J.I.D. reminds me a lot of Isaiah Rashad. Young rappers on the rise, uber-talented but haven't broken through to the mainstream yet. Both guys can flow seamlessly over any beat and switch flows multiple times in a track to keep things fresh. Isaiah's "The Sun's Tirade" is an excellent album to check out if you haven't heard it.
If they do it’s going to get them on the map mainstream I think. With their versatility, especially their abilities to change flows on the same track would be so dope. Kinda Like run the jewels do.
Some EARTHGANG songs I fw: Red Light Momma Told Me (ft JID) Missed Calls Their performance of "UP" on colors Meditate (ft JID) The Curve (from Spillage Village which is an ATL rap group containing JID and EG)
@JonDenton in the song D/vision the last verse is sung by Johnny Venus. All three are lyrically on par, they write together alot of the time and bounce ideas. The EarthGang guys tend to have stronger southern slang undertones so some of the bars fly over peoples heads. I recommend reacting to a few EarthGang songs.
If you like lyricism then you'll really enjoy Joey Bada$$'s albums and mixtapes. 1999 is a masterpiece and an underground classic that he made when he was only 17 years old, B4.DA.$$ is another fantastic album and I believe it's his first major studio release, and All Amerikkkan Bada$$ is one of my favorite conscious rap albums of the decade.
