switching from Intel to M2 Pro MacBook Pro in 2024 - big mistake?

I finally decided to make the leap from my old Intel Core i7 Macbook Pro 2018. Nothing was wrong with it...so why did I switch? I put down close to $3000 to get this new Macbook Pro M2 Pro computer just because there was a great deal on it. Was that a mistake? Why not go with M3 or M3 Pro chip?

Currently also have a M2 MacBook Pro 14 inch with 16gb RAM and 512 SSD!!! This is my first week with it and upgraded from a 2019 Intel i9 MacBook Pro 16 inch. It's soooo much more smoother/snappy, the 14 inch display is a happy medium between the 13 and 16 inch, and the battery life INCREDIBLE!!! Highly recommend this machine to anyone

how does this i9 stand against a normal macbook air, sure the m1 pro is amazing getting deals on the i9 one which ar every similar to the m1 macbook air but this is a pro and air m1 is air, which one would be better, video editing mostly 8 bit iphone foootage or 8 bit camera footage, thanks

Refurbished 2018 for 410 bucks excellent condition 15 inch to 256 gigs 16 processor I don't do any video editing, but it works the same as my M2. I took it back. I'm not buying something way over priced over milliseconds
