back in the early eighties, it was actually a pretty shady area you are walking........ I worked at my uncle's funeral home and I used to sit up on the roof at night and people watch, you would see some crazy stuff, can only imagine what its like today.
Yuck! narrow sidewalks and on-street parking along a busy four lane highway and the building need to be set back further. Poorly developed zoning I noticed this in Houston as well. What is with Texas?
Well this street has existed since 1850. I don't think there were many zoning laws then. A lot of these buildings are from the early 1900's. There are buildings behind these buildings so they can not go further back.
