Note: I was able to fit all of the cards in the slots with cheap sleeves on them with the exception of the full common deck. I was very happy about this!
So far, I have read the rules and it seems like if you know the Imperium games well, you will be well suited to playing this one. Lots of familiar mechanisms.
Thanks for this John! I take the lack of TOS crew of Kirk, Spock, etc as a sign of respect. They will obviously come out at some point, but they want to make sure they absolutely get them right. It is sort of like how with Lord of the Rings LCG they got very familiar with the system with lots of player feedback before they did the Lord of the Rings main story (saga) expansions.
I also need to add that Captain Kirk is not in the game, which was a very bad decision. I agree with people who rated the game down because of that, and his exclusion is worthy of knocking this down a point or two. The only thing we can hope for is an expansion with him in it. Star Trek Captain’s Chair is totally incomplete without him, and Star Trek itself would never have existed without him too. Make sure to state this in your upcoming review.
I will address this for sure. It seems like a big whole to not have any of the original Star Trek content present at all. It is not just Captain Kirk. It is his whole crew and all characters at that time. Unless the game completely flops (which I doubt it will) I am certain they will make a full expansion or a full game like they did with the other Imperium games that features that area of Star Trek.
Hey bud, with all due respect, I would think that in an unboxing of a card game, this video would have primarily featured actually going through the decks of cards? And maybe more than just a half second of flashing the ship cards? I'm not sure what the point is otherwise? Just a thought. Thanks.
@@dougcerulli8826 unboxing card game videos don’t show every single card, so you should not expect that. If you want samples of card images, go to the Images section of the BGG page for the game.

Looking forward to this one.
The artwork of Star Trek Frontiers board game is cool as well.

I would guess that is it.

@ I agree. That was a poor omission on their part which can only be corrected with an expansion.
I really wish they would give me tracking info for this already! All preorders should have shipped by now.
It must be on the way. I got my copy from my FLGS who preordered it too.
@ yep, I got the number yesterday, thank God. And I just got in Xmen Marvel Dice Throne. Wow what a game!
Getting mine today. Love your vids. Please do the cadet training mode video. I will be playing this solo. Thanks!
I will hope to do this. Perhaps next week late. Thanks for watching!
My copy is coming Monday! Are you planning a playthrough? I'd love to see one :)
I would like to. I won’t do it until I am fully comfortable with the solo mode, but we will see how easy this one is to learn or not.
I wasn’t too happy with the card quality of the Imperium games. This one is from a different publisher. Would you the card quality is better here?
Yes. The cards are a little more sturdy in my opinion. Overall though, the whole game feels like it is higher quality than what Osprey Games did.
Thanks John!

I hear you. I will keep that in mind for the next time I do one for a card game.

sleeves doesn't fit.
I figured…
There are a couple suggestions on bgg to get them to fit.
