If u can work out what you get on your lowest possible month and make a budget for that. Then work out a priority list of what u will allocate any extra money to. I have an irregular income so over time managed to save up a full lowest month income. I then put this into my account on the first. I let the income for that month gather up as didn't need it and use it for the next month. This is called getting a month ahead on income. It means I now always know what I will have at the start of each month.
Is anyone else seeing their recommendations grow up with them? I just turned 20 and it feels like UA-cam is trying to remind me everyday I’m hurdling towards the real world.
It’s good to know this info before u start making money though, you’ll be a smarter spender for it. Wish this sh*t was around before i started working.

Eusebius Bob Ok, ok, I need to address this matter: when I read your comment I was highly confused but when I reread it a few times, I was like, “OHHHHH! That’s a creative play on words!” “Penwomanship” instead of “penmanship” 🤯
Charlene Johnson check out the budget mom on YT and IG. She has an amazing budget system. She does cash envelopes for things like groceries, gas, etc and sinking funds are for long term goals like Christmas, quarterly payments, etc.
The only thing I don't understand is the clothing category as a sinking fund. I know it's not a necessary "bill", but does this layout mean you would go shopping once a year if you are just adding til the end? Or is it the way she explained the date night fund, where you can use what you have, and then if you want something grand wait for the amount to roll over. If so, what if you don't have the amount yet but certain items are switched out weekly and you can't wait for the next paycheck.
You are not suppose to rely on minimum wage🤦 you have to work your way up to a higher paying position. When I was 17 I started to work for 6.25 an hour, now I work as a manager making $23 an hour. I'm not tapped out yet so hopefully my hard work keeps paying off.
I love how you broke it down, explaining everything step by step. I've been trying to do a biweekly budget for some time now but just played everything by ear, just paying whatever, whenever it was due. I also like how you organized them by due date. This makes everything so much easier & organized. Since it's still the beginning of the year, I can start with my next paycheck. See, you're never too old to learn from these young folks, lol, (I'm 53) God bless.
Stevannah321 I’m so glad you found this helpful!! And you’re right, never too old to learn! You got this, and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask (: thank you for watching! ❤️
I have a bill calendar. I write when my bills are due and mark when paychecks come in and the amount. It helps to forecast when bills are due and how much I need. Also for expenses like dog licensing and required shots.
I know that if I try not to spend on something, when I finally do I overdue it. So I give myself 20$ a check for clothing. That’s 1 or 2 items a check. That’s it. My wardrobe builds without my killing my bank account. Sometimes I’ll save that weeks to compound with the next check.
I've been trying to do a bi-weekly budget for the longest and nothing really made sense, but this... this makes total sense! The 'Sinking Fund' was the light bulb moment!
This was such a great video. Im 16 and very nervous (but also very excited) to get my first summertime job and i wanted to be as educated about money as i possibly can be while also knowing how to handle it properly without overspending unnecessarily. This video really helped me understand how to budget effectivley given that im very ignorant to the whole concept of money right now but this video definitely helped a lot and you've certainley just earned a new sub💙
good on you for being money conscious. Its a very important skill that will be needed for the rest of your life, no matter how much money you end up making in the future. you may regret blowing checks on unneeded clothes and fast food, but no one regrets having a flourishing savings account :) good luck on your first job and I hope you may receive many more in the future

If you’re working that many hrs and you’re only making about $400 a pay biweekly then you may have to find a better job with better pay and more hrs. I appreciate your clear and simple explanations!! You also have a calming demeanor that helps make me think your process is possible for even me!! Thank you!!
This is the first time I've seen someone use "sinking funds" before. I LOVE that idea and will be using it from now on. Thanks for sharing with everyone. :)
the first year i moved out i was doing good but now the 2nd year in ive been splurging on eating out and buying things for myself WAY too much. i’m 21 and trying to save for a down payment on a house. with this budget i should have about $30k in two years. THANK U
I've spent a total of 208 this month. No shopping of any kind No car of any sort No insurance No date night No celebration No entertainment One meal / day Not fun.... but lyfe goes on. 🤐
@@cindyga50 girllll same thing im saying. i know what it is to be hungry. if i can afford food - even if its noodles or pancake damn mix, im finna be eating that 3 times a day.
