Had Battlefront 3 been released, the kid who fell into the Harembe-enclosure would have been too busy with the eventual mods coming out for this game that he never would have gone to the Zoo that fateful day. Had Harambe lived, our history would have played out differently, for sure.
Man, this game could've been a juggernaut. Considering that it would've come out during the golden age of multiplayer, it probably would've given Halo and COD some serious competition. Heck, that ground to space combat is exactly what so many people were pissed that Halo Reach didn't do. It would've been the perfect middle ground between the player bases of Halo and COD.
@@ItsAdventurerJay Absolutely. And this would've been even better. This game would've had seamless ground to space combat, which even the Supremacy mode on Battlefront II doesn't do. Just imagine full multiplayer lobbies playing on these maps
This vid recommendation is insane. This is literally fate. Firstly, I’ve never seen your channel nor have I watched any SW content for the last year. Secondly, the first Battlefront by Pandemic was my very first video game. The day I first touched it is carved into my brain forever. Thirdly, I also remember the day our local gaming-themed TV show has showcased some early BF3 gameplay - this was the only thing I could think about that day in school… And fourthly, I just re-downloaded BF 1 and 2 after a 4 year break! Great video. Thank you.
1. Build is from 2009. 2. Missed deadlines, poor performance of Free Radical's other game Haze, and cost of development in the midst of the Recession caused it to get cancelled. But it was partially salvaged as Elite Squadron on PSP and DS.
I am so glad that I got this recommended. I wonder if messing with the settings in Dolphin would improve some of the bugs. I know it is an unfinished version, but the frame jumps and gitters very much remind me of Dolphin's wonkiness.
I mean, controlling the turrets outside the ship is also possible in Battlefront 2 (2005). Also, the starfighter laser sounds more like somebody rapidly smacking a wooden hammer on a squeky toy lol.
While I enjoyed DICE's versions, I felt like we were robbed. It would be a mircale if Lucasfilm Games decided to resurrect this game with what was already built and just polish it.
@@ItsAdventurerJay THIS IS A BLANK PLACEHOLDER SOUND (but no memeing: this is so exciting child me loved elite squadron and has always wanted the original version of it since I learned about BF3, and im so hyped to see how much modders can fix it)
I'm just realizing, the prologue to this game opens with the same characters from the Elite Squadron game... Does that mean Elite Squadron technically was our "Battlefront III"?
Thats exactly what happened. They had multiple versions of the game being made for different platforms at the time and BF3 for consoles ended up getting cancelled just before release so Lucas arts renamed the other versions to Elite Squadron
LucasArts kept adding new milestones while being less cooperative and communicating less. The studio was forced to work on 2-3 games at once, this one was supposed to release on multiple versions. The stress reached unprecedented levels, by the end most developers knew that LucasArts pretty much didn't care anymore and they were working for no reason at all. And then they finally made it official, this was the final result.

New lore just dropped. Had bf3 been released the whole timeline would be different because the harambe kid would have never been there.
Unfinished build of a canceled game has more content than either of DICE’s games at launch LMAOOOO
9/10 year old me would have loved this back in the day on PS3.

I definitely agree. Instead we were forced to wait until EA gave us their games. Which I still enjoy but They aren’t the same imo

Now we just need a playable Project 1313

For a game from 2006 this looks good also the gameplay is a bit better than the sequels i dont see why they cancel it

I liked it you not putting music into the quiet segments u were talking about. It just felt so much more funny

Yeah that’s honestly a lot of the issues probably. tried to fix a few things but couldn’t get it to run as well as I would’ve liked

Yeah, Dice did a good job and they're not bad games. I really enjoy the EA games but they just aren't the same as the originals imo
the story seems to be the same as battlefront elite squadron
cos the campaign just copied assets from this game and put it into the psp under the name elite squadron
THIS IS A BLANK PLACEHOLDER SOUND
Kinda catchy honestly

@ItsAdventurerJay I passed an inspection check. Nice.
All the battlefront 3 builds are is console ports of the psp battlefront elite squadron lmao
because elite squadron is literally asset flip from BFIII
Why? Why was this cancelled? I am sure someone can finish it.
I think there are people working on it and trying to atleast make it run better so that’s good

This would have been utter shite. Pandemic is what made battlefront special
