I can always pick out Dami, you are right. But I can pick out Gahyeon by her eyes, not necessarily her lips. I can USUALLY pick out JiU right away (especially by that awesome voice of hers). Then of course, Gahyeon and SuA are nearly the same height so that is easy since they don't look alike. Then it's a process of elimination. Since Siyeon looks somewhat like SuA but is taller, that gets easy. The hardest part is figuring out between Handong an Yoohyeon; even one of their own mothers mixed them up once when they both had blonde hair (I can't remember which mom it was). Dongie and Yoo are nearly the same height as each other, too!
Sua and Siyeon were easy for me though- Sua's nose and Siyeons eyes and cheek-bones made it easy for me to tell them apart- Handong was easy because the shape of her face is rather an oval... then Yooh's cheeks and chi made it easy for me to tell her apart from the rest- Although I do admit Deja Vu era Yooh looked a little too much like jiu and BEcuase had Yooh and Handong looking like twins lol Jiu was really hard for me though to tell her apart from Gahyeon XD but after noticing just how different Gahyeon's lips are- it became easy.
This group is one of the most versatile and unquie and i belief the only group where each members raps and sings specially in cover songs( you will find where members rap) and on the albums you will be shock to hear Dami's singing voice (the one with husky tone), you will definitely enjoy their albums as well.❤️

Love when new people dive into Dreamcatcher! Don’t feel bad for not getting the names right away. They have definitely been the hardest group for me to get down so far. Even Handong and Yoohyeon have confused themselves for each other before, lol. There’s so much to marathon through with this group! I would start with Insomnicsy’s “this is ___” series for the members and you can finish that with “this is Dreamcatcher”. they’re starting a new “this is ___” series for 2021 and I think the Siyeon one came out recently. They also have a variety show called Dreamcatcher Mind that’s 10 episodes on their official channel. They have tons of amazing B-sides, solos, units to listen too also. Fun Fact : So, there was an incident , Siyeon was alone in the dorm, she was showering, when she was done, other members were calling so, when she pick up the call, members were like "hey, we facetime you, and you answered it but you did nothing" (for eg : converse/communicate with them) and Siyeon was like " i just came out from the shower what are you talking about?", after that Siyeon hung up the call, and she called Jiu saying "Unnie Please come here, i'm scared to death" and "Jiu" hoped on taxi she usually never ride taxi but because of Siyeon she did, while holding a knife to protect Siyeon , when Jiu arrived, she was like come out!! (Yells at the intruder, but no one was there , its still a mystery who answered the call) So proud of the Leader❤️

You may or may not know this, but it is important to point out. Handong, the Chinese member of the group, was actually absent from the group for a large portion of 2020 because she left to go back home to China to participate in a show called Youth With You. After she was done, she couldn't leave China due to the coronavirus lockdown. Thus, she is not featured in most songs or videos released in 2020, including Scream and BOCA. She made her return when they released Odd Eye early this year. Just thought I'd let you know.

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the line "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. Piri is the final part of the Nightmare Arc, which spans 6 MVs. Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. It's not exactly a Deja Vu per definition, but I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event. And finally, BEcause. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done. About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you". The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even touch on the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your face turns blue, blue. Your expression is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.
I used to mix up JiU with Gahyeon, Yoohyeon with Handong, and Sua with Siyeon at first LOL Awesome reaction! (FYI Handong is not seen in some of last year's MVs because she was not able return to Korea from her visit to China due to Covid19)

It's been commented here already but with Dreamcatcher...most of their 'special clips' are self made mvs and also watching extra content from them or guides about them fills out this group so much. Also, personally, I had a hard time with Yooyheon and Jiu at first...depending on the video they have some similiar looks imo.
Awesome that you're diving into Dreamcatcher! I love how delighted you are by everything, and how you just If you like R&B stuff then you're gonna love their b-sides too, cuz their title tracks are very rock-influenced but they dive into a lot of different genres in the albums! Wonderland and And There Was No One Left you'll probably love. Can't wait to see the marathon! I also really admire you for trying to get all their names right lol! It seems like everyone has trouble with a certain few at the start. For me it was confusing Handong/Yoohyeon and Jiu/Gahyeon XD It's impressive that you actually KNOW all seven of their names already tho, even if you're not sure who's who! As time goes on you'll definitely start to recognize their faces and voices more, and watching dance videos, live performances, and off-stage content really helps since you're seeing who's singing/talking and don't have to deal with costume and hair changes between scenes like in the MVs! Until then tho, here's a couple distinctive traits to look for: Jiu: well, you really already know her lol, but she has a very breathy and "delicate" sounding voice that's pretty easy to pick out-she was also recently voted the most beautiful woman in kpop and has large, sweet features Sua: shortest (marginally), very pointed nose and chin, and you'll probably most easily recognize her because she's the main dancer, so she's got killer moves and is front and center a lot in dance breaks Siyeon: power vocals!!! she's also got very prominent, wide cheekbones and intense "wolf-like" eyes Handong: wasn't in Boca or Scream, so the first one you saw her in was Piri! she's got a longer face and cute apple cheeks and just in general a really elegant sort of aura about her Yoohyeon: tallest (marginally) with a very slender frame; has kind of a dainty face with a squarer jaw, pouty lips, and big eyes; also tends to get the most lines after Siyeon Dami [pronounced Dah-mee]: you also know her lol, but she's probably the most distinctive both visually and vocally because of her deep voice, square-ish face, and "drowsy-looking" eyes Gahyeon: if you hear someone rapping who isn't Dami, it's *usually* Gahyeon (although Sua and Handong have both done a little); most recognizable for the upturned corners of her lips and her really expressive face; she's also the youngest so especially in older MVs you'll notice she's got a very sweet, rounder baby cheeks

