I feel ya with that extreme cold, Jack! I live in the U.S. now but I grew up on the south shore of Montreal in a little town called St. Lambert right on the St. Lawrence river. Wind and storms would come howling off the Atlantic, down the St. Lawrence - which is shaped like a funnel - and bounce off one of the locks which regulate water levels between the Atlantic and the Great Lakes. That ice cold air would blow into our town. When I was a child, Canada incorporated the Celcius system, so they would announce the temperature both in Farenheit and Celcius. 40° below zero was where the the two scales met and we would reach that occasionally. 20° below zero was common in the winter. You knew it was cold when you stepped outside and your nostrils immediately froze up. People had engine block heaters that they plugged in overnight or their engine blocks would freeze solid. So glad you and Ellie survived. Blessings to you and your whole beautiful family. Love your videos. As a former actor I can appreciate how many setups they take - especially when you're alone - and how much editing is involved.
My mom moved us across the river to St-Lambert when I was a kid. We were there for 5 yrs then back to Montreal. I don't remember much, but I remember the wind.
I saw a guy build much less dangerous heater out of some candles and an ammo box for his snow mobile micro camper. The air that fed the candles was isolated from the inside air. He still had his monoxide sensor, but probably didnt need it. He was out there in -20f, -30f and it warmed his cabin up to 53f.
And anxiety is the WORST! Those nasty fight or flight hormones feel toxic when misused. I discovered your channel dealing with it, I find it calming and it centers me, shifts my focus to what’s important and distracts me. Perfect.
Agreed. I had an awful anxiety breakdown a few years ago that changed my life. I’m grateful to be in a better place right now, but I know how debilitating it is. So glad to hear that the videos have helped you 🙏🏽
@@TinyCabinLife I am glad you are in a better place, your therapy certainly helps others. Fellow Minnesotan here-- I enjoyed that cold day from the comfort of my heated home! 😀 You certainly put in the effort to give it a go, too bad you had a few strikes against you. Thanks for sharing your adventures... I'm definitely doing more hibernating this winter myself.
Great video, nice to see Ellie again. Don't know if you are aware but your right front headlight is burned out! When things go wrong I always remember what my PAP told me. I can hardly believe you braved the sub zero temps . Once when I was in college we went on a door knocking church campaign in Janesville, WI. All of us in the campaign were from west TN, AL, MS and AR. We didn’t have the clothes for windchills of -30, most people of thought we were the most rag tag group they had ever seen with our duct tape and trash bag shoes, with every piece of clothes we brought on knocking on their doors. We had a good revival though. Kudos to you for being brave. Funny side note- none of us had seen so much snow so we were dying to go snow tubing. We trespassed into a cow field and were almost arrested be/c we were making so much noise close to a neighbor hood. My tubing adventure was short lived when I went down a hill and ran into a barbed wire fence. Good old college days! Hope you got a new mat.
A man and his new toy! Jack doesn't care about how cold it is. When it comes to the beauty of nature, he's going for it! He had me laughing when he was just cruising like it was nothing!!! Wow. That was quite an adventure. Brrrr. Glad you got outta there, especially after the carbon monoxide issue 😳 So sorry about the mat -Ellie’s poor feet.
When I camped outside with subzero temps I had a box of those hand warmers and would literally put them on all my pressure points inside my sleeping bag; what about that neoprene sheeting stuff for the walls? It's super thin so you wouldn't lose livable space..I like the concept of your tiny house though!! 😀

The bike is a blast for sure! You know I don’t think it was the coffee because I had made that well before I got the reading. I’m thinking it might have been fumes from the running car coming into the air intake… Definitely need to do some tests on the heater before relying on it again

lol I’ve done the same thing that board insulation is not that expensive but at the time I thought I was good until I had one of your days like on the video lol it’s not a total loss y’all had fun that’s all that matters buddy !!
I have family in MN. And it's weather like this that's the reason that I will never live there. The fact that y'all need to keep Hershey Bars and blankets in your trunk in case of a snowstorm. Good on you, but I'll stay on the east coast!
Did I miss the insulation video? Lol. Your asking a lot out of that diesel heater!😊. Especially when I don’t think your heating recirculated air, but fresh(cold) air from outside? Insulation would go a long way. But I know you don’t have a lot of extra room in that thing! Lol. Like the trailer “Big Tex”, that’s what my landscape trailer is right now(6.5x12). My “Poke Shack” is on my old landscape trailer(5x10 Sure Trac). There’s gonna be a Poke Shack 2.0 eventually, but not a hand-me-down landscape trailer, gonna have to get a serious trailer for a legit tiny house next time! Looking forward to Tiny Travel Cabin 2.0!😊. Anyway, congrats on the AG1 sponsor! Stay warm brother!😊
Haha you’re definitely right 😅 Let’s just say in the Travel Cabin 2.0 (which may or may not be in the works right now…) I’m going with insulation and a better, more reliable heater. I’d love to have a little wood stove possibly but we will see. Love that you’ve got some projects in the works too! The big Tex trailer is legit 🙌🏽
God dwells in our nature, bringing us peace. Jesus who is God manifested IN the flesh, is the peace that passes all understanding. Nothing or know one gives you peace like JESUS! Thank you Jack and Rylie for allowing the viewers into your lives. Oh, and your sweet baby girl. God Bless this family.
It look to be a live and learn camping trip, always come with more fuel, keep your secondary charger in a warm place, just fold the mat up with the tailgate. just a heads up if you're not going to use the color-coded fuel tank system you may want to use a black marker and write on that fuel tank diesel ⛽ people have made the mistake of using the wrong fuel in the wrong vehicle 🏍️ or the wrong machinery 🚜 because of a misinforming fuel tank. For some quick insulation buy a couple of the Solaron blankets and tackle to the walls they are decorative with many types of animals .Buy couple to roll up in there one of the best blankets I've ever used full suggestions whether you like them or not that's me 🤪🤯😞🤗
Maybe a Mr. Heater Buddy teed off of the propane for your stove may have been a good thing to heat up the lithium batteries enough to get you going? Other than that, I'm a big fan of LiPo and LiFePo batteries, but just in case, I have a couple of lead-acids golf cart batteries and a heater I built from a 250w PTC unit heater to give me safe, local temperature boost when I need it, either for me or those lithium batts!
I also like watching the videos with you and your wife or family because the video seems longer and more interesting to watch. 😅 I hope everything goes smoothly with birth of your baby. 👍

