Going to miss your satisfactory playthroughs, hopefully you get a new one started soon after you finish up with this one. Maybe you can build a open concept factory setup next time.
Same. everything I did in my first Playthrough I made things thinking I wouldn't need as much stuff as I did to complete the space elavater. It got to the point where I'm like ok I don't care what stuff looks like. Just make me 1 million wire
This is absurd. At the end of this I do hope there's an episode of just walking around the place. No slide-jumping or flying, just a walk through this chaos.
The commitment to following the terrain with your foundation cap is starting to pay off. All these challenging areas of elevation changes are forcing a detailed look at each space; I think that it will really give the final factory set an interesting visual look overall, imparting awe and unease to the viewer through both the natural scale and a chaotic layout of this industrialized, colonized space.
I really like the new approach of the all consuming ground production instead of another endlessly growing tower. It really shows off the massive scale.
I just recently got back into Satisfactory after being on hiatus since right before update 5. The addition of blueprints and "zooping" has been a massive game changer when it comes to large scale production, as evident by how fast you can lay down a design for producing 10,000 steel. It's also extremely nice to be able to clip into hotboxes without necessarily clipping meshes, which was something that ultimately made me take a break as I couldn't figure out how else to compact my designs.
i really like the camera work in your videos. there's a scene where you're zoomed in as far as possible making it look isometric. very cool! always love it!
Also to avoid having the wrong resources sent you your constructors you could always use smart splitters and set the first one in each block to only accept the right type. If something happens then the whole block stops working but all you have to do is empty the main input line instead of every belt
Would love to see another episode of you interacting with the fauna like the previous one. 😅 You dying every few seconds was hilarious. And, it was just as nerve wracking for us as it was for you. 😂
ImKibitz is the bob the builder when it comes to this game I have never seen anyone so into 1 game but I'm very proud of the hrs of play time and the magnificent builds he does I tip my hat to you man never stop doing what u do u need a server for this game haha
Oh man this biome project is coming along so well! It looks so great! Good call going back to update 7 to avoid the bug world of update 8 experimental, especially for as much as you're building over there.
ImKibitz; I've watched enough of your videos to know. This didn't make you lose your mind. Because you lost your mind quite a long time ago. And you can't lose something now that you already lost before. 😄 !!!! A great blend of humor and learning. 👍
I have got to say that the designers at coffee stain have done a great job at making stuff very esthetic regardless of how it is used. For example, when you put a lift on that foundry, it was like they designed it so it would look like a part of it.
I can’t even remember what space elevator part I’m working on but I only wanted 20/ min and this has turned into a 8 story upside down pyramid that I’ve been working a few hours a week on since probably April and all that’s left is getting the raw resources. I build backwards from my final product to resources so I can optimize as I go
Basically did a similar build for 7000 steel perm minute. But with the refined power mod that adds a recipe with coal dust. That was just a mind numbing build
I must point out the one most important thing that is missing from this build..... the lizard doggo farm. Or, even better, a large monument in the center of the chaos. Make the monument an embodiment of chaos.
regarding clipping conveyor lifts. i find snapping the spliiers/mergers directly on the lift looks alright.... ok to be fair i never actually look, i just want to build stuff as fast as possible.
It’s funny, I would have gone SUPER cursed, and gone single line input with smart splitters since the individual input is so small. It will need more balancers off the main material bus lines, but woo compact if you want it to be.
The foundries, you could have stacked the imput's and outputs along the front just stack a 3rd splitter then belted them to the back using lifts, easily cram it all into a 1 ina half foundation space instead of trying to run it along the side as you just wasted space with the belt going around the first lift. Plus doing it this way makes it easy to flip and set up more across and connect to the same splitters/mergers, they would just be aligned a bit in a zig zag instead of directly across.
KIBITZ..Cool design but i revised it a bit by merging the spitters and mergers into the lifts. I have yet to test it. but it'll be some time though Plus i think it might be a tiny bit more compact. I have to thank you for the ideas I keep forgetting to think out side the box when I'm building and using the BP machine.
I made a blueprint that fits 8 foundries per layer, in a 32x32x9 block. 9 are technically possible, but the shape of the foundry and the position of the output make it nigh impossible without outright clipping through the buildings themselves. My 8-layered one is tight as a button, but with no clipping (or at least, nothing notable.) I also have a 24x assembler that fits within the blueprint designer (2x780 input, 2x 780 output) I really like the puzzle element of cramming as many factories within a 32x32x32 box :D Manufacturers are too big though... I think I can get 4 within a blueprint, but it doesn't look as good as just making a modular setup for a single one.
Kibitz I'm sure you know this already, this comment is more for the education of people who maybe haven't played this game so much. At this phase in your game, if you're being blocked by terrain you could just build your "first floor" on stilts (pillars) instead of starting at ground level. Then you can run all your inbound pipes, belts, trains, and trucks in UNDER your factory, with input lines running up through the floor. Then you can start your smelters up in the air, at a level that's above the terrain so you can build a "flat" working surface with no obstructions. I was just watching another streamer's game where he set his factory up like that on purpose because he wasn't happy with the hills and rocks getting in the way, so he built I think 3 large foundations up, wrapped some walkway stairs around each pillar, and then built his truck stations and mining drills underneath everything. Built up three floors - smelters on 1, constructors on 2, outbound belts and such on 3, then the space elevator on the roof, with a special train coming in to deliver project parts into orbit.
Hey, i got some questions for you because its freaking me out how long satisfactory takes to save and its just taking longer and longer, the more you have built. How long does is take for your game to save? How long is your autosave interval? And does your game crash sometimes?

Look up totaleclipse’s foundry design. He puts all the splitters and mergers up front and then uses the conveyor lifts in the back to get the inputs to go around the smoke stack.
Video stopped playing and gave me the buffering ring at 1:29 (because I'm downloading a game in the background), and it couldn't have been better timing.
Hey Kibs! Were you aware that splitters/mergers can be mounted to the head of a vertical belt directly? Allows for a fairly compact belt system while also bringing the belts up off the ground.
short Question: how do i add multiple custom swatches (colors), normaly its just one and i always have to get my saved colors from the list and its actually quite time consuming. And since kibitz got like 5 or 6 i wanted to ask here, bc reddit couldnt help :)

so what youre saying is, pain is eternal?

I cannot wait till he decorates the whole area with buildings and signs, making it look like a Factorio meets cyberpunk type of factory.
Seeing this you push on and on with these super big megaprojects gives me motivation to make a silly 60 steel plate per minute factory. Thank you.
Right I never understood the big factories it's called build small and let the game run for a month lol
I’m starting to get a feel of Borg Cube from your desert build.

Honestly the concrete slab was such a good idea looks sick with all the machines built on it
