protip to deal with the excess water in the aluminum system, use valves! just limit the water input to 60, although it does have the downside of having a longer start uptime, its the most space efficient solution found by Xyrill Plays (im referring to his how to use fluids in satisfactory u8 at 100% efficiency video if you're curious)
You actually don't need to limit flow. If you make a pipe junction with your recycled water coming in from the bottom and the external water coming in from the top, then use uncapped valves to prevent backflow, the system just prioritizes using the water from the lower pipe first. If you limit intake with a valve, you should fill up a buffer first before turning the system on, or you'll just asymptotically approach full utilization but never get there, resulting in machines repeatedly turning off and on.
@@celestialspark5697 because machines shut off and then wait a little bit before starting again when they get enough resources, it will actually get to 100% if you have the exact amount of input and no buffer (eventually) ... but I don't trust valves anyway, I don't ever use them for anything more than enforcing flow direction lol I haven't tried the "prioritizes bottom input first" method, but I've heard it from a lot of people. @@kenanjones3481it’s more that the pipe is already full, so no more water comes in from above. The vertical top up is the only way to make it reliable. Using a valve doesn’t work if you don’t produce at maximum speed all the time.
Rather than dragging limestone to your aluminum plant and running extra machines to make wet concrete, you can just use the priority pipe junction. A vertical junction with your feedback water going in the bottom and extractor water going in the top. Pipes drain from the bottom so it will ALWAYS pull feedback water (even if the pipes are full to capacity). You can pump 600 water into the top of the junction if you want, no jams.
Another way to do the aluminum water cycle is to not mix fresh and reused water: 3 alumina solution refineries to 1.5 aluminum scrap refineries fully feeds the water requirement of 1 of the solution ones, letting you use separate pipes of fresh water for the other 2. No chance of stalling, it only needs a little of startup, but you need to run the fresh water pipes anyway. 6 to 3 for feeding back 2 also works if you don't want to underclock.

Also, the hover pack should use the batteries (which are freaking awesome for vehicles), even at 1 per second I'd be happy rather than the mad scramble to switch to regular jetpack and hope you manage to get back over the lip of the chasm you're building over.
I’m trying something weird with my aluminium factory water setup. 600 bauxite into three refineries with the sloppy alumina recipe then the alumina solution into another 3 refineries. I “slooped” two of those refineries to double the output and it actually creates exactly the amount of water the first three refineries need! Closed system! It’s been running like that for a few days on my dedicated server with no issues yet. Of course you also get extra aluminium scrap for free that way too!
Okay, this is pretty clever. I suppose it'll be less useful for big factories since somersloops are pretty limited, but for smaller setups, it's pretty neat.
I really like Instant Scrap for aluminum processing, mainly to remove the Alumina Solution step and not to have to deal with water cycling. Its also just more efficient in general. Excited to see how you tackle it though.
@@harunoderso That's easy to solve, put a vertical pipe junction before the water input of the refinery, pipe that into the refinery on the middle, have the return water piped to the bottom of the junction, and water from extractors go into the top of the junction.
