It's really great to see there ain't no "Racists" here, great song, see even good old boys can rise above all of the crap and still keep country music alive and nobody is tearing down historic statues!
I maintain that real music comes out of human beings working together. If you go back to the old 1920s recordings, there wasn't the separation or division of later years, it was all just music. Personally I find this more "blues" than Jimmy Reed's original.

Great Jimmie Reed song. Danny Dawson is new to me. Lee Roy's slide is fine. Waylon, Travis, everyone does a good job on this one. I myself sing this a couple of time to my elder residence singalong audiences. Fun.
Does anyone know if Danny Dawson ever put out an album? I see plenty of stuff online about his performances but there doesn't seem to be much in the area of stuff he's recorded in the studio.
@@onrywaymore104 of course we will really been busy with his mom. But she is doing better now so we can get back to some things we missed doing. Take care missed you and will stay in touch.
The first time I've seen Danny Dawson or Lee Roy Parnell and I am a 100% fan of both as I already was with Waylon & Travis!!

I didn't know Travis could play like that!
Like he sang in his song, he wanted to put some drive in his country. he can pick it too.
He also plays the banjo. He is awesome
I just remembered where i first heard this tune - it was Big Mama Thornton on some college radio blues special.

i know waylon can rip im not sure why he didnt get a solo but this was phenomenal
I know he got carpal tunnel surgery at one point which hurt his ability to play. This might be after that surgery.
I think he totally quit playing lead guitar after he had the surgery. It’s a shame too, but I guess decades of picking can mess you up.
Awww play it son!
and play it they did!
I was hoping Lee Roy would break out that slide.
