R.I.P. I worked in a program where the folks would play this song “Good Morning” everyday to start their morning. It was an adult learning center for individuals with developmental disabilities and the amount of joy this song brought them was amazing.
This was my literal anthem, the good morning song every time I woke up for like a month

She suffered from severe depression 😢 I don't want to think the worst.

Cause of death not yet known. It is under investigation. She had no known sickness. She did this video a couple of days before her death. She had missed a meeting on Thursday, wasn't responding to phone calls so they notified her family and they went to check on her and she was dead. Unfortunately she had been suicidal for years and talks a bout it in her book that she wrote in 2017.

I'm still having problems processing the news that she passed away. I remember watching and rooting for her on American Idol. I loved that she used a one name Moniker which made her stand out even more. I also remember watching her journey to be fit and healthy. She was beautiful, sweet and, of course, a very talented singer. RIP Mandisa! 🎙 ❤🙏💐
How sad to hear about Mandisa’s passing. Her song “Overcomer” help Me so much after my mom passed away suddenly and every time I hear it, it brings me to tears. Rest with the Lord, beautiful lady.

As it happens must often, most people don't realize the impact of other people's work until they're gone....... Her overcomer song is so powerful, has motivated me so many times.... It's true what Jesus said, that you may bear fruit and fruit that will remain. This reminds me of Pastor Charles Stanley... Another fellow Christian who's work I didn't really truly value until now that he's gone. May these two Saints be enjoying God's presence or may they be awaiting the resurrection of the dead to hear well done, my good and faithful servant. 🙏🏾✝️

I was blessed to see Mandisa in concert 3 times. The second time I had a VIP pass to meet Mandisa. She was going through a ruff time, she had to sit on a stool to sing.She was very burdened, and I could see hurt in her eyes. Several years later she was with Toby Mac and she told her testimony of depression, about being on American Idol and her battle with weight.Then her best friend had died with cancer and leaving behind small children. This sent her into a deep emotional depression that she didn’t want to come out of her house.She told of how her christian friends and family would not let her just lock herself away from the world and she got help and grew in her relationship with Jesus Christ.That’s when she was in the best physical shape I ever had seen her, even when she was sing with Travis Cottrell . She preached and poured her heart out that night in Birmingham Alabama!!! She had the best vocals and she never sat down!!! She has touched so many lives and I am one of them. I look forward to the day that we can sing with Mandisa in God’s Heavenly choir 🙏🏻🙌🏻

Always wonder why God chooses to take the ones who emulate Him early. Sad for us here on earth but rejoicing with Mandisa for her new home with Jesus. What a glorious reunion.
