    I like the dura block comment ! …. Bondo Billy does a couple funny vids on uses for dura blocks …. On one he uses it as a “ slap hammer 🔨 “ 😅

    Matt it’s always great to see what’s happening inside the Shut Yer Face Garage! Excellent demonstration and tech tips on applying filler and I thank you for sharing your experience, expert insight. I have to admit, sometimes I miss the heater blowing, Jim Welding and Angel on the camera…. And music and 30:43 the banter and Stuff like that. Thank you Sir!

    I'm a newbie haven't done NEAR as much as you but I like blocking. Filler or primer doesn't matter when the guide coat 'shows me the magic' it fascinates me. Might do a bodywork business when I retire. LOL

    Just looked back , I came across your channel on the vid " How to Apply Bodyfiller" ....back in Sept 2013 ....and here we are all these years later. Cars have come and gone , but your skills are still great to watch . Are you painting this one too or just doing the bodywork ?( sorry if you've already said)

    • @SYFGARAGE

    to stop the sandpaper from clogging when semi wet or dry, use a WET clean cloth/rag and wipe the surface one or 2 passes, then the tacky shit coating is gone, but sometimes on some bogs it wont remove it but most bogs i have done that too its removed the coating, it saves you sand paper, frustration anger and money, but when you remove this coating the bog becomes very porous

    life is too short to keep sanding with sand paper that has below 70% of its usefulness left .... good video, slow steady progress

    What kind of block is that ?

    • @SYFGARAGE
      @SYFGARAGE  6 місяців тому +1

      It’s from big kid blocks. They are ok. Also look into lucky blocks.

  • @lawncuttingplusdelta
    @lawncuttingplusdelta 6 місяців тому

    Not wasting money at all , but I know you are kidding around ….. the reason you change out sooner is it does a proper job when cutting perfect and right when it’s close is the critical time to cut the filler evenly ….I use that same brand sometimes cause it’s less than half 3m I believe and it’s 60-70 percent as good maybe lol… but again , fresh pieces are king 🤴

    • @SYFGARAGE
      @SYFGARAGE  6 місяців тому

      It’s almost ready for paint. My buddy’s got carried away and stripped it to metal and did all the rust patches it needed and shaved the gas door. It should be in final primer this weekend.

    Always block Bondo with 80 grit to start?

    • @SYFGARAGE
      @SYFGARAGE  5 місяців тому +1

      Yes. 80 will cut it straighter than 120 or a higher grit. You can switch to 120 when it’s close to finished.