Try farmers markets and aldi’s. Couponing also helps as well as some restaurants have free meals or sandwiches if you get their app. Idk what your income is but you might qualify for assistance
@@nicolenunya984 I don'r live in North America. I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world in terms of cost of living. Asistance from our government is not even enough to pay for rent... smh~ There are some videos on YT showing the living conditions and the lives of the under-privilaged.
Learn all u can about life lovely girl, and how to be a strong women. I wish I had a phone and the internet to reach me all the things my parents didn't. Keep learning the importance of life.
Omgeeeee girl I watch one of your cash stuffing videos and I'm hooked... I think you were ment to do tables cause your hand writing and lines are so perfect. Please dnt stop making videos
You really explained everything--great work can not wait to try this. I've been trying to budget for years and this is the first time I understand the concept of it, Thankyou.
this helped me a ton! i came across another channel that does this and i purchased the binder and envelopes method. now finding your video i just sat down and did everything you did step by step. i've had a shit method of saving which was really nothing lol and sitting down and writing all my expenses and everything made me feel so good to know what i can have after budgeting. thank you.
Please keep making videos no matter what anybody says. You have change my life and you are a lifesaver. Before watching this video I had no idea what to do and even though I’m 21 which is still pretty young I wanna know how to take care of my money. Thank you so much this video helped a lot
After my depression spiral spending I forgot how to budget again. I couldn’t remember what set up helped me but I finally found you. Never has a set up actually been simple enough for me to follow and like.
From the looks of it I need a second job 😭 however I have an Infant. I wish someone would of told me daycare was $900 a month. You should make a budget video for families with children.
Andrea Sorondo I pay €1450 🙈 but in the Netherlands single and working parents get money from the government if their income is low. I get €1330 from the government as a single mom who goes to school for 40 hours a week (5 full days) My girls are 3 and 1 years old. They go 2 days to daycare and my family does the rest (I’m 21)
Its literally the same thing. If you know daycare is $900/month then you basically divide $900 by how many times you get paid a month. You save the money in a cash envelope or if you feel more secure putting it in an account, you can. By the end of the month or the beginning of next month you should have the money already saved and ready to pay the daycare.
you can check your area for services that provide free/ low cost daycare. here in Sacramento, Ca we have beanstalk and child action if there is a program similar in your area don't be afraid to apply you migjt not qualify but at least you tried my aunt is a daycare provider and most of her parents don't pay anything directly
Word of advise especially for the young folk. Get yourself a second job. If you have an extra 3-4 hours in a day that is spent idle, get another job. If you’re in debt, use that second job to pay off the debt using a snowball effect. Even if you’re not in debt, use that money to put into a high yield savings account. When I was 19 I got my first apartment and I worked in a hair salon in the day. In the evening time, I worked at Target. The money I made from Target went into a savings account. I never touched that money. Create the habits now of budgeting and living BELOW your means.
You know what … out of all the videos I’ve watched and I’ve watched a lot of videos… I like this one the most! With the other ones I just can’t follow the person that’s explaining but I love how you break it down☺️ Thank you for making it easy to understand
I would reccomended making your Christmas sinking fund goal December 1st. If it is not fully funded until mid December then that only gives you about a week to do Christmas shopping. If it is due December 1st you will have that full amount for 3 weeks. (If you make your goal November 15th you will have your goal money by Black Friday and can save even more money😉)
I love how you broke it down with the weekly paychecks left until you have to pay your annual expenses!!! Very good explanations! Love your budgeting method. And good for beginners. This is a video every beginner should look at.Thank you!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
This was so helpful. I’m 17 almost 18 and have a baby coming in January. My boyfriend I have been stressing about money, but I’m definitely going to show him this video! Thank you
Dude you have the most perfect handwriting love your nails by the way thanks for the video I'm in debt but I'm a shopaholic like i need to shop online daily so my debt isn't moving AT ALL thank you this will definitely help me out
I wanted to thank you for taking the time to create this video. I have recently been getting into budgeting and financial health the last few months. I've been talking to my gf about it but she gets super anxious when talking about financial health with me not in person. I'm going to share this video with her to help her understand that it's not so scary. Thanks again!
