This series really shows the difference between being kind and just being harmless. Inuyashiki , the protagonist, chose to do good and tried to not hurt anyone or abuse his power even though he very much could. Whereas Hiro is just a straight up psychopath who is choosing to live out every intrusive thought he's ever had. Showing that he was always a budding serial killer deep down who was just harmless because he didn't actually have the *power* to act on his fantasies Power doesn't corrupt, it reveals
@doernbecherr the blatant randomness of his killing there isn't an emotion behind it as he's trying to emulate or feel emotions. He never really targets the same type of people unless provoked, you can say the 2 kids in the alley but unfortunately wrong place wrong time and the more he kills the likelihood it will increase, he starts with smaller animals and notices his increased strength, he immediately tests what he's capable of where as a peaceful person such as the Mc isn't focused on the powers and more the fact his cancer is cured and he has a new body and tries to do better in his life. After realizing his strength he tries to impress his friend using the car trick which then leads into the bully incident because he knows he can take care of those he "cares about" more like people he'd want to be around psychopaths are very social and tend to protect the things closest to them hence his cured mother. When his friend said he crossed the line he understood and told him to keep going to school which implies he still wants his friend to get an education skip forward provocation, retaliation, consolation from someone he thinks he can use, contemplates killing them and burying his trail, instead trusts them to not turn him in he doesn't show this but I'm pretty sure she knew he was trying to kill her and that made her happy and realize he can change correct me if I'm wrong haven't watched it in a while, never once showing remorse for his actions but never once showing genuine happiness for his actions only enjoyment in the fact that he is making someone he is attempting a relationship with happy, plot happens she's dying he goes xgames mode finds the main character ( currently the hero keep in mind his name is hiro) this implies the things he did he thought was right, because I'm this strong it doesn't matter what happens (no retaliation for his killings) or because I'm this smart I can get what I want if I try (pleasntries) the killings what his attempt to make himself human as he could've potentially felt himself slipping away into machine, after all he read one peace meaning he thinks being rough and tough and taking down the baddies is what matters and isn't afraid to end someone to save someone. Hence why for the potential first time he cried as he realized his entire hopes and dreams shatter but still can't really feel much and stands his ground regardless in a blind rage (this potentially could mean he is a sociopath allowing more levels of feeling) but its unlikely with the sheer density and disregard for even planes. hiro is a tragic character who was given wayy to much power to young and obviously wasnt mentally mature enough to use it responsibly it wasnt his upbringing it was just a kid with alot of issues who had no idea how to resolve it
Even though we never get an explanation to *why* Hiro starts killing people outside of *"he wants to"* , if I had to take a guess it because he's *lashing out* His parents are split up with his mom being miserable and his dad having a whole other family, so it makes sense that, given he's obviously got psychopathic tendencies on top of that, he felt genuine resentment for these families having a life he didn't. Hell, same with the two kids. His best friend literally just cut all ties with him eariler that day and then he sees these 2 kids, who are obviously friends and, again, he lashes out. That's just *my* interpretation tho
