release the metal spins.... no innovation here.
    It has also a hook and the center colon can be unscrewed as well.
    It has also the locks to free the legs and make them lower by steps like this one.
    Some times I feel like people discover things and think they are innovation ...
    the real one good innovative feature is the integrated ball head to make the head horizontal for sure.
    Added to those very good features (even if they are not innovation, it’s very clever to put them all together) it makes this tripod a real good one for sure. Thanks again for this great review

    Ah yes, your other video was also the TC6, loved the detail you put into this video. Great job, I have to aspire to be so detailed :).

    Thank the youtube algorithm gods I found this video, which also let me find this tripod! I almost got the Peak Designs tripod and I'm so glad I didn't.

    Damn, I just got the iFootage Shark Slider Nano as a gift. Since this thing is so heavy I now need a good tripod. I didn't know that with something like a fluid head like the K5 now I need to pay the same price for the tripod ans fluid head. Totally worth it though!

    I am sure we've seen all these innovation before but... that bag! Good idea. Of course you can't review a tripod unless you use it for a year or two. So I might be back then to see the results!

    If only they made a ball head! I want to order the tripod but only if I can get a arca type ball head that fits it, suggestions welcome.

    Great review. I hope you can help: I have the TC6 and love it. However, I need longer spikes. Do you have any idea how to replace the spikes ? Can one remove the spikes ? Thank you.

    If you remove the mid axis pole when packing for travel it might fit inside luggage.

    The ability to have combination rubber and steel spike is now an ifootage innovation. I have been a professional photographer for 30+ years and I have a tripod that has both. Manfroto did this decades ago! Nothing new under the sun!

    hi, if you remove the center, is it possible to install only the hook?

    • @dominey

      That would be great, but no. It's part of the column.

    Why did you get the TC6 for travel when the TC5 breaks down smaller? Just curious

    • @dominey
      @dominey  4 роки тому +3

      Great question. I opted for the TC6 because its fully extended height is taller (about 6"). May not sound like much, but for a tall guy like me it makes a difference.

    The Gazelle TA6 is the same tripod except5 from aluminum and ony about 1 pound heavier and $180 rather than $300 if the extra weight does not bother you.

    Todd - great review video! One question. I have been comparing the TC7 to the TC6, and one of the comments I've seen elsewhere is that on the TC6, the bubble level tends to get covered up by whatever ball head you put on top of it. I'm currently using an Acratech GP-SS ball head, and I was wondering what your experience has been with this issue? If the bubble level gets covered up, then the leveling feature is mostly worthless from my perspective...your thoughts?

    • @brucecrair8818
      @brucecrair8818 4 роки тому +6

      Update: I ordered the TC5, and attached the Acratech GP-SS ball head, and it works just fine. That ball head is not very wide, and I can see the bubble level on the tripod perfectly. Would like to have it a bit bigger (my eyes are not as good as they once were!), but it's definitely not covered up. FYI.

    Nothing new about the feet. While its a good idea, tripod makers used it years ago. I had an old Vivitar tripod from the eighties that used this system among others.

    Once a while, bundles of so-called professional photographers review tripods to attract viewers, it would be a 5 minutes video rather than more than 5 to review technical issues, they just spend more time to boast whey they do. Which is a tripod? It depends one one's budget, willingness to spend, situation to use. Brand is not that important. Get the best one might not fit one's budget.

    the Manfrotto head won't fit in the ifootage monopod case, even with the extended option. It fits in length but doesn't fit in thickness.