Your video is by far the BEST budget video I have watched when it comes to explaining sinking funds! Thank you so much!! I'm going to watch it again after work and play with my own numbers to start cash envelopes! 😁👍👍
Makes total sense, I figured out a similar system on my own but I never thought to put aside for the large annual charges, genius ! I will begin that this year, Thanks for sharing!!!!
Ashley G can I recommend another budgeting video. Check out hisandhersmoney on UA-cam they may be of some help also depending on your need. I listen to them.
In my next cash envelope stuffing video, it will be mine and my boyfriends expenses/sinking funds combined! It'll be my first video like that, let me know what you think (: and I hope it helps!
This helped a lot, thanks! I’ll tweak it to match up my fast food delivery job, since I get paid with tips and a pay check. Definitely helped. I’m joining the family!!
Yours is the first video which I came across, who have explained budgeting in so much details. Thank you so much for motivating us beginners to save money with proper budgeting ❤️
thank u so much for this video! no idea why it was on my thread but so glad it was! Im 36 and didnt know how to budget PROPERLY!!! But i do now! And im going to make sure my 18 year old son sees this video as well because he just started his first job making LOTS of money and i want him to learn how to manage it efficiently. Excellent video!👍
Thank you so much for this video! I was already doing my own budget every 2 weeks, but this is way more precise and useful than simply writing down what you're spending in the month. Amazing video I am definitely subscribing :)
Great video!! I also love getting paid n actually paying bills now!! That I’m budgeting we are saving so much and seeing progress in paying down cc debt! Tfs💕
I absolutely love this beginners to budgeting method! Thank-you so much for sharing! This is one of many life-skills that are necessary for a young person to have confidence and successful self-reliance habits as they enter adulthood and are on their own. Will def avoid lots of stress, heartache, etc. Kudos to you Miss. 🙏🏼
Thank you very much for making this video. I've been searching for videos on the tube for the past 2 days on cash envelopes and detailed break downs dollar for dollar. And, by far yours is the best for me with such clarity and clear understanding. A point of where to begin. That sinking fund though was like "Daaang Girl". I love it! Will definitely use this method. Btw, great penmanship.
I'm in my early teens, know exactly what I want to with my life. I've decided when I get a job to set aside the money I'd spend in the lifestyle I want and then the total saved goes into my future house. This video was helpful, thank you

This is the first time I've seen someone use "sinking funds" before. I LOVE that idea and will be using it from now on. Thanks for sharing with everyone. :)
This is the most helpful video I’ve seen about sinking funds and cash envelopes!
We had a course on budgeting in economics last semester and I’m grateful for learning most of this

I've spent a total of 208 this month.
No shopping of any kind
No car of any sort
No insurance
No date night
No celebration
No entertainment
One meal / day
Not fun.... but lyfe goes on. 🤐
food4444lyfe one meal a day?? Girrrrl
@@cindyga50 girllll same thing im saying. i know what it is to be hungry. if i can afford food - even if its noodles or pancake damn mix, im finna be eating that 3 times a day.
Don’t you mean no life instead of no fun?
Try farmers markets and aldi’s. Couponing also helps as well as some restaurants have free meals or sandwiches if you get their app. Idk what your income is but you might qualify for assistance
@@nicolenunya984 I don'r live in North America. I live in one of the most expensive cities in the world in terms of cost of living.
Asistance from our government is not even enough to pay for rent... smh~
There are some videos on YT showing the living conditions and the lives of the under-privilaged.
she writes in comic sans and I love it
I like the breakdown, we dont have credit cards or car payments anymore, so those categories will be the 'savings' category
Wow, very cool. Congrats on that!! I can't wait until my boyfriend and I get to that point!
