Mr. Steve Hello I would like to congratulate you for the efforts you have exerted to make your videos transcend time. Despite the fact that a large number of these videos had been recorded many years ago , their contents seem as if they were done very recently. This is an aspect of creativity. I enjoy watching them . Really they added authentic , and tangible knowledge to my education. Thanks a lot .
About Tate Modern - I was on the river cruise ship and as we approached Tate Modern, the cruise commentator said: "If you've seen modern art, you'll know why it's free..."
@@@daubreyjaneweirdsley, the negative connotation associated with Philistines likely derives from the fact that the Israelites under King David often feuded with the Philistines. simply because the Torah is written from the perspective of adversaries of the Philistines does not make them "uncultured." I fully understand that people refer to Philistines to mean someone primitive, but I still think it unwise to refer to entire populations as less than, simply because their version of history was not written down and widely distributed.
I was in London already. And I can assure that this town is all of this and much more. I will go back to England and, also, film many things to show to brazilian people. I am brazilian. Thanks a lot for showing all of this wonderful things.
I absolutely love London. The people are so polite and accommodating. I was very impressed. The city is so beautiful and my favorite by far. I cannot wait to go back.
Though I had visited London three times during my over seventy years of age, Rick's fascinating tours has really opened my eyes about the wonders of London. Thank you
Ian Robertson .... I too was born in London, St Mary's Paddington ..... I used to have family that also lived here but Aunts-Uncles etc have all passed on and brothers all moved out some years ago .. My eldest son and I are the only ones still living in London, have seen it change so much over the years etc etc .. I too will now probably end my days here though I have lived in other parts of the U.K. off and on I am back home now, have been for quite a number of years .....
I love London ! Finally London is free to visit ! But not for the italian ! 😢 I have two sons in England and , when I gone there , they take me to London and to different cool places ! I miss England ! For now i cannot go there because I have a broken leg ! I hope to go there next year ! Thanks for the video ! Hello from Italy ! 😃👍👏👏👏👏👏😊🤗❤💕
I visited London during the coronation of King Charles and I had such a superb time : Stonehenge, Liverpool and London . I’ll be back next year but this time to a full week in Liverpool. Liverpool deserves a week from this Texan girl ! Cheers ! Claudia . Austin Texas
Dave Video Productions it has been a dream of mine (Bucket + Make A Wish-type)...But I am extremely concerned as to what I may find, trying to walk thru neighborhoods that are NOW oddly considered as NO-GO-ZONES!!! These comment from friends, family already there can’t be exaggerated or an inflamed statement, when they themselves warn of how terrible it actually is now. Where could one go that wouldn’t have ANY issues that could leave a disabled person left totally defenseless or at risk of attack by those hating Americans?
I'll be visiting England and Ireland for the first time next month. We'll only have a little over a week, and there's so much I want to do and see that I'm a bit overwhelmed, but these videos are a great help in planning our holiday.
...charismatic Mr. Rick Steves’ magical videos allow adoring viewer to visit virtually beautiful places and such is tremendous experience of lifetime, thank you, love ❤️ you...
Spent 10 days in total over there. 5 days Christmas 2014 and 4 days Summer 2016. So many things to do, eat and see. And despite going there twice, I would still like to pay a visit again in the near future. Good memories.
Hi from a Brazilian Tour Guide living in the north of Germany!!! :) Steve, your views about London are incredible, very light and deep information about vibrant London, thank you very much. I would love to see your comments about a trip to Brazil, but take my advice, wait until we get rid of our horrible president, I hope this guy does not destroy the country before your visit!!! If it does not happen, I will be honored to be your guide!
London is awesome and Rick too👍👍 Food, history, music and everything wonderful to try if we're free from covid.... Just can't wait to visit England sooner. Leon
London is ugly and overrated. A lot of debate on this town on the web. Large consensus to say that London is overrated. For me, it's just a giant casino with no soul. That's it.
i love london i been there since i was 15 i am now 27 almost every year i hope to go next year again in 2021 sadly in 2019 beceus i work i was not able to go and this year 2020 beceus of covid-19
The V and A Museum and the British Museum are my favorite museums in London. You can spend days at both places. The transportation pass is the best and least expensive way to get around London.
I watched this over 10 years ago when he had his show on PBS.I was booked for a trip to London with Rick's team September 2009. Then I got laid of in July and couldn't go. I AM STILL DISTRAUGHT!! I have been reading and researching British history for over 25 years and it was/is my dream to tour England...maybe do an archaeological dig. Then I went through the fires in Northern California. I don't think I'll be able to go.
At first I misread your comment to be the following (and nodded to myself, yup that makes sense: "I was booked to go to England and then I got laid. The trip was off." ;)
Oh you must go, even if it is just for a week. I would recommend two weeks though. There is so much to see. I'm a Londoner, now living in Ireland. It is a fantastic City. I was born and brought up in Waterloo, Westminster Bridge was 1 minute away from our block of Flats. In the Summer you could hear Big Ben sometimes, with the windows open. The South Bank featured in this video was my local walk. It is an expensive City, but there is so much you can do for free ; Parks, Museums, Churches, Riverside walks, Art Galleries, Markets. An Air B n B would probably work out cheaper than a Hotel. Pub Food is good value. It's do able. x
This is Fred ikuvbogie. My comment stand, fore the beautifulness, I see in London, to the matter and fact , the cleaning and design, I see In London, I can say that I have see it. In other European country, I love London, maybe it will, be one of my first, classify city I love so much.
From my little short view, inspite of that cities are elaborately decorated with exquisite architecture and kept tidy and neat I consider big cities as a confinement where people are in custody, regardless of that I had never been to Europe and America. But the videos of Rick Steve are complete tourism.
And from the visitor’s side, it’s really a question of whether you want to say you rode the London Eye. The experience itself is just okay, it’s about $35 and you’re in a glass pod with 20 other people, taking 30 minutes for a single go-round. There are so many other great viewpoints. The Sky Garden is free, as are the Tate Modern and a hill near the Greenwich Observatory. If you don’t mind buying a round of drinks, you could go to Seabird at the Hoxton hotel or the Sky Lounge in the Shard. Two drinks will cost about the same as riding the Eye, but it’s a nice little perk.
Rick deserves an Emmy, Oscar and all other t.v. awards for such a great show time after time.
Mr. Steve

Interesting to see how much the skyline has changed in the past 20 years
love this channel a truly great travel channel
It doesn´t look as dark and cold as many people say. On the contrary, it looks bright and full of life.
Bear in mind this video was made about 10/11 years ago. London has changed phenomenally since then. I still love it, but the racists don't.
Nah I agree man

***** No, London was counted on a lot of books as an ungly town during the last centuries.

I wish to go to London 🇬🇧
The video is so excellent about The Smoke.
Hi Rick, I wish that King Charles would decree that the "eye" be torn down. It's a blight on the London skyline! Looks like a carnival ride.
And from the visitor’s side, it’s really a question of whether you want to say you rode the London Eye. The experience itself is just okay, it’s about $35 and you’re in a glass pod with 20 other people, taking 30 minutes for a single go-round.
