Your assertion is not quite right!Sunny Ade had sang in English before this duet with Onyeka in 1987. He sang in English in the album FESTAC 77, Searching for my Love, 365 is my number/private line, Ariya is unlimited, Kwame Nkrumah, Sweet Banana & a few others ... he certainly did sing in English before this classic recording.
