Thank you Bob for another great build so easy to under stand and follow its a pleasure watching the video's Thanks again still saving to do my first project
i love your videos and love watching you build them Ive been doing models my whole life and would love to build one of these rc trucks but just cant afford one there way to much money for me would love to give it a try once though oh well keep up the great work look forward to the next vid
Hi bob, I got a grand hauler, i just installed a MFC-01 and everything works perfect except the MFC side of the transmission still controlling the speed on the motor side, while i have the transmission shifting servo on the fs-i6x (SWC) 3 position switch. Trans shifts properly but i have no power from the motor due to forward and reverse (ch3) having to move left and up for 1st, middle and up for 2nd and right and up for 3rd. Is there a way to move the funcions from (ch3) to the shift switch (SWC) ? Thanks
Hey bob. I just finished building my grand hauler with mfc 01. I watched all your videos, It was extremely helpful. I was having an issue with shifting gear, and I removed the linkage from servo to transmission. Now without the linkage all 3 gear still change whenever I want to. Am I doing something wrong? I purchased mfc01, 80T motor and a few other items from your store. Thank you
Hi Bob first off love your builds always very good. I'm get a long hauler & haven't decided on a radio yet. Was looking at futaba or spectrum 6 channel. I also like look of the turnigy/flysky fsi-6. Can you use a range of receivers with those units.
My favorite is the Turnigy because of the cost and tit's easy to make the left stick center. Also the 3 position toggle switch has a long handle and is just the right place for easy shifting. You can buy extra receivers for it. 2nd would be the Spektrum 6e. Esay to center the left stick without mods. The radio is a lot more expensive and the 3 position switch is not in the best location but it works. Futaba I have no idea.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC ok thanks for replying, think I'll get the flysky which I think is same as turnigy. I should have said grand hauler not long hauler.
Also is it possible with this MFC to mimic engine trouble? Like at start up if you hold a certain key on the radio it will sound as if the truck has trouble starting up?
@@TeriWilde I see. So MFC 03 is like the Servonaut SM 7? Sound wise is it recommended to be used on American trucks like the king Hauler, Aeromax, Cascadia and grand hauler? I mean is the sound to scale? I hope Tamiya can upgrade the MFC 01 to have the newer features
Great tutorial! i need some help though. I setup a radiolink AT9s and everything works like in your video problem is sometimes while driving it the truck engine cuts off and stays off no sound and i cant drive truck. and red power light truck blinks. there is some combination of the stick input that is shutting it off. the only way to get truck running again to shut switch off then back on then it work fine until next shutoff. i tend to notice it does it more when i go backwards. any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi Bob will the speaker fit in the motor area? I have the factory seats, dash, sterring wheel and made a shifter and pedal assembly I cant wait to get my kit and run my truck I have the box trailer too that will need lights
The MFC turns lights on/off in order. The fog lights come on before the headlights. I could use a spare radio channel to turn them on/off and the radios I use have a spare channel. That way the fog lights could be off and the headlights on.
Nice. Quick question, is it safe to change gears on this model on the run? I can't remember exactly but one tamiya semi truck said that you should not shift gears on the run as it will wear out the gear box?
@@TeriWilde Great. Thanks for the info. I always thought it was not good for the gears to shift them on the run. Same for the bruiser and mountain rider?
Just purchased the Grand hauler black edition, the 6 inch frame ext with axles. I have not purchased the mutifuntion kit. Will the wires be long enough for the 6 inch ext?

Great video - really enjoyed the process of the install !
Do you have a video about wiring trailer lights? Really love your videos. Please keep them coming!
I will do one soon. I want to do motorized legs, lights and remote couple/uncouple all at once.

Lucas, email me. My email is in the description of all my videos.
What I want to know is, how do you remember which switch does each function???????
Looking awesome.

Yes, they are the same. Be sure to watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/UyfDsQWaJRo/v-deo.html

Actually sounds like either a low battery or a steering servo that the MFC does not like.
Hi Bob , what battery to buy for this truck and charger ?
Hi Bob will the speaker fit in the motor area? I have the factory seats, dash, sterring wheel and made a shifter and pedal assembly I cant wait to get my kit and run my truck I have the box trailer too that will need lights
Yes, the speaker will fit. I have a video on how to do it. Just check my video list.
I did not know you could use a lipo battery with this setup! What kind of lipo are you running?
You can use 2-cell Lipo's. The MFC does not have a low voltage cutoff so you have to keep tabs on your battery.
Hi Bob , I wonder if it's possible to switch off the foglights without turning off the other lights ?? 🤔
The MFC turns lights on/off in order. The fog lights come on before the headlights. I could use a spare radio channel to turn them on/off and the radios I use have a spare channel. That way the fog lights could be off and the headlights on.

Yes, you can shift on the run just fine.

Hello Sir, Great video BTW, What would you charge me to install my light unit for me? It's been nearly 3yrs now I been waiting to install this unit.
Contact me at jacobsenra@hotmail.com
hello, if you would like to put extra lights or for example rotating lights, is this possible and how would you recommend to do this?
I will actually have a video on this soon. I would use a spare channel on the radio and an electronic switch.
@@HobbyconceptsLLC Fantastic thanks !! I cant wait!! i'm building my first Tamiya and your video's have helpt me so much.
great vid

The wires will be too short. Easy to cut them and extend. Use about 30awg wire.
Backup alarm? Didn't here that
It's hard to hear on the video but it is there!
Oh ok that's what makes realistic
To Save money can I use a house hold cleaner
OMG!!
