I have the EQV300 from 2021 and I love it every day. My family and I drow it from Denmark to Monaco last summer and no one got sick from sitting in the back. The experience was great. 😊

Elderly, pregnant, disabled people prefer vans because its easy to get into and out of. The automatic doors which can be operated by the driver are also convenient for dropping kids off at school. In Asian countries we take corners very slowly so that passengers do not feel nauseous. The shifter is the most convenient i have ever used. I can easily shift from drive, neutral, to park, and back to drive when stuck in stop and go traffic, without taking my hands off the wheel. The v class is such a nice car.

Yes, finally it seems the designers are re-awaking up to what should have been done years ago (which also coincides with my firm convictions all along) that as far as bonneted Mercedes-Benz are concerned, there remains a place for the upright standing star as a timeless design feature to be kept available as a standard feature if not at least as optional specification upon the vehicle purchase. High time they do this as, frankly speaking, i grown sick & tired seeing too many of the new models like E-Class & below without the upright star above the bonnet ! The only valid excuse for not having the upright star in a Mercedes-Benz is if there's no bonnet in the model design i.e. the modern buses & coaches & cab-over-engine trucks & some van models.
The big coupes never had the upright star though. The C126 for example is beautiful with the star in the grille. Just like the SL:s. For everything else though I agree. It looks tacky on the sedans.
@@martinsvensson6884 The Pagoda, SEC, SL etc. these i interpret as Mercedes interpretation of 'old man's sports car' so probably they made exception for these models to hide the star under the bonnet line so the driver can focus more on the road driving these 'fast cars' in contrast to the more stately 'slower speed' saloon cars where the upright star serves as useful 'marker' to help the 'old man driver' keep his distance better from hitting anything in front as well as to remind the driver is driving a 'stately car' with 'presence' instead of a 'sports car' so that one's driving manners are adjusted to suit the type of vehicle being driven ?! Anyway irregardless, i don't consider myself as 'old man driver' yet but i've always preferred to drive a bonneted Mercedes-Benz with the upright star as the upright emblem has the psychological effect of making one 'feel good' & comfortable when driving a premium or luxury class automobile. As far as i'm concerned i don't like driving a bonneted M-B with no upright star as the 'standard' is then not there i.e. it then is more like driving some 'ordinary' car of which there exists so many brands out there to choose from !!
Why people choose a van over a sedan? Easy because getting out of a sedan is always a pain in the rear. Especially if you’re an older person pulling yourself up and out is uncomfortable and unpleasant. And personally driving is better in a sedan but riding if there’s a proper suspension setup the van is better.
There is a reason why Sprinter was never renamed as part of the V class. In 30 years they were not able to catch up with VW...and in some aspects even with the French when it comes to the V class cars.
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter is mainly as commercial van sector product, strictly nothing to do with the V-Class is under their 'personal wagon' segment...very different target markets. Hardly any product overlap except maybe in those cases where people looking for platform to build a campervan..in which case the obvious choice is the Sprinter or to lesser extend the Vito to work on instead.

@@alanmay7929 No as matter of fact (assuming you referring to the right person & have been following my trend of thoughts on Mercedes-Benz vehicles for the past 10+ years) I have NOT stated any likeness for glossy shiny surfaces. So your assumptions beliefs on what you think I stand for is not accurate, incorrect ! Matter of fact I don't mind saying it clearly that I never like (irregardless of what make of vehicle) anything which is too much shiny/glossy, excessive chrome, no blue instrument lighting etc. The newer Mercedes-Benz models in more recent times I actually do NOT quite like them as much as the older ones from 90's era..which is more to the standards I expect. Having said the above, I in overview nevertheless tend to still gravitate towards Mercedes-Benz because of my perception that they still tend to offer what I call the 'best compromise' products in the automobile sector overall speaking. That applies across the board i.e. their cars, vans, buses, coaches etc. Along the way there of course will have things in some their products which I clearly don't believe in or do not like..what that does is reduce my margin of preference for their brand/products but ultimately (so far at least provided they don't wander too far off course) I have never ruled out switching preferences for some other makes out there. Hope you now have broader understanding of how I see Mercedes-Benz, having been using their vehicles for hell of long time since 1972 when our 1st M-B an S-Class was purchased brand-new back then.
