You guys releasing these videos early in the day in the middle of the week make it really tough to not start bourboning at 9am!😅
You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.
My New Years resolution was to not spend more than $100 on a bottle and as of 6/21/23 I am still good on that
Stick to sagamore
Are you including tax?
Tax never counts against a booze budget.

We live 5 minutes from the Michter’s distillery and they’re both going for close to $200. Maybe a few years back they were cheaper but I’d say impossible to find the 10yr for $150
You’re right Bucky! Wonder which year they were sipping on both!
Correct. Michter's 10yr are $199 at the distillery. Probably more in random liquor stores.
Love the honest reviews and positive critiques! Thanks for always being honest and classy with your reviews! Looks like the 10yr Bourbon is trading at over $400 on secondaries. I will have to pass on that price point. Maybe I'll get lucky someday and find it for something reasonable.
I like videos like this because I get to see how these higher priced bottles taste. They are not in my budget but maybe one day. Till then I’m just drinking vicariously through the both of you.
A lot of allocated bottles are very hard to get in WA and are often double srp or more. I fell in love with Michter's when I visited KY last year. I got extremely lucky to get a bottle only a little higher than srp and am saving it for my 1 yr anniversary with my wife later this year. Awesome review fellas!
I feel your pain brother! Being a fellow Washingtonian I have to go to Oregon to pay MSRP as I'm sure you do too.
Agreed. Generally much higher prices, then you add Washington's grab-your-ankles tax.
@@Abby_Normal_1969I shop online but hit up the local stores just in case. I got an eh Taylor single barrel at less than 95 dollars including our horrid tax. You can get lucky. I just tell the employees I’ll open it so they know I’m not a reseller..Hell if it’s a great deal I give them a try if they want. Also snagged a Blantons for $68 before tax at Safeway a few weeks ago
@tysony8785 - wow. Pretty nice. I look weekly when I can. There is a QFC in Redmond that gets those maybe once or twice a quarter. I have missed them when they are in.
So, speaking of dropping $150, last night (6/20), I get an email from Virginia ABC saying I have won a chance to buy Blanton's straight from the Barrel for $149.99+tax. So after a few "Holy Moley I can't believe I won!" I look to see if y'all have reviewed it. And my luck holds and y'all are trying regular Blanton's, a store pick, and the straight from the barrel. THANK GOD y'all like the barrel and thought the price point was good because I DEFINITELY can't drop that cash on trash because this is definitely way out of my normal range. So now I gotta buy a glencarin for this unicorn lol. Thanks for the info and the videos.
I was lucky enough to grab both the 10yr 23 Michters as my first $150+ bottles and the bourbon is by far my favorite pour I’ve had this year. Fantastic stuff
Glad to see you did the blood oaths review, was offered the bottle at one for my store that I frequent visit for $200 ,so happy I passed on it , I've seen a few reviews that were the same as your put me at peace about it . And as far as the mickters that's a road I don't want to go down for some reason.
It was pushing it at 100 honestly. Its good but not that good.
When I hit the KY bourbon trail last year, Michter’s 10 was easlily in the top 3 bourbons I tried. Only two that were possibly better were GTS and 4R LE. The low entry proof on the Michter’s 10 really allows it to shine at lower proof. Simply spectacular whiskey!
Just picked up a bottle of Michter's 10 yr. Really looking forward to having a pour. This review elevated my excitement even more.
Michters regular rye is in my top 3 favorites. So I could only imagine how much I'd love this bottle. If I ever found for MSRP, I might think about dropping the money on that

Mitchers 10 year rye from last year is the best rye i have drank. It is spectacular whiskey!
I love watching you guys reviews. Do a really good job. I’d like to see and hear your broadcast with better microphones and acoustics. Thank you for your hard work
M10R has increased to $200 msrp and the M10B is $185 msrp. If you find them at 2021 price of $150 buy them all!😃
Glad you guys felt the same way I did about the '23 M10 bourbon. It's like they laced it with crack or something. It's a different experience.
Just a thought. If you don't want to spend $150 on a moderate proof whiskey that flavor purchases way above its proof, I recommend Old Forester 1910.
This years release of the M10 Bourbon may be the best ever. M20 junior vibes
Flavor drift is one of the biggest things I like to compare.
Had someone try to sell Blood Oath to me for $220. Glad I didn't jump on it. I have Pact 5 and Pact 8. Trying to get 2 more bottles (for kids weddings). Will try next year for a different finish.
