In Jaati Talam, we demonstrate all the aksharams on Talam. All the beats have one kriya, in Laghu or drutam or anudrutam. But in chapu, there is no Laghu or drutam. Only certain aksharam is highlighted and demonstrated. Example in Khandam only, 'Ta, Ta, and ki' is shown, 'ka and ta' are not shown. Chapu is used when there is fast tempo of the song.