Yes i also don't like the so-called 'modern treatment' so unnecessary done on the dashboard of many these models the past even 10 to 15 years back !! I want less chrome, less glossy surfaces, use of amber coloured needles ONLY, use of warm-white character lighting instead !!
@@hseochin It was perfected with the classic MB dashboards from the 80/90's. Never experienced any glair from the sun anywhere in those. Then they decided to throw those values in the trash bin and make it worse. Less clear instrument gauges. Just for the sake of change.

Also should use big screen under the dashboard hood for centre console instead of just fixing a tablet-like small screen !
Ich bin für 25+ Jahre Mercedes-Benzes gefahren. Infolgedessen weiss ich, dass die gut gebaut sind--wie Panzer. Auch, das Fraulein in diesem Video ist niedlich--gut gemacht. 😊
Does the Rolls Royce Phantom have that same g-force experience that Thomas identifies as a problem for van passengers? I wonder if they could lower the van slightly, or reduce the roll in corners some how?
When in comes to building luxury vans the Japanese do it the best. This is not even on the same level with the Toyota Alphard/Vellfire or the Lexus LM. There is a lack of any type of entertainment or automated seat features which is not the same with the Lexus or Toyota. The pioneers of building luxurious vans will forever be Toyota and Lexus. This is however untrue when it comes to the S-class and the German sedans.
Now that the Mercedes-Benz Metris has been sunset in the USA… I would love to have the V-Class in America: for freight, for luxury transport, for large families and especially for #VanLife camping…especially as a 4Matic..!!
Please show another V-class Avantgarde for 8 seats. This is a unique option, because there is no alternative for 4 pairs of people. WV and Staria do not offer this. And there are no SUVs for 8 either.
If I had a Mercedes V class, I would have a few houses like that and Bigger and better main residence. V class Vans cater to ultra high clientele who usually also have personal security with them
In response to your question about whether I’d prefer being picked up from my villa in the South of France in an S-Class or a V-Class: I must say, the helicopter still wins for me. It offers a far superior view as I glide over my vineyards and the hedge maze my gardeners meticulously maintain for my personal amusement. My question to you: would you recommend the V-Class as a suitable starter car for my son? His 18th birthday is tomorrow, and yes, I’m cutting it close with the whole present thing. He’s not planning to drive much-we’ll probably get him a chauffeur soon-but we think it’s important for him to experience driving himself first. You know, we really want him to grow up grounded, like any other normal kid.
I think that is kind of cool... However I don't think that we will get them in the states. We have an E450 being built at the end of the week, and might order an S Class as well. But this van could come in handy.
What the V-Class lacks are more engine options, a V6 and/or a V8 Diesel would have been perfect, one other thing Mercedes should add to this car, is the possibility to choose a Brake upgrade, a 2 split brake disk whit 6 pot Brembo caliper in front, and 4 pot on rear + det same in Carbon Ceramic. I have the 2020 whit 239hp..crusing in 180km/h at 2000rpm.
I am not sure you can compare this to the S-class to your question in the beginning. If you have a family of >4 persons then this really make sense. I have this car with 3 kids and I love it :-)
I think V-Class platform and overall suspension is still based on V-Class for Commercial Van... hence why the comfort can't match the S-Class or Lexus LM... While the Lexus LM platform is based from Toyota Camry (basically they used a large sedan platform and make it a Luxury Van)
V-Class i expect (as standard) air suspension not coil spring ordinary suspension so in that regard S-Class of course nowadays come standard with air suspension. I remember those Toyota Priva egg shaped MPV...absolutely lousy commercial van like suspensions..no standard at all compared to even the 1st gen V-Class with self leveling button controlled air suspension, say the least.
In Bangkok, my family have one 2020 V-class and 2019 Vito, they are strong and reliable but their platform is too old. NVH, comfort, dynamics can not match the new Lexus LM and Toyota Alphard. The new V-class still share most of car structure with the old V, I don’t think this V can match both LM and Alphard.
If comparing 4-cylinder (petrol/diesel) model to 6-cylinder petrol model then of course the NVH levels unlikely would match. Your V-Class should be 6-cylinder (even if diesel model) then would be interesting to find out the NVH with other makes V6 etc. Also air-suspension should be standard for supreme passenger comfort levels. Mercedes vans known for competent road manners dynamics so not surprise they make good ambulances in many countries worldwide with their excellent high speed stability, even with the bigger heavier Sprinter vans.
