Never seen Noel so happy in an interview. Brilliant series
As the guy's saying 'If the money was right etc' you can see it in Noel's eyes that he's thinking 'Oh shit he's gonna ask about Oasis reforming...' and then it's about Tailgunner! Brilliant.
Gem Faulkner Laughed out loud at that.
Gem Faulkner Watch him do the same thing with Johnny Marr though
He did it with Ashcroft and Marr as well.
"That dick head who wears the big weasel helmet" is probably the best description of Deadmau5 I've ever heard.
it was actually daft punk
Remy Mia actually, he meant Deadmau5 but they shown a shot of daft punk, they have robotic helmets and theres two of them, he said 'That Dickhead' meaning one person
Claverleykid1 thankyou i didnt know who he meant , lol dead fookin maus twat
I thought he was talking about Jack white with his pompadour
What he said about Liam leaving the stage was actually heartbreaking to me. It was the view from a different angle, the view from this bloke playing music with his mates and wanting to deliver a good performance to such loyal fans as are the Oasis ones.
Same
I was glad he didnt took off during the concert i was in during 2009 tour
Liam sounds like a self righteous wanker
Great Interview! Finally one that doesn't ask the same boring questions over and over again, top answers as well!
Doran's haircut has taken about 20 years off him
Sid Hayward he went from rasputin to an accountant real fast
So true, doesn't look a day over 49 now
Top interview that, not your usual questions. Noel seems really relaxed, probably because he is being asked original questions.
Noel is one of a kind and his interviews are as good as his music. Geezer.
He's so cool and I can hear him for hours.
It is funny they mention Setting Sun and the unplugged gig because that's where I grew to like Noel and saw him for the talent he is.
That story about having to explain to a Japanese crowd that Liam had left the show was hilarious
Great interview, refreshing to see Noel getting some good questions!
That Setting Sun vocal is ACE
Both of the brothers are national treasures
Could listen to him all night - and he's a left-hander! Many thanks, great interview.
He doesn't play left handed dude
He's left handed but play right handed guitar.....dude.
There's a lot of left handers in this series.... I suppose it's true what they say?
the best music interviewer by a mile
As an American, I have LOVED Oasis since 1997 and own every album (CD and High Def).
This American loved Oasis more than anything...during that "era". One of the reasons why they might have been disliked by many over here in the USA was obviously because of the comments they would make about Americans (negative ones) . I couldn't care less about what the band members thought. This coming from a very hard right patriotic American conservative. That's how great their music is. It makes me overlook anything else about them.
As a Canadian I like Noel but Liam was an asshole who didn't have enough talent to get away with his shit and he kinda ruins the band for me
Jokers Wilde Same here, we were trying to “find” our band per say during the “grunge” era and we’re kind of struggling. However, when we heard “Supersonic” for the first time, then “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” we said,”That’s our band!!” We’ve been fans ever since. As a matter of fact, we bought all three Noel Gallagher records and Liam’s debut!🎧
Same here from Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. I've loved Oasis since the Champaign Supernova, and later researching their back catalogue back to Supersonic and I still love Noel as a solo artist. To the point of where I regularly stream London's Radio X just so I can hear Noel's solo material because big American corporate owned radio won't play his material here. If someone tried to tell me that they had me for eight hours to do a photo shoot, I'd say you got eight seconds. You either take your damn picture or my management office can send you a press kit instead. Noel, if you ever read this, Rolling Stone magazine and Columbia Records doesn't speak for all of us Americans. Ever since Dr. Hook wrote a song to Rolling Stone begging to be on the cover, which became a huge hit back in the 1970's, Rolling Stone thinks their hot 5hit. They're just another magazine in the vain of Billboard magazine and others. Don't believe the American powers that be, because you do have fans here.
they never made it as big cuz they cancelled the breakthrough tour halfway thru
@@chloestreeter3295 are you talking about the be here now one?
"The singer`s "Got off" "........"Where`s Liam?"- "He`s got off. Sore throat"......Brilliantly told.
