- Classic Car Republic finds a 25 year old bottle of Mer Polish at the back of the garage and tests it to see if the old liquid can still 'cut it'.
I've just polished my Mazda 3 using Mer. I started off with an old blue container of Mer which I bought at least 15 years ago. The contents still looked good and had not broken down in any way. It worked well although I had to keep going back and buffing slight smearing which it looked like I had missed at the first attempt. The finish was superb though. I then used a later black container which I bought maybe 6 years ago. This worked much better without any hint of smearing and the finish is brilliant. I still have enough left to do the car again in the future. I'm surprised that it's not available anymore ,as it's as good (or slightly better) as anything else I have used polish wise.
I just found a bottle of Mer that I bought around 1990 at Blackbushe Market! It’s just done the most incredible job on my car too. They used to recommend you do it just a couple of times a year and in between just a regular wash. It’s a genuine concentrated polish - not mixed/diluted like many of today’s offerings.
I remember this stuff. Always on sale at big shows. Pretty good as I recall. Another great video!👏🏻👏🏻
Great video, I used this product my self years ago with great results. I'm sure I seen a demo in the King's Hall, Belfast where they light an old car bonet and then brought it back to life using Mer. What type electric polisher did you use?
Great polish . Wish you could still get it. They re marketed it later in black containers , but I didn’t like it so much. Now not available in shops anymore , pity really . It’s a swine when you get attached to certain brands of goods and then they no longer exist 😢
Mer superwas its a dutch brand and still exists , u can buy it
Could have done a pre wash first?