Thanks for the informative video guys. But, a few things: 1) it would be nice if you actually did some close ups of the labels, especially on these special release bottles (most other whiskeytubers do so). Obviously I don't need a close up of your average drinker. It would be nice to see the actual details of year and proof; 2) What releases are these? 2023? 2022? I saw one place selling the 2015 release, so I have no idea if we're talking apples to oranges here; 3) Those aren't remotely $150 bottles. I checked out several of my normal places, including big stores that don't gouge, and the best price is $400 (LIMIT ONE). So absent your liquor store connections, or Trenton's ability to stake out stores, in reality those bottles are over double the stated price.
Enjoying the channel!
Curious to know what year you guys are sipping on because the M10 rye from 2023 is stellar! Also 99% sure the msrp was 185-195$
Another great review gentlemen, I sure hope we can find some of those Michters allocated offerings in Alberta
I have one liquor store in my area that seems to have one bottle at a time of the Sagamore Rye Sherry Finish. I’ll keep picking them up as long as I see them there.
I was really interested in hearing your take on the Blood Oath Pact 9. I managed to get a bottle of the Pact 8, and thought it was wonderful! Glad to know I don't have to chase this one as hard.
Grabbed a M10 recently, haven’t opened it yet . Now I am excited
I've heard nothing but great things about that Michters 10-Year Bourbon. My wife and I are heading to Kentucky in August - hoping to swing by the gift shop and get lucky.
Cheers!
Or, get lucky and then swing by the gift shop😂
Just won a raffle to get a Michter's 10 and had to come back and rewatch your thoughts on it. Super excited now!
Being honest, I have never spent over $100 for a bottle of bourbon. If I happen to run into a chance to buy a bottle of the Michter's 10 year bourbon, I will probably take the plunge on it at $150. Michter's is so good at getting great flavors out of lower proof whiskey that I don't think I would be able to pass that one up.
Agree on your take of the blood oath 9. Was able to find a bottle, and while its good, i wouldnt buy it again
Just a heads up that the title has “Mitcher’s” instead of “Michter’s”
Maybe that was intentional though..
Either way, cheers!
Was just in Louisville and now wish I would have went back for a M10B myself. We did get the Fort Nelson BSB so I’m not too upset but your review of a baby GTS has me wanting one now.
Great review! What Batch letter and number is your M10B?
I WISH I could get that Michter’s 10 year bourbon for $150. I saw it today for $500! Ridiculous and a hard pass. The mushroom note is probably the sulfur note common to wine finishes. Thanks for the video. I’m sure I’ll never see these at a reasonable price, but it was a fun watch.
From now on, I need the double head nod at the end before you close out. It’s quintessential
I bought a bottle of Blood Oath Pact 7 . I over paid and I will never, ever buy another Blood Oath product again. It is undrinkable. When I drove past the distillery while on the Bourbon Trail, I wished I had the bottle to throw through the CEO and master distiller's window. It was that bad.
Pact 2 was delicious. I haven't thought highly of any of them that I've tried since.
Blood oath pact 7 was really good imo
I got lucky enough to try a pour of Blood Oath. Thought it was fantastic! Hard to cough up that kind of change though.
Hey Kurt,
how about a LIST of bourbon with the highest level of VISCOSITY?
$150?? The cheapest I've seen any of these is the rye for $250 + tax which comes out to over $270ish . (Brooklyn)
I got mine for $170 in PA which is a controlled state.
Paid 195$ but got very lucky, north eastern NY
That Michter’s rye is most likely contract distilled, likely by brown Forman. It’s definitely not mgp since it says Kentucky on it. It could be their distillate since they started distilling 10 years ago but it’s likely older than that, making it contract distilled. They’ve never sourced anything, either contract or their own.
Not I could spend that much. Did have a pour of 4 gate this weekend. Free😊 it was Great. Thanks for the info.
Trenton and Kurton love their Micht’s
My Michters sour mash REALLY opened up once I got a little air in the bottle. 👍🏻
Trenton, "I'm starting to get old".... Lol.... Just wait my friend, I pray you get to feel what old really feels like.... Prayers up ❤️🙏
I enjoy you channel, but let me say All in All I can not extrapolate that $150 bottle would be much better than a $40-$50 bottle, I have paid $40 for Eagle Rare 10 at the distillery, I bad $44 E.H Taylor BIB at the distillery, I paid $65 For Single Barrel Russell Reserve , I paid $38 for Maker Make 46, I paid $56 for 1.75L of knob Creek 9, I paid $75 for a Knob creek 12 yr., I have also bought Elijah Craig (normal) and Larceny (normal), Maker Mark, WT101, Early Times BIB. I paid $45 for Willett Pot Still Reserve. I like all on my list. I do not know which I will have at 9:00 PM tonight or tomorrow or the night after that.
