About the Leagues being worse after PoE 2: They said in a interview that it will actually be better. Alot of the PoE 1 team has been working on PoE 2 and now that its mostly complete (art, music wise) they will start working on PoE 1 again. They have separate teams for the games, so I doubt there will be too much of a drop of quality
Can feel that PoE is one of the last games that fight against its players, we love when we can craft and get gear that is good, that's what they say,, well you shouldn't get that. Played since the beta but unfortunately starting to get tired of them fighting so hard for people to have fun ;)
They may not be doing this. But maybe it could be an on rails navigation of treacherous waters. Where the boat travels along a set path, with monsters leaping on board and/or blocking traversal. Players able to choose between crossroad paths. The player able to choose how difficult and how rewarding veturing would be. Bosses being the monsters that halt movement. But that is a wild guess. It would keep the player within an arena sized area. It would allow players to see monsters jumping on board before those monsters even get to attack. Players could get swamped by monsters if they don't clear fast enough, monsters continuing to jump on board until just before the boss.
For me, I'm overall more excited for 2. However, the small drops of content for 2 is not high priority to me because I know it's still a ways out. When it closes in, I will be excited to watch all the info for it.
Speaking of a different genre of game... I've been speculating for over a year that Chris has pulled away because he is working on his dream card game to rival MTG.
Yeah I thought so too. He's also been the main face of GGG for a decade, the man deserves a rest and they have awesome people over there that can take over the player facing duties. Jonathan is not as charismatic but he makes up for it in spades with passion, and he IS a founder along with Chris.
I dont know if the community pays attention to this detail, but expedition was our legitimate league that's part of the atlas, after that we had system reworks like archnemesis or experimental leagues like crucible, sentinel, including necropolis. Its very interesting that the new league is based on exactly expedition. Maybe they want to expand that content and the lore. Also the boat is similar to the one in poe2's trailer, when you start the game. Maybe we will travel to some poe2 location in the league mechanic, like a bridge from poe1 to poe2.
You cant be nerfed if you already play meh builds. That's how you outsmart ggg 🤣 Cold dot never dies! (and maybe katabasis gets buffed again, it really needs it)
What would be Cool for me, you run maps and get boat parts/boat currency (fish) that you have to craft to make your boat(s) better. You send the boats out and get battle/ trade booty better your boats the more you get
For poe2 I’m trying not to flood myself with information I want to try going in blind and experience it for the first time but I will be checking out the information once I’m playing the game for guided and tips. As of now >~< it’s kinda like my love for monster hunter the game series I’ve followed since psp days. I love to jump in the game blind and follow guides after I hit a bump. I’m so hyped for poe2 cross play is going to be amazing
In response to the community swarming on POE 1 content but not POE 2 content... Personally, I'm taking the blind approach to POE 2. I've been enjoying POE 1 since beastiary league. I cannot count the number of times I've been through the campaign at this point. What I do remember is the first time I went through the campaign; listening to all the NPCs, the lore, reading all the journals, ect. It was amazing! You only get that experience once. As much as I love playing POE 1 still to this day, I play the game significantly differently now than I did then. I measure personal league success in how quickly I can get through the part of the game that got me hooked to begin with. I'm avoiding POE 2 content, because from what I have seen, GGG is doing this game correctly to make sure it is what we all hope and expect it to be on launch D4bad . I'm going in as blind as possible, because I want that fresh experience of a good quality game.
If anything, at best I just expect this boat league to be an experimentation for PoE2 endgame structure they still haven't disclosed. It could also just be some lore heavy content to link the PoE1 campaign to PoE2's. Dannig (from expedition) greeting Faustus (from heist) is kind of a historical event in the grand scheme of PoE leagues, if there really is an interaction between previous NPCs from different leagues, that's a first. (except for unconsequential stuff like dialogues, or memory maps) But it could also be some trolling like they did with the bosses from different mechanics in the trailer for Necropolis, it ended up being absolutely meaningless. Some random b-roll footage filler, and funnily enough that was also a first in PoE history as far as I can remember. From what we saw from PoE2 reveals so far, returning NPCs in PoE2's campaign include Rog (from expedition) and there is a whole act split between islands. It may simply be a random cheesy mechanic like necropolis was, with tons of hints leading to PoE2. Who knows, really. Although this just emphasizes a little more how they missed out on this untapped "design space" (their favorite excuse/justification), which is kinda ironic. Except for very specific content like delve