You should definitely look at the Veyron Super Sport as well. The engine bay is covered up, and the top air intakes are replaced with naca ducts. This was the one that did 267 mph.
Could you maybe do the original RUF CTR? I think it would be interesting as there is quite a bit of online debate whether it was running the rated ~460hp or even upwards of 600 when it reached its top speed of 339kph. Thanks!
Have you looked into modeling the res bull rb17? Their given downforce numbers and 16:1 efficiency indicate that it would have a CLa of -6.12 and a CdA of .3825
@@kaing5074 But it is a valid thing to ask for. I think it would be interesting to see what happens at high speeds, because the drag is so high of the gound, relative to the length of the motorcycle, then what about attaching aero parts to the motorcycle, that blend the body of a person in better, and what about downforce, especially while cornering, when the bike is tilted,...
I can't remember where. But I do think some one mentioned that the Bugatti engineers had to manage the 'Limited' air around the Veyron between Aerodynamics of Stability and Downforce, as well as having enough air to supply the engine and cooling systems. Which might explain some of the aero decisions made
If you havent already i'd love to see some breakdowns of the Saab's aerodynamics, for example the 2000's 9-3's. Given Saab also made fighterjets the Saab cars were talked about as being very aerodynamic
Awesome videos! I am a new subscriber. I would love to see a video about the 8th generation Honda Civic Sedan (FD or FA) because its windshield design is very different from all Civics before it and Honda kind of dropped it after the 9th generation. I would also like to understand how the type R wing is working on that model. I'm sure you get a lot of suggestions like this, so no pressure😜 Keep up the good work! Thank you.
not skoda octavia, faster is every company car, because company fuel so PEDAL TO THE FLOOR (except if the Skoda is also company vechicle than you have a fair point)
The only thing why Veyron has an exposed engine, it because it's heat management. 8.0L Quad Turbo W16 has 10 radiators on it and it still can't cool effectively, so Bugatti decided to expose the engine so the air can help cooling it down
Much of that ability to reach 253 mph is actually because of an austrian man who wants to create a porsche 917 styled as a living room and which is legal for road use. Jason cammisa did a spotlight on the veryon (ss) on the ISSIMI channel
@@PremierAerodynamics yes i meant low drag, i know that downforce comes with drag increase but still, the car looks so streamlined that i was expecting far less drag
As a German, I unfortunately don't understand a word because you mumble so much and even the automatic subtitles only understand half of it😂 But what I understand is very interesting.
The title should be 253 mph not 248 mph the veyron on 2005 did 0-60 in 2.46 sec it was awd with 1001 hp tho some had more on a dyno it did the 1/4 mile in 10 sec flat but in japan it managed to pull off 9.9 sec. It’s top speed for the book of records was exactly 253 mph
Dude, did you see that Brazilian volleyball player made like 10 million in a week or something?? Insane. I didn't realize there were so many perverts out there.💪
one thing i like to say about the veyron is that not only its aerodynamically great, but the design itself has aged gorgeously
3:56 they actually covered it on the super sport
They didn’t the hole is just a different shape
@TinyBearTim they did, watch the recent top gear episode about the record breaking bugattis.
@@clemente111 they didn’t the engine bay still isn’t completely glass
@@TinyBearTimno not with glass, but enough to remove the turbulent air at high speed

And it got in the Guinness World Records as the fastest street legal production car.

Would love to see the nurburgring record holder 919 evo hybrid
At 3:56 The Intercoolers are placed there hence why its freely open, its the same with its SS replacement and Chiron.
Air to water intercoolers. They do not need to be freely open
Air proves that this design is a classic.
Gets better with time!
It is a really well designed car.
It's opened for 2 reasons , cooling and make people see the w16 without any barrier in between. It's made to look good

I would love to see the Oldsmobile aerotech
Still waiting for more motorcycle aero simulations ;)
The motorbike is very aero. The lump on top of it is not. Full stop. STOPASKING

I don't think we've done one yet.
The draggy region on top of the engine has been reworked in the 1200hp veyron.
Bugatti bolide next?
Nice one as usual, very interesting. Props
Thanks! We have other Bugattis in the future coming.
Thank you for taking the Bugatti suggestion!

Definitely. They had trouble with the cooling, which is why they needed so many radiators. 14 in total, I think.
love your channel mate, how about you do a comparison between the holy trinity? (P1, 918, LaFerrari)
Thanks for the idea! We'll put them on the list, but it might take a while to simulate them all and make the video.
Love this. Can you do regular cars also? Would be interesting to see air for soccer mom cars

Thanks for the idea! We do have the Civic on the list, but yep you are right in that it is a long list at the moment.
Can you do one of the Chiron ?
What would the aerodynamics of an old boxy hatchback like the Toyota Starlet or the Suzuki Alto works look like. 🤔
hhhey can you do one of the fastest cars on polish roads which is skoda octavia sedan at 100mph
not skoda octavia, faster is every company car, because company fuel so PEDAL TO THE FLOOR
(except if the Skoda is also company vechicle than you have a fair point)
Was the flow considered as incompressible, also in 400 km/h simulation? How results compare with compressible flow solver?
It was incompressible here. It's just on the rule of thumb limit.
@PremierAerodynamics yeah. When passing that, compressibility starts to be over 5 %.
The " 300" model, the engine bay is covered with naca ducts ...

What is more aerodynamic the Veyron 16.4 or the Porsche Mission X concept?
I believe ive read before the cd of 16.4 is 0.37 which is similar to a landcruiser 200 series.
Will you do the GT3 RS ?
Yep, we are just finishing the video today. It will be out on Saturday.
The only explanation about why Bugatti didn't put engine cover is to cool the engine. Which still doesn't make much sense to me
Mabye they flowed radiator exhaust thru the engine hole?
Can you do the 87 camaro iroc z?
It's quite a blocky car but with a claimed drag coefficient of .34
We have it on the list.
@PremierAerodynamics excellent!

Chiron ss next?
Hi. Please do the MX5 NC
It would be interesting to compare all the facelifts to see if mazda improved the lift generated

Why did u put the the downforce/drag force of the veyron at 400 kph on the 72 kph chart, that doesn't make sense?
So you can compare the difference.
speedtail, i want to know its true drag figure
Can you do the new McLaren w1? I want to see that rear wing in action
...how do you think anyone would be able to model something that JUST came out? Is your head full of VW parts that don't work?
@ I mean after cars have started being delivered.
wait a goddamn minute you mean to say that a mini cooper is more aerodynamic than most supercars??? despite it's minibrick appearance????
Depends on your definition of aerodynamic. In terms of low drag, yes. In terms of good downforce, no.
