That 101 mph heater looked effortless too 🔥🔥🔥
Agreed
He threw like 5 101s my lord
If you want to see effortless 100 watch a Degrom start.
Jon Martelli or brusdar graterol
Christian Adolfo Lluberes crochet only threw an 85 mph fastball as a college freshman. The guy has come a long way.
Sitting 99-101 from the left side...My prayers are going out to all these lefty’s having to step in the box😂
Bummer who is in the same bullpen is 96 to 99 with a sinker from the left side
Mini clayton kershaw

@@THE-NC2 awful comparison please refrain from voicing your opinion in the future
101 on 4 straight pitches. Looks too easy for him.
101 in on the fits... in and a strike. I don't care who you are, if you don't turn somehow and get barrel on it.. your will be sore.
A dang baller!!!! I love his calm collected attitude!
He literally got drafted in June. This is wild!!!
He’s going to have a bright future
I am scared watching him can not imagine what the batters are thinking
I play in a men's league 85 looks pretty fast. 90 looks like a bullet
6’6 lefty with funky delivery is wayyy harder to hit than a 5’9 guy with similar stuff
Doesn't matter how hard you throw if you can't locate it. That's what it comes down to.
MLB channel likes your comment! Nice
I got a hit off a 93-4 mph Y. Gallardo fastball but I barely saw it, also almost pooped my pants when he threw a curveball.
This kid had his major league debut before his first legal beer. Wow
He took a trip to Europe when he was 19 and drank in 14 different countries legally.

Born in 1999!?!?! Man I feel old
Lol there are already pro soccer players out there that were born in 2005
I was born in 2000 and even I feel old 😭
JHardyExTReme dude it’s all ahead of you. Just be smart with your money and you’ll be fine.
When your a baby to being a kid, life is new and goes by super slow. After 25 , life starts going at full speed before you know it you’re old. Sad but true 😞
I was born in 1993. I’m so damn old.
Man, I’m having the time of my life in all the years of my Sox fandom. Sure I absolutely loved the 05 squad and all the others. But boy, these we have some young guys who can play. And throw straight gas 🔥🔥🔥
“Don’t blow your arm out kid”
I think he was injured in college that’s why he went later in the first round.
January Bears line drive to face
Pat Conneely yikes glad he’s good now.
It's so effortless I don't see him having big issues!!
@@jodydolphin79 that's cuz his mechanism is really smooth but that elbow still gonna endure some pressure for sure.
Goodness gracious! Dudes a power house pitcher. I love it. Hope this kid goes far with a long career!
This kid is something special glad he's on the south side
1 good thing coming out of this craziness of a season,we’re getting to see these young guys a lot sooner then we would normally get to see them
Bro this gives me hope. He’s from Mississippi and I’m from Mississippi. That shows that people from unpopular states could still make it to the MLB
Ocean Springs, Mississippi
#OSHS
ThAt OnE BoI On UA-cam Brandon Nimmo is from Wyoming lmao
I can see him being a top Closer in the game
That’s how Sale was
New Chapman
The long term play for Crochet is to be a starter once he gets his command in check
He a starter dude lmao
Hes a starter. They just busted his cherry in mop up time. He'll need time to stretch out.Im sure he will get a start in the playoffs
I’m from gulfport ms ... cool to see other baseball players making it to the league💯
This is better than my debut on MLB theSHOW
"Hey, the kids can play" miss that SOX slogan!
This team reminds me a lot of that ‘00 squad - with better pitching!
now its “dont let the kids play” tony la russa is lucky he had great teams or his bumass would be gone.
I remember when they brought Sale up, I thought "this guy could be insane."
Hope Crochet has the same success!
A couple of years of MLB seasoning and experience, this guy will be beast. The raw talent is there.
I'm not a Sox fan and you can say whatever you want against them, but they have a eye for pitchers, especially drafting.
But they use to have tendency to rush them up to the majors. In the bullpen Heuer and Foster have great arms. But they are only here because of injuries. They need to continue to stock up and have been doin a good job so far.
@@kevinthomas522 Sox scouting has been just filling the minors with pitchers. Last draft they picked pitchers every round (granted their were only 5 rounds) and they still have Jimmy Lambert, Matthew Thompson, Andrew Dalquist and Jared Kelley stewing in the minors not to mention Michael Kopech who would be in the rotation probably if he didn't opt out this season.
@@burningphoneix ...thats fine. Because as of right now i think Lopez and Cease at this moment are too inconsistent to be in the rotation. Did they rush them up too early? Possibly. Both are having problems with their control....especially Cease. Both have great fastballs but have a problem getting their secondary pitches over. Now do you want them to straighten those things out here in the majors is the question. Both have the potential to be mainstays in the rotation. But they are struggling. So its a great idea to stock up on pitchers.
@@burningphoneix Kelly is gonna be special also, your correct.