Noel Gallagher needs a chat show. Like yesterday.
+Matthew Thomas Lombardo I think you're "chasing" yesterday! LOL!....I'll see myself out.
7:55 a brilliant joke and delivery that made noel laugh 👏🏼
😂 Ahaha
I love John Doran
I would love one with Morrisey
Great interview with interesting questions.
I hope that people will stop asking the same old tiring question about Oasis, and start asking; what gear he uses during his tour etc. Just something a bit tech for a change.
Great interview. Love the new album too
Top, top interview
Where is the rest of this season? I have been waiting desperately for another season and loved this one, but i demand more!
Brilliant. As usual from Noisey.
Ha Ha Noel is a class act, what you see is what you get, no bollocks! And Chasing Yesterday is by far the best work he's ever done so far I reckon. Good interview!
top interview
This interviewer is different class
An amazing interviewer.
i am form the usa and i love noel and oasis
Same*
"Would you ever play in The Fall". Lmao. Don't worry Noel you're safe now.
love more
I'm from America, I'm 40, Oasis was a big part of the soundtrack to my 20s. I actually cherished all the over the top antics and sibling rivalry. It was all perfect. I wish Noel didn't pull the plug on it.
This guy is a fucking good interviewer it has to be said.
Thank you for a well done interview. That's all you ever need to do with Noel is just enjoy the crack and let him go. Cheers.
Fierce Panda Records must've made a bit of dosh' with vinyl and CD versions of 'Wibbling Rivalry'...I remember a friend-of-a-friend came and stayed over at mine's in Berkeley we'd listen to it and quote it all the time.
I can tell you what I think of Noel Gallagher.I love his songs.I enjoy hearing his interviews . I like Oasis. I like the Oasis videos . All sincerity..
Im from America, St.Louis and I love Oasis and both the solo LPs. Come tour more here and fucking come to St. Louis!! Ill buy around.
That has to be one of Noel’s best ever interviews. The interviewer certainly helped though
Noel. we love you in america as well
What's the music in the background
setting Sun was a Tune!
Did he mean it when he said “I will never forgive him for that” 😔
What's the background music
That f*ckin' music in the background!
the japanese bit was hilarious hahaha
We're not staying here for fucking eight hours 😂
"you're not the rolling stones" lolol
Its odd to me to talk about Settiing Sun and not just admit it was Tomorrow Never Knows on E.
Listening to Serve The Servants by Nirvana recently I was struck by how much it reminded me of Oasis, or visa versa or whatever. Just the opening, the first few bars. Noel always maintained at the time Oasis wanted to kill grunge. I imagine Kurt Cobain wanted to do the same.
Heard Noel say a few times that he really liked Nirvana though
The interviewer looks like a character from Wallace and Gromit who is trying to dress as a normal person
I'M AMERICAN AND I LOVE YOU!!
Who’s the guy with the « wizzle » helmet? Daft Punk?
Now I'm a proud American. I've always loved oasis. Since day one. Our own country is full of cocky assholes in the music business, I don't think that has anything to do with anything. I just think that Oasis, more directly Noel Gallagher has a great sound. Most Americans however believe that they are the best, by extension our music is the best. Not so. They were hated on out of vanity in the nineties. As a fan I witness this first hand. It's a good thing the world's come around more.
America hated Oasis... besides that one song... americans love their bands that seem friendly, personable, that plays "the game", and are humble as fuck. Oasis were the anti-thesis to ALL that...
Yankees are shit and very hypicrities for love a great and true rock band from Manchester.
Medalion Its Its a fucking disgrace that land that gave rise to masterpieces like The Doors and The animals turned to support such a abominations as 80s LA hair metal bands. USA´s music landscape is a corporation festival. Thats why best bands have always come from the other side of the Atlantic ocean.
Thomas Coushatta check out the Hanoi Rocks ... hair metal was actually invented in Finland :p
Johannes G Halldorsson I know that band. Their looks inspired Guns n Roses style.
