- This is my new hot air station which is replacing my old Aoyue INT 852A
The 861DW is more popular but this is the higher power version so I thought I'd make a quick video review.

Nice video again Tony!We need more 486 stuff.Have a nice day!
Thanks a lot! I have a Pentium motherboard on the pipeline! 🙂 and still working on that 386 board which I made part 1 about.
Might check out the Atten ST-862D
I searched for a while before landing on the Quick but I understand the Atten is a valid alternative indeed.

Wonder how this one compares to the DW version
From my understanding the DW has a more reactive blower so it reacts much faster when speeding up and down. But clearly the DE needs a beefier blower. The rest is the same.
setting low air and temperature on channel 2 , is the solution to cool down the heater without parking on stand
It is. But I really don’t like that there is no way to stop it outside of the stand. I use a magnet around te handle, it fools the station thinking the handle is in the stand… it is a bit annoying though. Thanks for watching.

I watched a random video, one guy modified handle of quick 861 with switches and a remote control unit
@@sudheerm.s6792 Sounds like a good idea - not what you would expect from a not-cheap station though.
I think the Best BST-863 with @RandomHacks upgrade board is a better way to go. It is easy to change the air flow and temperature settings while the nozzle is away from the holder which solves a lot of your negative comments on the Quick station. Though the BST 863 does a bit lower air flow at 180 LPM.
Oh I saw that video, interesting. I don't think the massive airflow is such a feature tbh and yes, the inability to switch off the station unless the handle is back in the holder is annoying - as long as the constant speeding up to cool down. I think the Best is a good station, which one is best (ah-ha!) I can't say. I don't use mine very often so I can live with the downsides. To stop the airflow when the handle is not in its holder I use a small magnet to trigger the sensor inside the handle :)
What matters to me is that it seems to be accurate and even.
Thanks for watching!
Bought an ATTEN ST-862D, because Louis recommended it. Has 120 l/m and a button. ;)
I admit the button would be helpful! :) But I also like my 200L/s, when using large BGA nozzles it's useful. I am still happy with the Quick - but the missing button is a big deal indeed!
