Silents Yachts are very pleased you have reviewed our range of yachts, however, there are several factual errors contained within your video. For example, The kW requirement at 7.5 knots on the Silent 80 is about 60 kW total and with nearly 700 kWh of battery capacity on the 2025 model, this gives a range of circa 85 miles using batteries only. We would like to extend you an invitation to visit our shipyard in Italy as our guest and fully understand the technical aspects of our yachts and be able to report correctly. Please contact us via the website. Thank you. Silent Yachts Team
Thanks! I added this to video description and pinned the comment. You probably need to pay more attention to range on the website because this is the main concern when it comes to anything electric these days.
From other yachting channels I've seen, the expectation is that these will be highly self sustaining when in a harbor or chilling at the dock. Ocean crossings are fully expected to take several weeks, traveling quite slowly. Some owners may wish to experience this, but some may hire a crew to do the crossing and just meet up with their yacht at the destination via plane.
@3:20 Did I hear that correctly? So one full charge (battery only at night) I can only get 10 miles (8 nautical miles) on a full battery pack - WITH the range extender? That can't be right? They advertise 100-120 nautical miles on a full charge at crusing speed (6-8 knots). Any chance you dropped a Zero?
There are 2 150 kw engines. If you cruise at 8-10 knots, they use 80-85% of power. So, with 300 kwh battery pack, this will lead to 1 h 20 min cruising aproximately. The range will be much better if you cruise at 2-3 knots at a sunny day cause batteries are charged. But I cannot see it cruisin 100 miles one a single charge under any conditions.
Hey! They are delivering 8 yachts from Fano yard in Italy this year. 8 yachts are planned for 2025. In late 2023 they changed ownership and aren't going out of business.

That is correct but also very capable of doing 2-3 hours silent cruising every day and sitting on anchor whilst relying on solar and batteries.
