Kitesurfing on Aruba a few months ago, there were a couple of days my wife could not swim and I didn't want to kite considering the offshore dumping of passing cruise ships - and it wasn't just bilge. Not everything about your industry is clean and sparkling as your videos make it look. As a former wheelsman on a small cruise ship I still enjoy your edits. Thanks!
Only in red condition exiting and entering the port It's busy and stressful I guess...Many times I was calling the bridge to open the watertight doors in the port in my first year on the ship and they were tired of me :)) after that I was not even calling anymore until I knew we are far from the port. Bridge on cruiseships its way more relaxed than others but the responsibility it's way bigger when you have so many people on board.
I do have a question for you captain kate. As a former Navy person with just over 4.5 years of deployements, so sea time, have you ever found that being gone that much is too much time to be away. Your stateroom and job would seeminly make it easier but i do have to ask.
