Let's Play The Simpsons: Road Rage - Introduction & Homer Run

- Hey guys and welcome to my new Let's Play!
The Simpsons never really had a great video game until Hit & Run came out (some might disagree with some of the old NES games, but even now, at least by my standards, they don't stand up very well). However, a few years before Hit and Run, they got pretty close to a formula that worked pretty well, but it was way more repetitive and focused more on a Crazy Taxi sort of gameplay. Although Hit and Run was miles superior, I thought there was some charm in Road Rage, so I decided to bring you guys an LP of it.
Mr. Burns has started a new line of transportation, a set of nuclear-powered buses. However, The Simpson family and other residents of Springfield have noticed that these buses are dangerous to the people and environment, so they decide to start their own car pool service to rival the buses. However, it's going to take a lot of dough to overcome the millionaire and put his buses out of business.
This will be a 100% playthrough of the game with massive cuts. It takes many, many, MANY runs to get the eventual goal of $1,000,000, so instead, I'm just going to show one run with every character. and 3 runs each of the 6 courses. I will also show the Mission Mode as well.
In this first video, I introduce the main menu and the LP in general and then do a silent run (no voices) of the first level with Homer.
The first time I ordered Road Rage after playing at a friend's house, my parents got mixed up and bought Hit and Run. I got Road Rage eventually, but liked Hit and Run better
Well, I hear that Hit and Run is kind of a Pseudo-Sequel to Road Rage because of the Mission Mode. Although Hit and Run is more of Grand Theft Auto while Road Rage is more of Crazy Taxi.
And the forgettable Simpsons skateboarding is like Tony Hawk, which I’m sure ALMOST NOBODY enjoyed lmao
But people did enjoy the original Tony Hawk games :)

The reason people are saying this is bad, is because they were expecting the game to be something it isn't. If you think of the game like Crazy Taxi, and get into the mindset that it's a Simpsons Crazy Taxi, and excuse the fact that this was released only a year into the PS2's life, it's not a bad game to kill time with.
The game was released 1 year after the PS2 hit the shelves, 2 years after Crazy Taxi hit the Dreamcast, and 6 months after Crazy Taxi was ported to the PS2. I had it when I was a puppy, and I thought it was awesome!

I am going to replay this visual experience/program in 2018 or 2019 AD/CE.
You know, whenever I got the chance, no matter which Simpsons character I play, I always want to run over Gil (The guy in the blue formal clothes at 7:04) to hear his anguish and laugh.
I wish EA made a remastered version of Simpsons Road Rage cause I miss playing it on the PlayStation 2
SDBM123 won't happen Sega sued the game for copying crazy taxi. I can't see EA paying Sega for the rights
@@SEGAtendo1989 Sega is too darn greedy; GTA and other IPS also featured side cabbie/taxi missions available for our disposal....why did Sega LLC file a lawsuit against only EA Interactive group & not against other f-g development teams !?

@@DmitriyK12 well for 1 road rage's taxi mission is the whole game and GTA's is just a side mission.
Road rage copies crazy taxi completely. The arrow on top, the circle around the customers on pick up, the square flashing drop off point should I go on.
Other than a timer which no one owns, nothing on GTA is the same as crazy taxi

I could not agree with the [current] description more, awesome to see another slimkirby LP of something i'm really interested in, ans the old hit and run LP is what made me subscribe. I can tell this LP will be good.

Wow, I can't say I was expecting this, but it'll still be interesting to see how this project turns out.
The difficulty makes it to where you earn more money, good way to rack up cash during off screen playing. Hint hint.
And the question mark thing is for the "special drivers" which is basically a reskin of another driver for a holiday, based on the system's internal clock. Although there are cheat codes to use them at any time.
I guess the video ended so soon because it Road Rage quit!

After seeing your hit and run LP this is great your doing this. Hit and run is far better but this still looks good.
This and Luigi's Mansion were the first games I ever played for the 'Cube (I rented them). I wish I could find this and pick it up. LOVE Hit and Run, but this did kinda sorta lay some groundwork for that. Fun game! :)

Still though, out of the three modes in the Main Menu screen, I would take Sunday Drive because I just like to do whatever I want in games, not do stupid story missions. Hit and Run doesn't even let you choose a game setting where you do whatever you want.
I don't know. That's just how I like to do things in video games.

Slim, to help with the money issue, there is a specific location inside of Evergreen Terrance, I BELIEVE it is around the "Hoffman's" destination, where there will be an alleyway that starts right by a building's front, if you will go in through the alley, you'll find someone who wants to go to the building, so just back up or drive through the alley there, and then the passenger within arm reach wants to go to the end of the alley. Not sure if my game copy was glitched, just what I recall.

I think it's been implied in a few episodes that he has feelings for them.
You guys never played Crazy Taxi? Because this is basically what it is: a Simpsons version of Crazy Taxi. I enjoy playing this when I was a kid.
It hit the market when Crazy Taxi was still pretty popular, so it was seen as little more than a Simpsons-themed reskin. By no means a bad game on its own merits, the main problem was a then-blatant lack of originality in gameplay.

I have always loved Road Rage tho Hit and Run can be considered its sequel , it uses some of its voice clips and its character models , tho RR was published by EA and HAR was published by Vivendi Universal both made by Radical Entertainment
Occasionally when I play this game, I get an error message before playing this game. And also during gameplay after picking up the passangers.
So looking at the description, I'm half curious if you've played The Simpsons: Arcade Game. I personally think that's still one of the best arcade games out there, and definitely either the best or 2nd best Simpsons game around.

I liked this game. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but I enjoyed it. I enjoyed Hit and Run a lot more. But this was fun. Unlocking the characters and doing the Sunday Drive. Crashing into everything. Fun game.

I had this game for PS2 and played the hell out of it. Personally, I'm looking forward to the missions because I was too incompetent to finish them all.

I can't imagine this being let's playable but this IS slim so this could be interesting.
Either that, or you get much more common Fast bonuses (I.E. with no time left on the clock (0 seconds) you get a fast rating)

The ? character is actually a HOLIDAY character. It is a cheat, you can look up Simpsons Road Rage cheats anywhere on the internet and you'll find out that if you actually change the date of your game console to a holiday like Halloween or Christmas you'll get special custom characters! Like zombie Bart and Santa Apu, I hope you read this Slim, you should inform the audience about this.
Bumblebee Man most likely wanted to go to Lovejoy's house to discuss to the Rev about issues, or to entertain Helen or Jessica like another guy said while commentating in a Road Rage Let's Play.

Well, since SlimKirby mainly plays Nintendo's systems, Family Guy has no Nintendo release. It was only released for PSP, PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

I agree with you that hit and run is much netter slim but on the bright side in this game you can play as krusty flanders and a few others you couldnt play before.

Willow Opalbrooke in all honesty, if I had had his job, I'd want to be killed too if I had to drive a radioactive bus. Seriously, did you not see that thing glowing? I'd want to be put out of my misery too if I were in his situation. That would be the worst job ever. I'd prefer being driven around in a Crazy Taxi, pun intended, then to be riding a bus that's glowing and radioactive!

Hit and Run was really more like Driver 2....Mostly driving, but little to nothing to do on foot.

I don't know why, but my experiences with road rage is that the harder difficulty is easier, because I think, lemme repeat, I THINK that you get more money on hard. Just my experiences though :3