Its a design/material flaw. This wouldn’t happen if the animal wouldn’t be that slick, also you saw that the Lexus model has different economics where it doesn’t happen
@@autogefuehl I know, I was just suggesting a work round that’s not ideal. However if Mercedes could have tilted the base of the seat slightly, the seating position would be a lot more relaxing and comfortable.
I don't have the villa in the south of France, but I do have the S-class (V223) and l don't understand how one can even entertain the idea of comparing an S-class to a van 😮. Some keywords: sound isolation, suspension, seat comfort, design .... What is better in the van is that there are actually some physical control buttons; Mercedes really overdid it with touch controls in the S-class 😮💨
That's hillarious to see manual adjustments in a car over 100K. 😂 You can buy the regular V class in Uzbekistan and turn into a way better version of the car in the video for 20K on top, everything would be automatic, the seats would recline all over to the back, there would be additional tables in the seats to work, a lot of additional USB slots and, of course, there wouldn't be those ridiculous cords from the seats that would only prevent from loading the trunk and might be easily damaged by suticases.
Unfortunately, there is a significant difference between the S Klass and the V Klass vehicle and this difference is detracting from the V Class. namely, it is an engine in the V classes, the engines are miniature in relation to the car's weight and dimensions, the S class offers something proportional to the interior equipment in this matter It's a pity that such a luxurious van only has engines suitable for the C class, maybe also the E class I hope this will change someday.
The solution must be something in between as Ford Galaxy etc (sadly not in production anymore). Unfortunately, marketing won, engineering (and common sense) lost.
The styling is still too close to a commercial van. The Toyota and Lexus vans look 2 generations from the future. Mercedes still has to up its game in this segment.
Cant they make a new R-class...? Just dont make it as ugly as possible this time and maybe it will sell... I dont really like the full height of a van. Just rolls over when you crash them. And driving characteristics suffer. The R was suitable in between. Not higher than necessary. Nice to just have a bit higher up seating than a regular car when stepping in and out.
Come on Thomas, the LM has a vastly superior front cockpit and doesn't have a manual steering column with a crumpled newspaper underneath! German-bias again!

I'm thrilled to see the star on the hood!
There is a company who converts the bigger sprinter vans into executive mobile luxury lounge/office very expensive and fancy 200k type prices iirc
I was thinking of those immediately. Even those are „completely“ bespoke.
Perfecto to go surfing in Portugal ❤
Mercedes what have you done to the dashboard
It looks better than the worst ones at least. Those that have a big annoying glaring screen in the middle also.. and no buttons.
@@martinsvensson6884 Exactly..change for the change sake without real point to change.. that's the problem ?! In many ways I continue to like prefer the 'old' designs from W124/210/140. They should just keep the looks same but inside make the improvements like using flat panel display to replace the physical dial & needles. Also should use big screen under the dashboard hood for centre console instead of just fixing a tablet-like small screen !
Great video, can you please do a video comparing the v220d vs V250d vs v300d
Thank you very much.
We enjoyed yours from Japan.
🙏🙏
Now that the Mercedes-Benz Metris has been sunset in the USA…
I would love to have the V-Class in America: for freight, for luxury transport, for large families and especially for #VanLife camping…especially as a 4Matic..!!
Does the 2024 Lexus LM compete with this, or are they worlds apart?
Please show another V-class Avantgarde for 8 seats. This is a unique option, because there is no alternative for 4 pairs of people. WV and Staria do not offer this. And there are no SUVs for 8 either.
Obviously, the view out from the V-class will be much better - and that counts for a lot on long journeys
If I had a Mercedes V class, I would have a few houses like that and Bigger and better main residence.
V class Vans cater to ultra high clientele who usually also have personal security with them
XD stop drinking
Normal car, it is only like ~15k eu more expensive than new tourneo custom in normal version
S class all the way!
7 series for me
The only advantage of this over the LM - its more likely to get an armoured version.