The umpire is just hoping please don't miss it Yasmani
He has a crazy release point. Effortless heat. Cannon for an arm
Most dominant debut I've ever seen. Period. This guy is a phenom
Amazing he was just warming up with the first batter then all of a sudden became the strike out king
Yup" I definitely see that blazing high heat. He's a fireballer 🔥 clocking at 100 plus
He’s going to be a good pitcher
Nah he’s gonna be one of the greatest, that’s how I see him
Facts
I believe so
gonna be goat
He went to Tennessee!!! Let’s go Garrett!!!
White Sox got a new toy! He should open a chain of gas stations and call them "Easy Gas"!
Wow this delivery looks so effortless. Smooth, strong. He doesn't look like he's trying at all to reach 100. Usually young guys are putting their whole body into it but this guy looks like he's playing within himself which will definitely help save him from injury in the long term
This guy and Josh Staumont on the Royals are two of the best young relievers in the game -- and both their heaters look totally effortless
This guy is going to be great! That being said, as famguy has pointed out, at 1:58 the 100mph appeared on the screen before the ball had left his hand, leading me to believe that the radar gun speeds are a bit of hype, and the person who’s job it is to hit the button that puts 100 or 101mph on the screen hit the button a little early and gave it away.
The 24 dislikes are Cubs fans with souls emptier than Kris Bryant's hit column
Ha! What a roast!
low blow man
I’m a Cubs fan and I like the Sox
I can hear Hawke Harrelson now: “he gone! Gaaasss.”
Great kid, great delivery, great heat. Def look forward to this kid to get his own baseball card soon.
Last sentence: “When flamingos attack!” LOL LOL!
To think that his first major league strikeout comes against his teammate the following year is amazing
I haven’t watched much baseball this year but that was actually enjoyable to watch.
He is a beast!!!! I'm a cubs fan and I gotta say this guy is amazing!!!! I think this is White Sox year. I have a feeling it's White Sox vs Dodgers world series. I wish I could say Cubbies but I can't. I can wish though!!!!!
An ecstatic White Sox fan here. Adding GC next year to our rotation og Giolito, Keuchal, Dunning, Cease, Kopech and more.
Watched him at UT for several seasons. Great ball player
“When flamingos attack” priceless that’s all I’m gonna call him. Flamingo Crochet
Hes asking if Crochett can read the signs. He asked for a fastball and got a slider. You can tell he was waiting for the fastball thats why he crossed him up. So no hes definately not telling him he cant see it 🤦♂️ With some work this kid is going to be a great closer. That is some serious heat coming out out of his hand. Hopefully he does better than he did in college. Hes come a long way since 👍 His command is there and he looks like his mechanics are flawless. He looks comfortable up there on the mound. Much blessings to him. Hes got a great future ahead of him. It looks like the ball gets there much faster than what i really us. Hes going to be hitters nightmare!!! Mark my words!! 🤣🙌
Wow! This kid is going to be something! Go Sox!
We all wish you the best brotha, stay healthy and you can accomplish anything
When flamingos attack might be one of the best calls I've ever heard
1:58 he’s so fast the radar gun already called it before he released it
Lmao
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gee... they wouldn’t use fake numbers to hype up the kid, would they?
Boat Axe that’s honestly what I was thinking lol
Boat Axe they did not
Very reminiscent of Aroldis Chapman when he made his debut for the Reds. Ramped up and tough to square up
It's a really weird feeling when a guy in professional sports is either the same age as you or younger than you kind of makes you feel old
Ha! Get used to that feeling buddy, a lot more in years to come...
Or half your age
We're watching greatness in the making
He's got Great potential he would be great on the Yankees.
That is some serious talent. Congrats White Sox fans, you are going to enjoy seeing this star rise.
From a Red Sox fan. happy for the White Sox.
It helps to be 6'6" lol
Amazing effortless fastball.
Dudes card is a menace on MLB the show along with Edward Cabrera
That man was locked in. Congrats to him
Checkin in and a year later my guy has not disappointed
This is why I love baseball. Power pitching.
I dont understand how he can short arm the ball 101 from the left side. This is a literal gift from God there probably wont be another like this for 20 years. Not natural at all what a gift
5:02 the slowest looking 101 mph fastball you’ll ever see
it's because he makes it look so eazy. i bet it doesn't look slow when you're in the box
It’s like watching Gaterol pitching. Throwing 100 but it’s looks like a he’s not even trying.
"lefty-lefty, good luck to YOU.." 😂😭
Gonna be an ace, This year he gets the opening day start and then the year after he will be one of the best starters in the league. He doesn't have that 101 anymore but can get close to 100 and stays 97-99
The Sox are gonna have great pitching too go along with their great hitters. They should absolutely win a WS withen the next few years
Would love to have him in Houston! Think he’s going to shape up nicely and be fun to watch. Super exciting player.
3:56 that beautiful sound of popping leather 🔥 this guy is gonna go places
My elbow is going numb just watching him short-arm those pitches
Great way to start your career. Will be seeing more of him I’m sure.
