😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Sadly it is always fine when otels or bars etc put a billion sunbeds to the beach but when somebody plants some trees it becomes ''too much''!! To be fair according to Turkish laws nobody can own a private beach and entire coast line is under local governments' control unlike some countries. But it is both a good and bad thing as local governments can rent it which leaves some room for corruption. And because Seher doesn't pay any rent it looks like they decided such large area couldn't be occupied..
Same as US unless if you have a beach house

Bit of an emotional rollercoaster this video, ive been hooked on your journeys and binge watching over the last few days, your videos take a little navigating to follow on from one to another,. perhaps you could "episode each one" ? as for this "episode" what can i say, both sets of ageing parents, friends and relations, in uk and turkey, it must be an emotional wrench every time you leave ?,. not forgetting the animals !,. i,m from oswestry so its good to see a pair of "shropshire adopties" traveling the world,.safe journeys and i wish you happy days ahead,.

Lovely to see you back here and so sorry we were unable to join you for Dekafok and meet up. I am in hospital recovering from hip replacement yesterday, but will definitely send message to mayor of Manavgat. Crazy that they want to destroy something do positive for their town and Turkey. We love Lake Köyceğiz and often take the van to Süleymaniye hot springs, so will try the Çandır Teras! What is the name of the grill restaurant in Manavgat? ❤️❤️❤️

Unfortunately politicians are making very bad desicions in Turkey. They're all about money and how they can earn more.!!!!! Wish you could find some connections with the local non governmental organisations in the area. Decafoc has to be protected .

turkey is certainly very beautiful, with everything it is beautiful .. our people are very hospitable which many countries could take an example of, as a tourist you have a cheap luxury there .. when you ate gozleme I immediately ordered gozleme .. I live in the Netherlands as a Turkish 😂 when I see this like this I want to be there already 😭

about the elephant in the room; you are right about not talking about politics. cause a lot of people in power want a piece of the action when it comes to money unfortunately, regardless of who they side with. but it's a great thing you helped getting that amount of donations and stood up for the center after so long. i hope trudy is doing good on its' journey too as you are doing. cheers.

It was good to hear you say it's not political,but about the future and protection of endangered species. However, let us all recognize that politicians for 50 years have not listen to the scientists and biologist who have been calling for action. Interesting that this is a period of pre election . Your spot on about educating the children and adults.
With the authorities trying to dismantle the centre, all they are going to achieve is ruining the beach and the turtles habitat. Why?!

I've actually walked on that beach, amazing, Side is amazing I hope it worked. Its where we found out Dad had Parkinson's and his world turned upside down so it is a special place for us.

Hi Neil - Levent runs the Osmanli Hani Aparts Dalyan - I have pinned his business card in the community page here on UA-cam - If you follow Seher on Dekafok on instagram or facebook you will be able to follow her movements and contact her to check she is in the centre when you are visiting as she is monitoring all of the miles of beach and working so message first to check when she is in the centre - if not there will be a volunteer giving out bags to collect rubbish !! Yes it has planning permission and this was recorded some time ago - dont worry the centre is still up and running

Frankly I was expecting trouble when I noticed the center was expanded on both sides.
I think council autority is right. I notice as well when i watched last week's video. Seher is without realising passed the border. As we know no one is perfect. Seher doing great job fo nature.