Thomas Coushatta Yeah, I just got into them and like them quite a bit. I also like Guns n' Roses but not many other hair metal bands ... not the 'too polished' ones who were basically boy bands.
whats this big fuzz with tidal?
The Japanese bit 😂😂😂😂
Legend,genius, the fucking man.
Setting sun is just a rewrite of tomorrow never knows. nothin weird about it
Dead right about Setting Son, although I like it a lot - Tomorrow Never Knows musically, almost a Jam album title-wise. He loves making references to his favourite records, old Noel - it's like he can't help himself. He's always entertaining, though.
Antony Bates I think, due to my age, i heard setting sun before tomorrow never knows and i liked it then. Still do. But you gotta call a spade a spade sometimes. Chem bros used the drum figure from tomorrow never knows a fair few times
*****
I'd love to have heard Tomorrow Never Knows and A Day In The Life when they came out, for the sheer rush of experiencing something so new, so shocking. I first heard A Day In The Life in 1978 at the age of 15 and I thought the stereo had broken down, so God knows what it sounded like in 1967.
But, you know, I was 4 when it came out - what can you do?
Antony Bates To the things that are totally out of your hands, you can do nothing. A day in the life is epic! Neil Young does a very good cover. You'd think it'd be impossible to cover
I agree RE Setting Sun. I don't see how it's weird, it's just a normal 4/4 song in the vein of TNK, and they've pasted in some electronic screech things (awful noise imo) and mixed the drums a bit louder than normal.
So gallaghers love to drink haha
Do Julian Cope
noel, please join the fall!
3:27 Coldplay would stay 4 the 8 hours...
& that's the difference..Rock & Roll V Music career
hahahaha magic mushrooms lol
This American doesn't hate Oasis or Noel Gallagher
Make that 2!
what the fucking hell happened with madonna nd kanye at the very beginning i dont get it
The irony of the interviewer slagging off someone from tidal.
Hello all an American here (sorry) I just gotta say that part about american's hating Oasis is bullshit, I think he's speaking to corporate america as the people loved oasis, i'm watching an interview about a guy That i look up to but also because I hope they mention anything about the band. The USA loved these dudes. More so we loved their working class don't fuck with me spirit.
Weasel helmet lmao
im in my 30s and have been listening to Oasis for decades, but 1 hour of hopping from one youtube video to another starting from Baron Cohen being stabbed in the eye made me discover that Liam is a pathological narcissist and that there has been a rivalry going on for decades. I had no idea, thanks internet, i will never perceive the songs in the same way. Liam is a complete psycho but Noel is cool!
Cohen never got stabbed, he ran into Liam backstage and Liam was apparently blind and threatened to stab him in the eye as he thought Sasha knocked him over. Wasn't that big a deal besides Sasha selling the story for his own movie really...
Whatever happened the music is the music.
It is stupid to try and judge a piece of art or music by the artists actions in private scenarios.
I also 'assume' that Sasha was being his normal smart ass persona and picked the wrong person to do it to.
A friend of mine met Liam Gallagher at some event or other and said words to the effect that he was expecting him to be a right **** but was surprised that he seemed alright. Gallagher countered with a twinkle in his eye; "Carry on like that and I will be!".
Sasha Cohen was telling a fucking story for attention/movie - since no one was there to record the interaction between the two - NO ONE SHOULD automatically believe the story about Liam.
But too many fans will believe anything horrible about Liam - many times on hearsay alone and no proof at all.
And he's a master of what exactly ?
Writing popular songs, obviously. Haven't you ever heard of him, or Oasis?
anybody knows why noel and liam call each other our kid? like is that just a nickname orrr??
Its Northern for brother
f***ing ADS!!
This production team doesn't seem to like colour. So dull and dreary
Jason Williamson is the same age as Liam but the Gallaghers are total dinosaurs. Boring.
Dinosaurs are cool tho