Never know till you try it
If you get these for $150 you have special connections! Us normal folks only see these for $450 PLUS
Michters is 300 and up in many places in CT
We just had the Spirit release in BC and that Michter's 10 Bourbon was $310.00 MSRP. It was gone to the first 6 people in line. Definitely sought after. Maybe I will get one someday. Appreciate the review
That is cheap comparted to Last Drop Signature Blend Whisky No 28 in the Signature Release....it clocks in at $5,700
Too bad they didn’t make it further west. I was at Kelowna and Kamloops but they didn’t get any Michters 10. What was nice was that there were items left over from the preorder that were just put on the shelf. We picked up our preorders and grabbed some JD single barrel barrel proof BCL picks off the shelf too.
@@chargerguy74 You were lucky, I picked up one barrel strength but most others in the bourbon category were long gone.
We dropped some mad facts back here lol
How about a 10 year comparison of Michters and Jack Daniel?
FYI - The michters 10B is speculated to have 12-16 year bourbon in it. When they didn’t have a release in 2021 they said the bourbon is “well over the age necessary”. I think you can taste it as well, there’s no way that’s only 11 year old bourbon
In MI Michters 10 years rye $200 MSRP. I had a chance to purchase for $225, but passed. I think is good rye, but way overpriced. For $150 I would definitely buy this bottle
Just paid $249.99 for the Blood Oath #9 last one on Maui. All the prices are very low…
I have to agree that I wished BO released their formula percentage. Since each pact release is different, you're going in a little blind as to what to expect. Especially for the price.
Find Same Old Moses PX sherry cask strength 4 grain!! Best 60 dollar bottle I've ever bought!
To taste either of the two Michter's in NC, the aftermarket is $450+++
have you guys have any info on a bottle called Rare Hare 1953
Great Video!!
Trenton looked like he needed a cigarette after the first sip of the Michter’s 10 bourbon!
Great job guys for tempting me to buy a $ 150 bottle of Bourbon.. You guys are tasting it so it’s as close as I will be able to have. LOL. 18:27
Michters... they're alright. I like them, but they're a bit too proud. They chill filter and they're secretive about everything... they won't tell you their cooperage, they won't tell you their mash bill. There are so many things that go into the product besides a mash bill and a barrel. Even an identical mash bill, cooperage, yeast, etc... it will still be different.
Guys great video.
I’d love to know Trenton’s thoughts on Dalmore 12 year sherry finished whiskey! Is it better on ice or mixed or Just neat?
The whiskies fine, but with dalmores antics i prefer not to give them my money.
Crazy to see many of you from US writing in the comments $250-300 for M10R. Where I live in Norway we have very high alcohol taxes and only goverment owned stores selling liquor and yet here the price is $239.
Dropping mad facts lol
Camera audio ain’t too bad. Don’t worry about it !
I did think it had a slight echo. Won't stop me from watching.
Honestly in what world is M10 150 bucks, the rye is 220 msrp at the local grocery store after being years of a good customer and begging maybe they’ll let you get one single bottle at 220
Im sorry but i can't see myself paying 150 bucks for a 10 year old bottle of Michter's when theres Russell's Reserve, Eagle Rare, and Widow Jane available everyday for far less. 🥃
IMO, R.R. And widow Jane aren’t even in the same league
Me too. The place I was at last night was pouring the 10 year small batch for $200 a shot. Crazy!
I hear what you're saying. However, if I can be relatively sure that it's absolutely amazing, I'd pay the money.
Good question where to find Michter's(s) even for $150! Was able to buy officially only for $189+tax!!!
@@coltonr5741agreed with a minor caveat. Regular RR10 is not in that league. However, I’ve found some 9+ year RR SiB store picks that are fantastic. Around $70-75
Trying my best to hunt down a Michters 10 bourbon. Everything I find is gone in seconds, secondary gone in mins and less than that in store.
You can tell by the counters and number of bottles these are super rich people.
"I haven't gotten to the mushrooms yet"
- Kurt 2023 -
Did y'all actually pay $150 for the Michter's 10s? Looks like that's a significant discount from msrp.