Here in northern Michigan we would call that a portable deer blind
That works too! 👍🏽👍🏽
lol I’ve done the same thing that board insulation is not that expensive but at the time I thought I was good until I had one of your days like on the video lol it’s not a total loss y’all had fun that’s all that matters buddy !!
That’s right! 😁👍🏽
Your passage is crispy like a snack😁😁
What an adventure!
😁👍🏽👍🏽
Awesome video as always! Great work
Thanks so much!
Gonna be 65 here in Delaware tomorrow getting the camping itch!
Lucky!! 🙌🏽
A little Woodstock for these little cabins would make you appreciate the lack of insulation. Nothing heats a space like a woodstove.
Absolutely 👍🏽 Wish I had one in there
Your vidéos are always so Awesome 👍👍👍👍👋👋👋
Thank you!!!
Good 👍 and blessed 😇 evening. God bless you and your family indeed 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 thank you 🙏🏻 for another awesome 👏 video 💕💕🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Of course! Thanks so much for watching!
I just ordered the AG1. i will let you know.
Great! Hope you enjoy!
I am from Wisconsin. You are a double for Aron Rogers!!!!!!!!
Haha that’s what people tell me 😅
Now why am I thinking about Jack London and 'To Build a Fire' . . ?
You are so brave! Funny thing is I really want to try camping in the winter!
Thanks! You will get your chance soon!! 🙌🏽
@@TinyCabinLife ❤
I have family in MN. And it's weather like this that's the reason that I will never live there. The fact that y'all need to keep Hershey Bars and blankets in your trunk in case of a snowstorm. Good on you, but I'll stay on the east coast!
Haha it’s definitely not for everyone! 👍🏽
thats to cold for me ,, stay safe my friend
🙏🏽
With wider base time to expand and add wood stove
A wood stove would be so great in there 👍🏽
Congratulations on having a daughter we have 4 of them…lol. , just found your channel . I enjoyed it
Thank you so much! And welcome to the channel!
Great video looking forward to to more
Thanks! More to come 👍🏽
Thank you for making me out loud when your mad broke for the last time 😁😉
Haha you got it 😂
God dwells in our nature, bringing us peace. Jesus who is God manifested IN the flesh, is the peace that passes all understanding. Nothing or know one gives you peace like JESUS! Thank you Jack and Rylie for allowing the viewers into your lives. Oh, and your sweet baby girl. God Bless this family.
🙏🏽🙏🏽
have you ever watched Post 10? he does some extreme camping up in Maine.
I haven’t! Will have to check it out!
Keep going buddy 😂 sound like me
Haha for sure 😁👍🏽
Love you Video's jack, I have days like that as well
Thanks so much for watching!
When you walked to the car barefoot, my toes curled in horror. LOL. PS: Gloves are you friend.
Haha totally!! That trip was a crazy one 😅
For some quick insulation buy a couple of the Solaron blankets and tackle to the walls they are decorative with many types of animals .Buy couple to roll up in there one of the best blankets I've ever used full suggestions whether you like them or not that's me 🤪🤯😞🤗
100% lessons were learned!
Love your video ❤stay warm
Thanks so much! 😊
Howdy! 👋👋 I like your tiny house 😃😃
Hey! Thanks so much!
@@TinyCabinLife 😊😊
That thar be cold!! 😳
Good call 👍🏽👍🏽
You should plan on back up systems regardless the primary source.
👍🏽👍🏽
You ought to check out the heater Slim Potato Head uses. His latest video shows how well it works.
Just looked at it! Looks pretty cool 👍🏽👍🏽
Wonderful experience.
Bye from Rome.
Thanks for watching!
Brrrr. Great video. Ellie is such a sweet ❤!!
Thanks so much! 😊🙏🏽
I also like watching the videos with you and your wife or family because the video seems longer and more interesting to watch. 😅 I hope everything goes smoothly with birth of your baby. 👍
Glad to hear that! 😊
I never thought about stocking up on some cigarettes. I'm not a smoker either, but I know a lot of ppl that are. 🤣 $$$$$ Gold mine!! Thanks Brooke!! LoL
How does the e-bike battery do in fridged temps?
Surprisingly well! I’ve never had an issue with it losing power somehow