and alva's temple, there is really never any cross-over between mechanics. Imagine a breachstone containing a bunch of legion's monolithes, a delirium heist or a blighted sanctum. I mean.. The memory maps I mentioned can be considered the first few very little baby steps in this "uncharted design territory". On a similar note but kinda off topic, I somewhat rencently realized how half-assed mechanics' introduction really are in the campaign. They really are an afterthought. Although understandable, just imagine how much better it would be if instead of having random encounters popping here and there, which are easily missed, when they don't completely derail players from the quest lines, they could be an integral part of the quest line. But as I said.. It's understandable they aren't, with the campaign acts already being done and somewhat set in stone. But I feel like it'll be the same in PoE2 and they don't have that excuse, there. Also, it could lead to an interesting concept of a modular campaign with way more acts, you'd need to do a certain amount of acts, which could be pulled from a pool of "self-contained" quest lines.. (this could still have an overarching quest line, too) It'd singlehandedly solve the burnout after re-doing the sames acts for thousands of times. They could introduce new ones every so often and even have specific rewards attached to them and all that jazz. I don't know, it does sound like a revolutionizing idea GGG would try. They probably thought of it and discarded it at some point but I feel like it would make so much more sense than a fixed campaign. (which they could still have within such a system, simply put the "standard" as the base option) Sometimes, it feels like we overestimate GGG so damn much, while they're good at presentation, realistically PoE2 is just PoE1 fullhd minus the useless clunkiness. Doesn't really seem like ground breaking news. I could write a series of books about how GGG not quite reaching the high expectations they've set, aka disappointments.
@corpusarmatae8541 ugh, very true. You're whole comment I was nodding sadly and then you sum it all up well in your last sentence. Maybe GGG is a victim of the hype they want to generate.
This is like when Wagner was burnt out of the Ring of the Nibelungs 4 operas back to premiere in a single week once per noon, 4 hour each, 6 with breaks and loading. You know what he did to relax? he did his Tristan and Isolde just something to divert the mind I just want a legacy league before the launch of poe 2, tempest and all! thia leaque is the subnautica league, we're gonna learn to dive and zoom and boss in 3D arenas/maps
I am more hyped for 3.25 then PoE 2, its sooo long until PoE2 release and there are so many interwiews out there, and they are all the same, 90% of all interviews with the PoE2 devs are the same questions, it just get boring after a while...
I definetely get the trading vibes from the teaser, it would be awesome to get some more trading QoL. Whatever it is please be good for gods sake. I honestly haven't enjoyed any league mechanic since Expedition... They've been either mid or skip for me for like 3 years now.
I'm not exicted about poe 2 at all to be honest. I have a bad feeling that poe 2 will be a slog fest and we wont feel as powerful as we are in poe 1. All the wacky stuff seems to be obliterated. Ever since 3.14 league i noticed the shift in their philosophy. The only thing that maybe i have have big hopes for poe 2 is the trading. If they implement some way of auction house/ asynchronous way of trading then ill be more exicted.
The console auction house so far is really good so far just need slight improvement. I wonder if it will still have the limit or not but they have a decent auction house template so far
dont think poe 2 will go the way of helldivers 2. I played helldivers 1 and quit after doing the same thing over and over, did the same with helldivers 2.
Everything I've seen (which is literally everything) about PoE2 is off putting to me and I have no interest in playing it. They are trying too hard to completely change the game into something I don't like. It's like they are doing the same thing Diablo 3 did to Diablo 2. Everyone loved 2, but when they made 3 they dumbed the game down and wanted to reach a larger audience and screwed the game up. This feels like that, to me.

Other creators out here making 3min vids when we are starving for content ! thank you for the 26min 😁👍
Why be short-haired, if I can't be long-winded? xD
sirgog has a long winded one too y'know.

I can’t wait to see a new Chase Unique that ends up being as close to the new mageblood of how badly people want it for end game
Forgot ranger exists?
I just hope that they will reduce inflation. I rly dont like paying 200+ divines for endgame builds xD
Tell them how to do it in a player controlled market. Play hc trade... ;)
Dude I swear nI thought they would release boat league before releasing the PoE 2 beta.

What if we end up building a city in poe2 :0
BOAT LEAGUE - CUSTOM BOATS - TEA TRADING - NEW EAST INDIA TEA TRADING COMPANY - BRITISH TEA TIME - DID ANYONE MENTION BOAT LEAGUE?

maybe u take a boat to a new island? one of the complaints about the previous league was that it wasn't separate to the main game
There is no polish language in poe... thus no league can be polished.
Melee nerfs inc :))) KEKW :PppPpPp
there is too much info about POE 2, I don't care anymore
That's a great way to put it.

Nope the developers will stay to each game poe2 isn’t going to Poe 1