I grew up with Garrett he’s gonna be special
The fact this kid is trowing 101 fastballs one after the other is amazing🤯
This kid reminds me a lot of Billy Wagner (Who he should be on the HOF)
I see it
He's about a foot taller than Wagner lol.
@@benriffle104 but the motions are pretty similar
SanFranFan30 your right very similar motion
Nice comparison...even his delivery is similar
As a Sox fan and being the youngest team in the league, the upcoming years are gonna be fun to watch!!! This guy is kinda like a mixture of Chris Sale and Chapman....
This white Sox farm system scares me even more than the Yankees 😳
Yankees farm isn’t all that great
Lucas Borja No bro it’s almost infinite just calling up people who step up. Clarke Schmidt, Deivi Garcia, Kyle Higashioka, and Mike Tauchman. That’s just recent years bro
Terrence Loughran Jasson dominguez is coming up too he’s gonna be good
sobXmystic For the Yankees or Sox?
Terrence Loughran yankees
He's very controlled, I've never seen a rookie with 101 fastball and so controlled, he looked like a veteran pitcher, if he stays healthy I see a future hall of fame.
really enjoy this
Theta because this isn’t 101. It’s more likely 98 but the MLB lies about velo numbers to make their current players look “better than ever”.
This kid is going to be unreal.
Looks good! I'm gonna bet he's due for Tommy Johns by the spring of 2022.
Hes got it! 🔥🔥
It sure feels good to be a Sox fan... Go White Sox..
Jesus, you can't blink on that fastball.
hopefully he can stay healthy and not blow his arm out. kinda does bring back memories of c sale.Go SoX!
Last lefty early riser turned out pretty well for the white Sox
Looks like the next pitcher the Red Sox going to trade for🤣😭
It's a new era. White Sox are finally getting smart lmao
Paul Redwine the sale trade was A win win situation, look at Moncada now, and the Red Sox got their ring
and as much as I loved Sale as a White Sock he needed to go. no use in keeping him around when we knew we were gonna stink.
wow. this dude is amazing
His Uncle and I are buddies. I am now a sox fan cause of this kid
saw some control issues but he will be a stud.
If he can work on the control. He will be great
He's just gotta keep himself healthy and never stop working. Make sure he's icing and getting all the therapies he needs to keep that arm in top shape.
Jesus, effortless delivery and hitts tripple digits.. If the commands that slider well, hed get anyone out.
Hopefully he can get his command consistent and work out any kinks in his windup... Should be dominant for years to come then
"Garret Crochet, when flamingos attack"😂😂😂
Yea, Sox got a good one. That kid is going to be special
Garrett Crochet: *throws 101 mph in his first game*
Aroldis Chapman: 👀
Thats what I thought too, since he comes more over the top than Sale or Johnson.
@@Elijahrock21 yeah pretty much
Very impressive... The chi sox just got a lot more dangerous.. Built like Chris Sale but stuff like Billy Wagner!!!!
That's the reincarnation of Bobby jenks remember Sox fans the saves. Yesssss!!!
1:45 the catcher can see it. Grandal is asking if he can see the signs!
When flamingos attack lol got me tearing up lol😂😂😂😂
Flamingos....what's the meaning in baseball?
I would want a full batting cage like they wear in cricket with this guy pitching. With his delivery it is not very easy picking up the ball and rotation.
From the same town as his went to high school with him crazy
Injury speculation is speculative because it's speculative. There's no way to say if someone is gonna need TJS based on mechanics, nor any other issue of the elbow or shoulder joint. It either happens or it doesn't. There are a number of proper movements and components of a delivery that every pitcher has, and must have, and his health either holds up or it doesn't. It's a matter of how resilient the soft tissue is, and that is genetic.
There's also nothing necessarily more strenuous about a 98 average velocity versus 89, since either one suggests the same sustainable in-game effort for a given pitcher. Guys from 2000 who threw around 90 had to have surgery all the time. Mark Prior was said to have perfect mechanics, and he did, but he still had his HOF trajectory fall of the rails with injuries. After the fact, then everyone somehow knew what he was doing wrong. Lincecum's mechanics were legendary and they said his arm is just 'along for the ride,' but he didn't last long and ended up having problems with his lower body because he threw with it.
Hes movin devious in the field
Nothing like Sale, obviously, who's thin as a rail, and comes at you from a much more extreme angle. Sale's motion is much more eccentric -- but this was scary.
But please, will SOMEONE get this guy a pair of pants that fit him instead of making him wear his little brother's pants.
Lmao
He actually rolled them up.
@@coachcarter8238
Then the White Sox need to hire a tailor, Coach. Those are terrible.
Maybe it's an incentive to throw strikes. You don't want to be out in front of people in those pants any longer than necessary.
Thank god, you don’t want to have those funky injury prone mechanics. You want an arm to last ha
@@rickrose5377 could be worse... could go back to those tight 80s style pants with those stirrups and try to pull off the Rick Vaughn look.