Love that I’m 13 and this is already on my recommendation page tehehehe...stress tingz
Anna Eanes haha I wish I knew about this when I was your age 😭
I'm so grateful now that my dad taught me to budget when I was young. So many people aren't taught and it leads to so much misery.
Learn all u can about life lovely girl, and how to be a strong women. I wish I had a phone and the internet to reach me all the things my parents didn't. Keep learning the importance of life.

Rita Burnett lol! Thank you so much girl! I appreciate that, and thank you for watching!! ❤️
I love how you broke everything down. I have been trying to encourage my family members to do it this way but I guess I'm not explaining it like this
Thank you so much for being so transparent! I have watched so many videos and it was so confusing!
Seeing HOW you got to your yearlies was so helpful. See how many paychecks you have left and divide! Duh! 🤦😂
Nicole Chew awww I’m so glad you found it helpful 😊 thank you for watching!! ❤️
The fact that people have actual time to do this warms my heart because I could never

lilac2484 thank you so much!! ❤️
You're the first person I've seen break down your checks like this. I like this idea.
Do a budgeting for high school students !! :)
this helped me a ton! i came across another channel that does this and i purchased the binder and envelopes method. now finding your video i just sat down and did everything you did step by step. i've had a shit method of saving which was really nothing lol and sitting down and writing all my expenses and everything made me feel so good to know what i can have after budgeting. thank you.
Finally a video that teach people how to budget who dont stay with parents!!!
Honestly ive watched alot of cash envelope videos but never understood. This is the only video I understood. Thank you♥️
Just wanted to say that this is by far the best budgeting video I’ve seen yet xx
Please keep making videos no matter what anybody says. You have change my life and you are a lifesaver. Before watching this video I had no idea what to do and even though I’m 21 which is still pretty young I wanna know how to take care of my money. Thank you so much this video helped a lot
Young people, start listening to Dave Ramsey now please.
Jennifer Kindle amen
Jennifer Kindle I’ll just about to say that
I need to try his method
Thanks! 🙏
Facts!! 💯
After my depression spiral spending I forgot how to budget again. I couldn’t remember what set up helped me but I finally found you. Never has a set up actually been simple enough for me to follow and like.
Ever thought about using a spreadsheet on your computer? It would make it faster and easier to create the budget.
Some people prefer to write it, me being one of them. I'll retain it better plus hate looking at the computer screen.
From the looks of it I need a second job 😭 however I have an Infant. I wish someone would of told me daycare was $900 a month. You should make a budget video for families with children.
Andrea Sorondo I pay €1450 🙈 but in the Netherlands single and working parents get money from the government if their income is low.
I get €1330 from the government as a single mom who goes to school for 40 hours a week (5 full days)
My girls are 3 and 1 years old. They go 2 days to daycare and my family does the rest (I’m 21)
You can claim that on your taxes. Make sure to ask for the slip from the daycare, they’ll print it out for you.
Its literally the same thing. If you know daycare is $900/month then you basically divide $900 by how many times you get paid a month. You save the money in a cash envelope or if you feel more secure putting it in an account, you can. By the end of the month or the beginning of next month you should have the money already saved and ready to pay the daycare.
you can check your area for services that provide free/ low cost daycare.
here in Sacramento, Ca we have beanstalk and child action
if there is a program similar in your area don't be afraid to apply you migjt not qualify but at least you tried
my aunt is a daycare provider and most of her parents don't pay anything directly
I strongly feel like daycare is not worth it lol, because it makes parents get second jobs only to have all of the money going to daycare
From the looks of it I need to get a second job smh 😂😔
That was me a few months ago, and now I have that second job, but the sacrifices we make now will benefit us in the future, we got this!
Me too girl
Same but idk if I’m not looking enough or something but I can’t find anyone to work around my first job😭🤦🏽♂️
Aw, so glad it’s been helpful! Thank you for your kind words 🤍✨
My budgeting was some what like this when I was doing it. I need to get back to it in 2020.
Budgeting has been a life changer. Thanks for your thoughts on this! It’s great to see others on their journey to financial freedom.
