I'm not really sure why this realization came to me, but a big congratulations to Kev for remembering to play the music in every battle without fail for nearly a month! Although... I do miss DJ Mikey Fresh throwing some sick backing tracks though.
you have no idea how much i relate to your last game, whenver i think that i cannot make a specific play because even a toddler would see that coming and play around that, i do something else and get punished for it 🤣
I have the same feeling. Maybe watching high level games is not the best preparation for low ladder. I have the same feeling in showdown were a 1400 player will think about his actions. The big problem is the regime around ~1200 were I am crawling around. I think this is around the same as the ingame ladder from rank 12000 - 3000 or something like that. The decision often comes down to: Is my opponent doing the obvious play and risking to lose everything or the smart play that comes with a minor disadvantage (often switching) when expected. I think the opinion of a top player on that topic would be insightful, especially because we might trick ourselves in believing that our predictions were smart :)
@@aarionsievo yeah i somewhat managed now to understand how to play, if i'm low on the ladder i just click buttons, because another huge difference is that no one clicks protect in low ranks, when i am in top 2000 i starting assuming people do have knowledge of in-game mechanics, know that if i am leading clefairy calyrex it means i'm clicking trick-room and so on :D i did a few road to rank1 and a lot of the times i failed (which is most times btw), i failed because someone made a move that would've lost them the game on the spot, but they did it anyway, so i kinda learnt my lesson now, but sometimes i just feel the urge to cover for the option 🤣
30:37 I can't stress enough how often, when using Pelipper against other people, they STILL click spread moves. It's as if they are unaware that Pelipper learns it. The word didn't spread i guess.
The opponent definitely know pelipper have "wide guard" and he is betting on u not to click it bcuz it is the most "obvious" play u can do in front of two spread move user... Kevin got baited
@@kevinloh3997 In some cases yes. From a game theory point of view, when wide guard is the save option and not going for it does not come with a big drawback, one should us it with high probability in his scenario, despite it being obvious. But fully committing to two spread moves with defeat as an alternative is not very smart either. So yes, I think using wide guard would have been the right decision but nevertheless it was not very smart to commit to tera and two spread moves from his opponent, considering that he was not behind and therefore I do not see a justification for such a high risk play. On the other hand I am not a pro player so do not listen to me :)
@@aarionsievo well, the opponent is already behind, opponent ain got nothing to lose by clicking two spread moves in hope that Kevin does not wide guard it, since it is the most obvious move Kevin can click using pelipper. Kevin overthink and he got punished for it. As u said, we are not pro player, so this is just my theory of what is going through the opponent head while clicking two spread move in front of a wide guard user. Either the opponent is an idiot who got lucky or the opponent just made a genius move and totally read Kevin mind, we will have no way to tell. :)
Trivia: Before Gen 6 all of Pikachu's stats were lower than Elekid's. Now with a slight buff in its defense all of its stats are lower except defense which went from 30 to 40, only 3 points higher than Elekid's 37 defense. Basically without the Light Ball, the Pokémon mascot is weaker than a baby Pokémon.
@Kasaaz even at the time, I was pretty impressed that all of Kanto was also in the game. I didn't think (or quite understand) that you could fit that much in one game. I'm still hoping that someday they will do that again with the new games. (Pipe dream nowadays)
Yoooooooo I just made a team with light ball pikachu with volt tackle it actually ohkos kyogre kyurem and reshiram fuse with iron tail im hyped af for this 1.
Now that done available box legendary now finishing box starter Pokémon Kanto starters already done so now Pikachu and Eevee Also would be funny if did road to No. 1 with Ash's team and moves
It's not a rain team lol. I just have pelipper for the wide guard stuff and i just didn't wanna use the usual water meta mons like urshifu so I brought Basculegion in.
That's a Pikachu with Ash's hat! That Pikachu got a plot armor. Lol
At last, the REAL powerhouse. Eleki? Washed! Miraidon? TOASTED!

That 3 hp brother?? I guarantee dude on the other end was salty.
Coincidentally this came out on the same day Wolfey released the "What is the Best Electric Type Pokemon?" video
This man has personal issues against wide gaurd🤣🤣
Zacian should be on a team with defiant or competitive mons
Your second opponent was using the same six mons that were in Rajan bal's Indianapolis winning team which is why he had Draco meteor on miraidon

No wonder when we first see Paul in the anime, he has an Elekid.
@@Connowot387 Paul represents the entire competitive playerbase lmao
The last battle Pikachu (toughed it out so you wouldn’t feel sad) haha affection reference. ❤
Based on the Trivia in the Description; I am an old man and only ever missed the Gen 2 and Gen 5 games. I feel like I missed two of the wildest ones.
You're not missing much in Gen 5. A lot of people are nostalgic for it, but I don't get it.
As a fellow old man who played gen 2.. it's probably my fav gen.. 5 being my least..

Kevin outplaying himself with that wide guard throw was sad, at least he won anyway lmao
I love Kevin from the Kevinverse 😂
You made the first battle much more difficult than it needed to be
PIKACHUUU!!!!😂
You definitely used the power of friendship that last turn of the last match 😂
34 days since Kevin used a Psyduck team
Pikachu is goated with the sauce for sure

Why would an electric tera Miraidon run Dgleam Kevin?
Thumbs up to the PIKACHUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Pikachu use thunder !!!
i battled pokesports a day or two ago he used galarian slowpoke and i got outplayed been waiting for that video to drop

It seems Lisa gets rage quit because her miraidon got destroyed
Now that done available box legendary now finishing box starter Pokémon

Rain team without kyogre and urshifu
Why can’t I use the team is the code expired?
The creator probably cancelled the code since it's months old. sorry :(
