I had a brand new one , in 1993 on a "K" plate , used it off roading for 2 years , then sold my computer to add the "Fat Boy" body kit , with side steps , neon's, sound system etc. lowered, it was mad for a 23 year old ! Featured a number of times in "MAX Power" magazine , the best car and the most fun I ever had , great your doing this one , hope you post more about this. Take care 🙂
Nice example Becky, you're lucky it has hardly any rust on it, I've got the twin removable hard tops for one, with glass side windows if you're interested, very rare now.
Had no clue the bodykit was essentially a local speciality, fits the car nicely! And given it's in decent shape it seems previous owners did treat it well
There is a company in Yate called Buzzweld who have all you need to fix your rust yourself, or Craig may be able to do the underside for you. Give them a shout, he’s an off-road guy so will have seen the rusty underside of a few Vitaras!
Funny you said you're having a heart attack; I'm literally 24 hours into post-op from a quadruple bypass. Still, yours is the first vid I'm watching after getting the Surface plugged in ! Love to see it.
having owned several types of suzuki vitara jlx and driving them for over 17 years you can say i realy love that litle car and resently sold my suzuki vitara jlx to my nephew for his first car. and i wil probebly buy it back as a restauration project when he is ready to give it back to me. hopefully we will see some updates on how it goes with this litle monster of a car really love them
Am hoping to see more video on this gem , I have one myself (since 2006) , if you need advice you should checkout the suzuki-forums, Authors like Bex, Rhinopower and grimreefer have a lot of combined knowledge and we still haunt the forums 10 plus years later. Suzi Qs no longer exists as dealer/factory modded vehicle laws changed forcing places like them out of business. The LWB is a better off road vehicle than the SWB but that does not mean the SWB is not a very capable real 4x4 , my original Wideboy has traveled the worse backroads in africa and calling them roads is a kindness.
I'm amused to learn that Aldi where you are is apparently exactly the same as it is in Des Moines, Iowa, USA. They call that aisle of wonders "Aldi Finds" here.
I’m sure you will be pleased with it…I had a 1994 LWB JLX SE Automatic and it was a really good car until a local thumped head on into the front pushing everything back 12 inches BUT it did get rebuilt and lasted 12 more years on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides ! Just promise not to go following Doon Mackichan and spray it metallic turquoise and wear a pink Shell Suit!! 😀😀😀
I recently pulled a four door escudo from a field. The back of it had more holes than the red light district in Amsterdam, so I converted it to a pick up. While I was doing that I discovered it had the rare factory option lsd diff 😂
You seem to have a pretty Good one there. Most of the body kits were not great quality. I worked for a Suzuki dealer for a few years in the early nineties so saw a lot of these things at the time. Oh, please do me a favour and turn the spare wheel cover so the lock is at the bottom, it looks really nasty at the top. Sorry, it just offends my OCD!😍
Here's an idea... don't get quotes, do it yourself! That rust is treatable, that rubber U-strip looks like a standard product cut to length so buy a new roll & cut replacements, treat the rust yourself, touch the paint up yourself, change the coil pack yourself, give it a service & off you go! Loads of content, & you get a runabout out of it!
As with most cars the names for the same model are different in different countries, released as Vitara here in UK, Escudo in Japan and Sidekick in US. Vw Golf is another example, golf in UK rabbit in US. Vauxhall Astra, Opel Kadett the list goes on
I think the Vitara would make a Cracking Off Road project. Should make for loads of Good content plus Excellent fun!! Ps You'll need that Turbo, they are Slow as Fvck!!
I have a feeling that something with two wheels is imminently joining the channel 😉 I believe it is Becky's Christmas gift to herself for working so hard, again.
What I don’t get is YT’ers who will never buy a car from a manufacturer gets one to smoke about for ages. However I want to drop some of my hard earned on an Audi RS4 and all I get is 20 minutes on a set route in traffic with a spotty teenager sitting next to me. Audi has been lowered in my customer service expectations. Nearly £80k for what?
@@BeckyEvans I have saved for four years to buy this car through some tough times in my life, and the death of both parents, this was one thing would help me come out the other side. Audi should ‘yes’ help advertise their cars, but also give customers who are spending that much money on their products a little longer than 20 frigging minutes.
@@Metal05 Ask them for longer, tell them you want it for 24 hours, let them know you are serious. Go towards the end of the month when the sales staff are desperate to meet targets! They must get so many dreamers who spend their free time test driving cars just for something to do. I remember someone in the pub I used to drink in, they were 'house viewers'. No intention of moving, just bloody nosey. There must be car people the same. 👍🏼

U still have the hard top?
Apologies mate I never saw your reply, yes I still have it
That is very clean, bought one like it 15 years ago and it needed strut tops welding etc at the time.

How mint is that under the arches!!!!....... was expecting it to be rotten to bits......Shes a minter...
Roof removal was always a faff on vitaras, but great reliable little motors, that looked the nuts when given Fatboy makeover😎
Iconic! “Officer Barbie has arrived.” 😅
I had a new one in 1989 in white with a black bull bar on the front, it was hardtop version. Fantastic in the snow!
That beemer across the yard is a machine votary will be cool for the summer
Iv used this for off road use for over 12 years..driven them all over the UK and used them daily..swear by them..awesome little toys