Probably the 2020/2021 maybe the 22 msrp is around 200$ for 2023
At the current pricing i wont be buying any of these personally. Just too much money for what youre getting and too much good whiskey for less.
my conspiracy theory is that Old Forester bought back a bunch of casks for the Old Forester 1924 release :P (Michter's apparently sourced from Old Forester)
I got my Michters US-1 Bourbon for 29.99
I did a tasting here in Tampa with the Michters reps and they sold us bottles in packages. Absolutely was happy to buy two of each of the 10 yr and would do it again! Delicious.
I totally miss read that price in the thumbnail i thought it said $1,500 not $150. Though it would be interesting to see you guys taste a $1,500 bottle of something. Scotch perhaps?
I would love to try the michters 10 but I can't justify myself paying that much For a low proof.
I wouldn’t hold on to the “proof” of the whisky as a selling factor, when you have reviews to rely on. Proof point can be marketing fluff, IMHO if your bottle is poor you sell the proof.
If the product has the depth of flavour to be worth the price then why not buy it and enjoy?
@kellydrover1994 yes but in my years of experience more proof is always more flavor id rather not pay higher price for more water id rather taste it at the true cask strength
@MrStreetninja007 don't tell me you put it on ice...
@@jolkraeremeark6949 never
Don't let proof put you off trying or purchasing these. I don't have the M10 bourbon (yet) but have several bottles of the M10 Rye. It's simply one of the most enjoyable and well crafted rye whiskeys available and will always be a buy for me at msrp.
I don't know if you have done it before but how about give us a tour of your bar it looks interesting
Yes, they did a tour of the bar a while back.
@@deankruse4491 cool thank you for letting me know
HEEEEEELLLLL NO!!!! So many great bottles for under 100$ These companies are getting so greedy. Another great review tho boys!!!
Agree 💯
I paid like $200 for my michters
Me too, and that was at Michters.
Thats the current msrp
the michters 10 this user is great bourbon
Trenton is right the Sagamore sherry for like half price crushes blood oath. BO is hardly ever worth it’s msrp it should be about a 70 dollar bottle
You know you can get a 12 year scotch for $70 right??
I paid $120 for Blood Oath, you guys are a bit higher in your parts
I can get a 12 year scotch for $70. Never had those burbons but why pay those insane prices?
Blood oath pact 9 is the weakest allocated bottle I’ve had this year. I’ve gone back to it 4 times and there’s just nothing to it. If it was a $50 bottle, I’d say go for it.
I think you’re right and the secret is out. This was on table 1 of the last Alabama ABC allocation drop and people were walking past it long after all the other table - items were gone. Just not a lot of fans out there.
Not there for me yet. Still too rich for my wallet 🇺🇲 Cheers🥃
Worth $150 EACH? Michters 10 (B or R) is twice that price in stores that I have seen, so ... there is that.
Great
OK so I see you announced yourself as Kurt and then Trenton instead of Trenton announcing U Kurt when you are his dad.
I like that much better.
Wait the rye is not even their own juice? If I heard that correctly. Why pay that kind of money on ten year whiskey when you can get others for much less. Plus it’s impossible to find. I’ll pass. Enjoy!!
Nope
A racetrack in my mouth!!!!!
Is it worth $150? Try 300 and change. Please recognize a good, nay, GREAT deal when you get it. Michters 10 rye is worth 150 at least cmon…
News on the street is the 10 year bourbon from this year is michters actual juice. Anything before this year was Brown Forman sourced.
Judging by this comment section, when did it become cool to complain about spending $100-200 bucks for a good bottle? Is 90% of the bourbon community on welfare? If I want/like a bottle, I'll pay the price for it and possibly buy at secondary if I really want it. I swear the bourbon community has become made up of the biggest complainers and cry babies I have ever seen! Keep sipping on your $40 bottles. More good stuff for me!
Guys, you need to get back to reviewing bottles that regular folks can get their hands on. Too many videos centered on unobtanium of late. Thanks.
Simply no whiskey is really worth anymore than $70 at most because they are just bottles of whiskey with slightly different flavor palettes but same foundation. I got caught up in the chase and hype and then figured out the Wild Turkey 101 just sets the curve for a delicious bourbon at 20 bucks. I get some are a little smoother with higher proof points but honestly none of that is really worth much more than 75 bucks to 100 tops. Even that is crazy when you think about what you can get for $75 to 100 bucks depending on your hobby or your investments or dinner etc. Not to mention The fact that it is poison at the end of the day and I definitely have let it take over and now that I'm aware of how it affected me I can see it in Kurt I can see it in that guy David on beyond the row, it's called an alcoholics state of mind where it just sort of blurs everything. It's best to take a couple months away from drinking to really get clear and then maybe revisit what you were doing with all that whiskey