Fun Fact : So, there was an incident , Siyeon was alone in the dorm, she was showering, when she was done, other members were calling so, when she pick up the call, members were like "hey, we facetime you, and you answered it but you did nothing" (for eg : converse/communicate with them) and Siyeon was like " i just came out from the shower what are you talking about?", after that Siyeon hung up the call, and she called Jiu saying "Unnie Please come here, i'm scared to death" and "Jiu" hoped on taxi she usually never ride taxi but because of Siyeon she did, while holding a knife to protect Siyeon , when Jiu arrived, she was like come out!! (Yells at the intruder, but no one was there , its still a mystery who answered the call) So proud of the Leader❤️

Ive never been more frustrated yet interested and cheering for you on the guessing of the names 😆. You praised Yoohyeon and Siyeon so much but you placed that praise on the two members you got hooked, Jiu and Sua. It happens so a guide is a good idea. But the raw wanting to get to know them excitement is SO real.

You may or may not know this, but it is important to point out.
Handong, the Chinese member of the group, was actually absent from the group for a large portion of 2020 because she left to go back home to China to participate in a show called Youth With You. After she was done, she couldn't leave China due to the coronavirus lockdown. Thus, she is not featured in most songs or videos released in 2020, including Scream and BOCA. She made her return when they released Odd Eye early this year. Just thought I'd let you know.

Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip your spine out when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉
Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy, which deals with bullying and hate comments, in particular the online variant ("A trick behind a mask, a ridiculous freak" from Scream). Boca has the line "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics.
Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme.
Piri is the final part of the Nightmare Arc, which spans 6 MVs.
Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. It's not exactly a Deja Vu per definition, but I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event.
And finally, BEcause. Musically, the song is a fantastic journey. There actually are "cute" parts, but there also are parts where the guitars go full metal. The variations in BEcause remind me of their previous masterpiece, Deja Vu. The bridge with SuA's slow rap and Yoohyeon's adlibs is possibly the most beautiful one they have ever done.
About the meaning: According to Dami, BEcause is about love becoming obsession. And also, this is a stand-alone story. They go back to their horror roots, which I really enjoy. They noted that if you look at "BE" as a written Chinese character "悲“, that would mean "sadness". So the song title would mean "The Cause of Sadness". And that would make the lyric "because I like you" to maybe mean "the cause of sadness is I like you".
The video picks up on that. JiU seems to be the puppet master here (or her doppelganger!). She is the one trapping the other members and turning them into puppets, but Gahyeon tries to escape (as you can see by her throwing off the cage right in the beginning). It seems JiU catches her again though, "because she likes her". And I didn't even touch on the references to the movie "Us" yet, there is so much going on. The lyrics are even creepier. SuA sings: "Your face turns blue, blue. Your expression is like ocean view.", hinting at strangulation due to the one being obsessed taking things way, way too far. Dreamcatcher are clearly not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects, and they do it masterfully here - again. For me, this is more than just pop, it is art.
I used to mix up JiU with Gahyeon, Yoohyeon with Handong, and Sua with Siyeon at first LOL Awesome reaction! (FYI Handong is not seen in some of last year's MVs because she was not able return to Korea from her visit to China due to Covid19)

I envy you, the first impression is something unforgetable. You are getting their faces and names all wrong, it is so funny. Everyone had the same problem, me too (Sua~Syyeon~Gahyeon / JiU~Yoohyeon~Handong, Dami is unique). Also, personally, I had a hard time with Yooyheon and Jiu at first...depending on the video they have some similiar looks imo.

I love how delighted you are by everything, and how you just If you like R&B stuff then you're gonna love their b-sides too, cuz their title tracks are very rock-influenced but they dive into a lot of different genres in the albums! Wonderland and And There Was No One Left you'll probably love. Can't wait to see the marathon!
I also really admire you for trying to get all their names right lol! It seems like everyone has trouble with a certain few at the start. For me it was confusing Handong/Yoohyeon and Jiu/Gahyeon XD
It's impressive that you actually KNOW all seven of their names already tho, even if you're not sure who's who! As time goes on you'll definitely start to recognize their faces and voices more, and watching dance videos, live performances, and off-stage content really helps since you're seeing who's singing/talking and don't have to deal with costume and hair changes between scenes like in the MVs! Until then tho, here's a couple distinctive traits to look for:
Jiu: well, you really already know her lol, but she has a very breathy and "delicate" sounding voice that's pretty easy to pick out-she was also recently voted the most beautiful woman in kpop and has large, sweet features
Sua: shortest (marginally), very pointed nose and chin, and you'll probably most easily recognize her because she's the main dancer, so she's got killer moves and is front and center a lot in dance breaks
Siyeon: power vocals!!! she's also got very prominent, wide cheekbones and intense "wolf-like" eyes
Handong: wasn't in Boca or Scream, so the first one you saw her in was Piri! she's got a longer face and cute apple cheeks and just in general a really elegant sort of aura about her
Yoohyeon: tallest (marginally) with a very slender frame; has kind of a dainty face with a squarer jaw, pouty lips, and big eyes; also tends to get the most lines after Siyeon
Dami [pronounced Dah-mee]: you also know her lol, but she's probably the most distinctive both visually and vocally because of her deep voice, square-ish face, and "drowsy-looking" eyes
Gahyeon: if you hear someone rapping who isn't Dami, it's *usually* Gahyeon (although Sua and Handong have both done a little); most recognizable for the upturned corners of her lips and her really expressive face; she's also the youngest so especially in older MVs you'll notice she's got a very sweet, rounder baby cheeks
