    one thing to note with the nox is that if you bump the coil to much it picks up the wire above it moving, wich can make you get false readings and make you keep digging for ever lol

    What I have found with the Equinox 800 is when in gold mode Numbers is not something I would use to much. Even when coin hunting, you can get 2,3 or 4 coin next to each other and the numbers are moving about. I have dug plenty of crap then got a coin just next to it or in the same hole. After a lot of use you start working the Equinox out. I would still Ground Balance and Noise cancel every time I turn it on.

I still could not find any video of gm 1000 being used this way .... thanks.

    I bought the Nox 800 as I mostly detecting in parks for old coins and that But still have a detector that can find gold, I recently bought the 6 inch coil for it because the Terrain here in New Zealand is difficult as im going on a short trip there to look for gold with a small group. There is new Iron bias settings for the Equinox, I wonder does that help reduce about of junk and hot rock than having it set to zero.

      @@GOLDAUSTRALIA Definitely does, mate. XP Skills School, Clegy..... asked around and it is the one to find, depending on how you use it, deeper or finer - or both I suppose. It gets deeper than the others because of the elliptical shape. The only drawback is that it doesnt get as good a scan radius. Nevertheless, the scan radius wouldnt matter if you knew what you were doing, I suppose.

    Use the GM1000 regularly here. With no hot rocks present the GM will show ferrous on smaller gold especially at depth. The tones are extremely important! I’ve dug 3+ grammers that showed only ferrous on scale but were deep. Great comparison of machines though!

    Thanks for all the work to make this video. I have had all three detectors, found gold with all three and still have the Nox and the ORX. I like more information and more settings but that is just me. For a newbie the Gold Monster 1000 is hard to beat.
    I run the Nox with manual ground balance and always noise cancel for each of the Gold modes. Doing a quick ground grab with the Nox is super easy and no risk of tracking out a target. Otherwise, I hunt just like you except I start out with the 6" coil for the shallow stuff and then switch to the 11" coil for the deeper stuff. The ORX has awesome audio and really hits hard on tiny gold with the HF Elliptical coil. Love the iron probability meter too on the ORX. For waterproof like the Nox, the Makro Gold Kruzer is a fine gold/micro jewelry detector too.....
    Thanks again!!!

    Summary at 1:00:00. My take, get 2nd hand Xterra 705 for the beach and parks, and 2nd hand GM for the goldfields, about the same price as the Nox800 new. Great vid mate

    • @topdeckdog
      @topdeckdog 3 роки тому +1

      Sorry mate but I don't agree with you at all here!
      I've owned all of these and can assure you that an 800 absolutely DESTROYS a 705 in wet sand. I also own a $100 Aldi detector (has found over $200 in coins on the beach) which performs just as well as the 705 in DRY sand. Any cheap detector works well enough for coins in dry sand or in a park (the person swinging it would make the bigger difference), but wet, salty sand or hunting fine jewellery is a very different story. I can swing my Sovereign XS 2a Pro on the waters edge, but can only swing the 705 on the edge of the dry.
      BBS technology in the Sovereign series (still in the Excalibur) was a complete game changer for the wet. Swing it and you'll understand immediately, because it runs smooooth. A Nox 800 also runs multiple frequencies at once and performs similarly/better. The Xterra 705 runs a single frequency only. Great on grass/dry sand/quiet ground but that's about it.
      My take - they were good machines but not worth the extra money than a 305/505. These days i'd go for a Vanquish which is WAY better for a decent price. If you're serious about gold in Aus keep finding coins on the beach until you can afford a P.I. (yes, I own a couple of them too!)
      Finally well done to the bloke in this vid for pinging a piece in that ground with a VLF. Respect

      The 6 is fine you need to play with the settings over a small nug , remember numbers are key on all metal mode, I would hunt in NON ferrous.
      If I had of shortened it any more it would not of worked, I needed to show everything.

    To get the chirpy noise out of the GM I pump the machine up and down in a circle until it stops, if it’s still noisy I knock it back one sensitivity, and that stops all the constant noise

    Watching you using the minelab right now. You HAVE to watch the numbers? I prefer - and am trying to learn - detecting via noise feedback. I know I can check the numbers but to be honest, until I come up with more experience, they arent as meaningful to me.

    Hot rock was the terminology ascribed to the original vlf detectors because they sounded off on
    rocks and ground that contained nothing whatsoever.
    Today the the terminology "hot rock" is ascribed to
    ores and ground mineralization that are not gold lumps
    which are rare worldwide. More than %60 of the worlds gold is estimated to be fluxed less than
    %40 pure. There has never been found pure gold nuggets in nature. Impure gold is from so called "hot rocks" is thousands if not many multiples of thousands of times more plentiful
    worldwide than the "gold nugget". Detector manufacturers sling the term "hot rock" as if they were in some sort of a club, club dumb. Without digging up and crushing and classifying and panning and burning how do you or we to know what you are
    calling "hot rocks"?
    By the way Minelab's "Mold Monster" misses the mark. Ground tracking is cute but severly castrated. Where is the rest of the circuit?

    • @GOLDAUSTRALIA
      @GOLDAUSTRALIA  2 роки тому +1

      Mate im not sure where your from but here in Australia hot rocks are just that hot rocks, no gold and found by both vlf and Pulse Induction, some if the most pure gold in the world comes from Australia, Clermont Queensland gold is 98% and a lot of buyers wont buy from anywhere else.
