I've been wanting them to make one for years. I'd want a standard version with the dark green skin & purple dorsal spikes, and an atomic blast version with charcoal black skin and red dorsal spikes with a red blast piece. That'd be freegin' sweet.
IMO, I wouldn't even compare the NECA figures to the SHMA line. $20 vs. $80-$100 and up is not even a debate to me. Especially when the NECA figures are pretty close to movie accurate, and are literally _bigger._ You could buy 3-4 NECA figures for the insane price of _one_ SHMA. I just don't get their appeal. Their prices just make me feel shafted, especially when NECA is offering comparable figures at a third of their price.
@@TokuAndAnimationNewsNetwork Yeah, I noticed that too . When I push his head down, he look straight ahead. Plus since this is the one from Godzilla vs Mothra, they would make Godzilla look upward when he stand straight up and I noticed none of the other Godzillas are made like that, so that's how I came up with that theory. Nonetheless, I LOVE these figures HOWEVER neca make them.
I have to disagree with some of your nitpicks on this figure as he is pretty close to being movie accurate (it's about 95%). The eyes are painted with him looking up because for this film they had Godzilla tilt his head downward most of the time, so the eyes were always looking forward. As for the cheeks, sometimes they don't look as puffy in the movie because the teeth had been knocked out of the suit and they left it that way for a few shots. Now if this was the 64 suit from Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster, then the eyes shouldn't be looking upward when the head is tilted all of the way up. As for your having its leg off in the box, that's better than what happened with the first one I bought. Mine came with two left biceps for the arms. Thankfully my Target had gotten in 3 of him, so I was able to exchange him right away. I don't like the breath accessory though because it doesn't lock into his mouth. One shake and there it goes. Also, according to NECA, the slant piece is for the roof of the mouth, not the tongue. Two of the biggest issues I have with the MonsterArts is the giant gap in the back and the slits on the sides. Fortunately, NECA did not do those assnine slits, yet the figure can still stretch his legs out. It may not stretch out as far, but that works for me since I have no reason to put him out that far anyway. As for the spines, sure, in order to have him hunched over like in the movie you still need to have the gap, but at least NECA made it so you can slide the body back to cover the gap if you wanted to. Thus, it doesn't bother me like it does on the MA since it's now a choice thing. Plus, the gap doesn't look as out of place to me on the NECA compared to the MA. It is a shame NECA will not be giving us a Mothra to go with this Godzilla.
I put a light brush of blue on my 1962 beam but I see y they made it white because of the close ups of Godzilla in the film they used a smoke machine for the close ups but other scenes they used special effects
The 62 and 54 are still better. The face in the 64 still kinda bothers me. Especially that jaw articulation. Neca can do other versions of Mothra, Rodan, and Ghidorah they just don't want to do them. Too risky they say.
What's too risky about them doing the other Toho monsters? The demand is there, and NECA has the talent and the buyers to justify it. It's not like they don't already have a plethora of shelf warmer figures that nobody asked for. And if they're concerned about price with the bigger monsters like Ghidorah, they'd be surprised much money collectors are willing to fork out for the Monsterarts figures. If we can tolerate paying $80 - $100 for a Monsterarts Godzilla figure around the same size as a NECA one, then NECA can easily mark a Ghidorah figure for the same price. They're literally sitting on a gold mine of potential articulated figures of Toho monsters waiting to happen.
@@williamholtzclaw3029 They need to give us more millennium and Heisei era Godzilla figures. Their 94 & Burning Godzillas suck. They're so inaccurate. But I swear to god if NECA gives us that abominable Son of Godzilla suit over any of the better ones I'm gonna lose it
Bandai has done more than enough Heisei Godzillas in their MonsterArts line that I only want to see NECA tackle the Showa era for the moment. They need to give us a 65, 68, and 74.
@@burningfury4065 nah they'll be the same. They only changed his fins for kotm to make them more classic and it had an explanatipn in a comic. I expect kong vs zilla to be a direct follow up so he'll be the same :)

i really hope if neca makes a figure of the 1999/ 2000 Godzilla millennium version because I really love that design his long dorsal purple fins are sharp as lighting , that design gives me kid vibes of watching the power rangers, also fun fact millennium version Godzilla is green Godzilla junior as a adult ,because re-watching Godzilla vs destroyer , Godzilla junior did not die but pass out and wake up to se his dead dad , and the beginning of godzila junior in the Heisei Series, Godzilla junior was not like his dad but more peaceful to humans but in Godzilla vs destroyer , godzila junior wakes up after passing out and sees his dad dead and Godzilla junior has become like his dad in the future , hating on humans and taking away nuclear fusion as a way of saying that you did this to me and my dad, you made us happen and I want you to regret it , that's why some Godzilla's comes to japen because its hatred on human life for making Godzilla happen by the atomic bombs , and ive known is that some Godzilla's doesn't have hated humans most of the godzillas wanted to die but constantly living because they now think and wonder the bigger meaning in life and to protect it self as a animal not a monster , basically survival , that's what a part of why I love Godzilla , a curse, a symbol something to remember , a reflection of a dark shadow in all of us , sorry I went to far and went off somewhere else while commenting , also nice figure of the 1964 Godzilla, the poster I think it was made before the costume was made during being made and promotion posters to show what's the next movie,

Does it have the big hand problem like with 1962?
Nikolai Belinski no?

Why don’t they?

I have this Godzilla figure too still in the box and I love it
His eyes are looking upward because he fightin Mothra. And Mothra mostly flies high.
His eyes are upward because this Godzilla was hunched over and as such, the upward eyes made him look forward.

Ah Neca cutting corners. Using the same tail sculpt from the 62. 🥱. Good review gentlemen. 🥳
No they're not, look at the 64's tail it has a smooth bottom 62 does NOT have that!

Yeah who cares though...