Here for Leah. Oh wait... I forgot... cars too
V Class its a solution for active people for example to tow racing car, and take all racing stuff, do the same with S class
Wow it has so much space it allows to get head conveniently👌
I think that is kind of cool... However I don't think that we will get them in the states. We have an E450 being built at the end of the week, and might order an S Class as well. But this van could come in handy.
Lovely, more Leah 😅
Great content fir the channel 👍👍👍
What the V-Class lacks are more engine options, a V6 and/or a V8 Diesel would have been perfect, one other thing Mercedes should add to this car, is the possibility to choose a Brake upgrade, a 2 split brake disk whit 6 pot Brembo caliper in front, and 4 pot on rear + det same in Carbon Ceramic.
I have the 2020 whit 239hp..crusing in 180km/h at 2000rpm.
Cracking Van man but will it live on
This thing will outsell the S class in a couple of years if it's available in all countries
Coole Auto, coole Shue. Wo hast du die gekauft?😊
Danke dir! Die genauen gibt's leider net mehr, aber schau mal hier: www.avocadostore.de/herren/business-schuhe
@@autogefuehl Vielen Dank, gucke ich deine Videos auch auf russisch:)
🙌🙌
I am not sure you can compare this to the S-class to your question in the beginning. If you have a family of >4 persons then this really make sense. I have this car with 3 kids and I love it :-)
Century SUV FTW
Beautiful super classy 👌👌👌👌👌
Nice Beatle boots!
Please review the stellantis group vans ! Peugeot traveller!
This car doesn't have active lane keeping assistant, only a beeper warning
The newest release does have active lane assist
I would pick the van
Come on, be realistic, the Lexus LM is an incomparably better fancy people carrier, this Mercedes is just a commercial vehicle regardless of upgrades.
It drives marvelously. It feels like a sporty wagon.
Eine Maybachversion wäre geil.
13:21 nice legs on the right passenger!
Sliding down the seat in the reclined position? Simply slide the rear seat forward so your feet will stop you sliding down the seat.
Gotcha!
Manual boot closing! 😄
S class 👌
I don't have the villa in the south of France, but I do have the S-class (V223) and l don't understand how one can even entertain the idea of comparing an S-class to a van 😮. Some keywords: sound isolation, suspension, seat comfort, design .... What is better in the van is that there are actually some physical control buttons; Mercedes really overdid it with touch controls in the S-class 😮💨
Is there an electric version of this van?
EQV Class expected with further enhancements from the existing series..
The new 2024 kia carnival for me
Mercedes plans to have a Maybach version of the next generation V-class
Seems very ok
Please do AMG Line vclass
Nice 💚🇸🇦
not choosing between the s class or v class, i buzz is more interesting 😀
That's hillarious to see manual adjustments in a car over 100K. 😂 You can buy the regular V class in Uzbekistan and turn into a way better version of the car in the video for 20K on top, everything would be automatic, the seats would recline all over to the back, there would be additional tables in the seats to work, a lot of additional USB slots and, of course, there wouldn't be those ridiculous cords from the seats that would only prevent from loading the trunk and might be easily damaged by suticases.
No executive would be arsed to manually slide and lock those seats and foot rests
Lexus LM
Unfortunately, there is a significant difference between the S Klass and the V Klass vehicle and this difference is detracting from the V Class. namely, it is an engine in the V classes, the engines are miniature in relation to the car's weight and dimensions, the S class offers something proportional to the interior equipment in this matter
It's a pity that such a luxurious van only has engines suitable for the C class, maybe also the E class
I hope this will change someday.
Klassen v-class is still a better option, has more luxuries :)
The dash could be from any chinese luxury car .... Qualoty on some is even better... No overstatement
Four Wheel Steering???
Nope
Lexus LM/T.Alphard > V-class.
Is it just me? You don't drive in the back seats, you ride.
Too bad we can’t have it in North America.
The solution must be something in between as Ford Galaxy etc (sadly not in production anymore). Unfortunately, marketing won, engineering (and common sense) lost.
i can stand like 10 seconds seeing it..
S-class.
what a beautiful lady! she has graced this review :)
Merc Quality is just crap.
I'll never ever buy a Merc again.
Nah I’d still rather take the new Lexus LM. That feels more exclusive and even less expensive.
If you want a van just buy a VW or Ford and save thousands
