Just made this recipe. I never ate the entire skin before until today. It was the most delicious, crispy potato skin I have ever made. I used duck oil spray and it worked just fine. Simply delicious! Thank yo Pam!
This looks so delicious! Watched many videos on how to cook a baked potato with crispy skin and this one was the best! I am most definitely going to be buying some duck fat and trying this recipe! Thank you so much for this video!!
I haven't baked a potto in so long! This looks so amazing Pam! I know the skin is the best part for you but when I cook potatoes I tend to remove the skin. That skin looks wonderful and this is the perfect recipe to enjoy the skin! I love how you've topped it, I really should make a baked potato soon! Simple but so satisfying! Awesome video and recipe!
Your video was delightful to watch and listen to. So enjoyable compared to many other recipe channels. You are doing a fabulous job. I love baked potatoes and I enjoy trying new recipes in general. Looking forward to many more recipes from you. Blessings lovely lady.
Looks absolutely delicious 😋...my grandmother would always used bacon fat from the rind and salt! Definitely will try your suggestions...thanks for sharing ❣️
Great way to make delicious baked potatoes Pam! All I had on hand was avocado oil but I think it turned out great:) I just ate one of your baked potatoes and it was delicious! But...I made a couple and just wondering if you have any tips to keep a couple extra of these lovely baked potatoes as a leftover so we can get it close to the same crispy goodness for the next day? I'd certainly try anything you may have came up with and give it a go:) Thanks again:)
I love watching your videos. I'm making these taters now. Your voice is really soothing, I was watching your recipes until I passes out last night. Lol
Yes, I make mine the same way but I use bacon grease instead of duck fat. I buy huge russets and my husband and I split one for supper. The secret is microwaving it for five minutes before baking.
That potato looks perfectly delicious!!! My first time hearing of duck fat. Ive also never microwaved prior to putting in oven, never placed directly on rack…. Okay! Steps I must try because that potato is perfect!
Lol. The only reason to microwave is cooking time. You can skip the microwave but you’ll be in the oven twice as long. Pans of any size create steam of some sort so placing it directly on the rack helps with crispiness. Duck fat is something used mostly in restaurants and with chefs. You can also use beef tallow (rendered beef fat) both are expensive to me. I paid $13 for that jar of Duck fat BUT it is well worth it. It last forever and it’s something to use on occasion and great to have on hand. I cannot even find beef tallow anywhere in my area NC So I have to order it which I plan to do. Once you use either you will always want to have it on hand. It’s kind of like cooking your own steak or eating one from a Michelin Star restaurant lol. Thanks so much! If you ever have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask 🥰♥️

Love it!!! Thank you so much for this. Would this work on a sweet potato as well?? We love sweet potatoes but having it crispy would make it even better.. Thank you again.
Oh yum!! I love baked potatoes! I guess who doesn’t? But Duck fat? Does it have to be Duck fat? I’ve never seen it in my local Kroger’s, but then I never looked hard. I’ve Ben in the area of fats, so I’ll look hard for it next time I go, which is today. Can you offer other recipes for using it? I’d hate to buy it and not know how to use it up. Of course, I can look it up, but your recipes are the best, so I’d love suggestions!! Thank you Pam!! ♥️♥️
Hey there. It is not in my local stores either. I got it from earth fare. Try Whole Foods it you have it or from Amazon. It is amazing when sautéing or roasting veggies instead of olive oil. It is pricy mine was $13 for the jar BUT it will last a long long time refrigerated. It is great to have on had. I have another recipe that I will try it with and if it works I’ll be posting that one too. Sautéed shrimp in excellent with it. An alternative would be beef tallow. Another pricey hard to had but well worth it oil. Thank you so much 🥰♥️
Duck fat, never heard of it. I do know ducks are a very fatty meat. What else would you use it for? I hate buying SPECIAL ingredient's that I will never use again. Would like to try something new. Thank so much. Glad I found you
I don’t know how I missed it, but you pulled the baked potato out of the oven and didn’t tell us how long you left it in for. I’m sure you mentioned it somewhere, but I’m not going to rewatch the video to find out.
Hi! Olive oil won’t crispy up like that plus it is not a high heat oil and therefore it may cause it to burn. You can also use beef tallow. Rendered beef fat. If you eat pork you should be able to use bacon fat. I have not tried this with bacon fat but because it’s rendered like duck and beef it would be what I would do. If you eat bacon fry some and then while the grease that came out is still hot use a fine mesh strainer and strain it into another pot then let it cook slightly but still pourable and strain it again into a good heavy glass jar and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use. It will last a long time in the refrigerator. I hope this helps and thank you so much for your support!

What if you want to make say, 4 potatoes? How long do you microwave them?
Ok so what if you want to make this today? And don’t have duck fat? What can you substitute?
What can we use in replace of duck fat
Hey there! Beef tallow is your next best option
I Looove yo voice 😜💕

40-45 minutes
She says to bake it in an oven at 425 degrees for about 45 - 50 minutes. And that info can be found at 4:03.
What's the point yo microwave it? Might as well cook it in there.
What if you don’t have a microwave?
No normal household has duck fat.
And you don't need it anyway. Just use some good salted butter. Other than that, I can't disagree with her.
I’m first mamaRayRay
Lol. Thanks so much
❤ A BAKED POTATO ! WOW , DUCK FAT !
Yeeess. Duck Fat lol. Thanks Torre
What other type of fat can I use if I can't get this duck fat?
I skip the micro ad it kill all enzymes every good nutrient. Ftom there I use ypur technique. Thank you for being you
Electricity is too expensive, to cook 1 spud where i am...
No duck fat
Thank you for watching
one more "O my goodness" and I'd lose my appetite
Now I want them taters!
Lol. Taters coming up
you lost me at duck fat
Too patronising for me..
A 10 min video for quite literally 30 seconds worth of info. No oven temp or time either….👎🏻👎🏻
Russet are the starchest potatoes
You want the startchest ones for baking this also for French fries.

Ghee. Rub it with ghee. Ghee doesn’t burn.
