When listened to this as a kid (I was 12 in 1978 when I bought it) it always sounded like it was speeding up and slowing down, and I mean not on purpose, like it was just the way it was recorded. When I was older and knew what a sequencer was, and that this probably was not made with one, you can understand the wonkyness of the tempo.
Based on the novel "Crash" by J. G. Ballard, notoriously filmed by David Cronenberg.
This is a great video! Well done. No clue how the monkeys at UA-cam haven’t hammered you for it. But glad it’s here ❤❤❤
this is literally how i always envisioned the music

Influcenced by the novel 'Crash?'
More than just influenced. Read it.
@@geoffreypiltz271Read the book and watched the movie version in the past.
If it wasn't frightening enough it sure is going to give me nightmares now 😳🙀
Brilliant
Good stuff! Someone please share lyrics.
All done on one synth. The Korg 700.
Outstanding, one of the best videos to a track ever
78 год. Охуеть...
My introduction to minimalist industrial music along with Cabaret Voltaire & DAF in one memorable night. Within a week cut off my long hair and got a pair of Docs.
I totally love what you've done here. A great visual to support the music. This would be amazing playing on a big screen, in a club while the song played.
Ace 🙂👍👍👍
The late Jeremy Hardy.
One of the repräsentativ Song of the 80s.
Heard this last night on 6 music and wrote it on a post it note, that's how much I love this.
Great video. Really gets the spirit of the thing that the original video didn't quite do (too humancentric)...
Excellent...Pubis.
This is not post punk (many comments).
I'm here after i watched the movie "antebellum''. I'm gonna buy a huge SUV and play this music ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Love the video to this 👍
He came out with the original in '78 Way ahead of his time ...crazy!
Reminds me of LE PHONO & RICKYS clubs in LEEDS..
I DIRECTLY searching for this song after watching "Annabelle" movies/kidnapping scene... LOVE this song!!
Nice

That was truly CYMKing awesome.
Thanks Joseph
don't say you like the anime (this vid) if you haven't read the manga (PBJ Ballard's Crash)
That music sounds so VERY much like Coil, like even a particular song of theirs, but I cannot remember which.
Well spotted. First track on Scatology.
@@mjcoombe Thanks! For some reason I was thinking other albums but now I hear it completely and brings back memories of playing it on LP.
We were actually on this cruise ship back in 2018. Pluses: very few other passengers. No lines for food. Lots of privacy. Minuses: oddly loud, despite the lack of passengers. Hard to sleep at night. Also, we were without power twice, for several hours at a time, due to what they called (but didn't explain) "exhaust exhaustion".
Could you do one about trees? I was thinking maybe that No. 1 could be... THE LARCH
Waiting eagerly for the Depeche Mode *Music for the Masses" version
well cool
To be honest I didn't know what leatherette was at first and I actually thought that warm leatherette was some sort of object used for sex.
I have to hand it to you, that was a good video.
Cheers A
warm leatherette ... join ...the car crash set!
som do da pesada
J.G. Ballard approved. Christian Bale did a good job playing him in that Spielberg movie nobody knows about.
nice job. you should show your work to ad agencies.
Thanks Matt, already working for one
Never play this in your car if you're a taxi driver and there's a client in back.
Antebellum. And what a fantastic video! Why the f*** have I not heard this before? It’s everything modern techno should be! I could dance to this all night!
Who's here after Antebellum?
grace jones brought me here
The Big Lebowski has been assigned to Ascertain your Nihilistic Asses. Hold on to your copies of Autobahn Vinyls-The Lebowski is going to get you! :-)
Great track, fantastic job on the video. Works really well. Hope Daniel M has seen it and likes. I also reckon Monsieur Ballard would have approved. :-)
thank you
I was watching Antebellum and thought "Wow, this is how the 2020s music will sound like?", just to find out that it's a 1978 song! hahaha
that's my story too, man! :D
This sound made a comeback at the end of the 90's as electroclash, so it's overdue its next run, so don't give up hope that we will be delivered from the deluge of mediocre hipster garbage that has been the last two decades.
@@megamarkd tell me about it, bud! hahaha
Same age as me (1978) and goes hard in 2021.
