Black hair doesn't fit kurama at all, the whole point of his character is that he is a subversion of a demon, and black hair isn't subversive for a demon
My theory was, that Yusuke made a fashion choice to be mkre distinguished. The way Fresh Prince turned his jacket around in that Bel Air private school. It made sense ti me, because Yusuke is a rebel at heart.
Kuwabara is also out of dress code, Sarayashiki uniform is dark blue. But kuwabara is light blue. I think it was the animation team to make yusuke more rebellious and kuwabara only slightly rebellious in comparison. IN the manga its implied the uniforms are just dark or black. So it was clearly the anime team idea.
i do personally prefer the artistic choice of changing colour palletes on a whim, but in the world of marketing, stuff looking iconic is important for getting money, lol. though, if i was in charge of the next Yu Yu Hakusho adaptation, i would probably just give all four protagonists black hair, as it's my preference. not only does it look nice, but it would get attention from anime-only fans seeing the new adaptation, getting them chattering out of confusion. that's marketing, babyyyy
I read the manga before I knew there was an anime so I always assumed everyone had black hair except Kuwabara since Togashi didnt fill in his hair with ink lol
Well, Slam Dunk, Jujutsu Kaizen, Bleach etc didn't have this issue lol..I would have preferred if Yusuke wore the same color of uniform as Kuwabara but it is what it is.
Interesting that this would later influence gon's color scheme
I thought he was rebellious, because had a different color. Thanks for sharing this information, of one my favorite of all time anime.
Thanks for watching! And I can see why people would think that.
The series that made made me anime fan 😁💚
That's awesome!

Because every other character is red and their rival some kind of blue. Yusuke from the get go isn’t your average shonen protagonist
Out of curiosity what is that white triangle headband I’ve seen on Yuske several times.
It fiction, old folklore/stories, ghosts or the dead are usually depicted wearing a white triangle shaped cloth on their forehead.

Red and white are very heroic colors , Yusuke Green makes him stand out more
I agree. As a friend of mine once said "he's the green ranger" lol
Keep cooking, chef

@@ayakuweb when you say it like that, considering Kuwabara's a delinquent, he probably does have his hair dyed blonde lol
