FREE FB Marketplace Furniture Flip | Raw Wood and Fusion Mineral Paint Makeover

- In this video I am painting 2 pieces of free furniture I found on the Facebook Marketplace. This project is great for beginners who want to learn how to paint furniture, remember you don’t have to add new legs as I do! For this furniture makeover, I use Fusion Mineral Paint in “Algonquin” and I leave the tops raw wood, which goes nicely with the paint color.
I hope you enjoy this dresser and nightstand makeover! If you have any projects you are working on feel free to tag me on Instagram and I'll post it to my story!

I can't believe how much better it looks with that color and those legs. I would never have thought to do it that way. Great job! Beautiful pieces
Thanks!! Glad you liked the results!
That set is PRICELESS NOW!! So beautiful!!
Thanks for the kind words Melissa!! :)
His style of painting is so effortless and soothing
Very nice. Personally, I like the somewhat eccentric mix of styles in this piece - gives it character. It's for sure something, every visitor will look at (twice) and probably comment on. Not everyone will love it, but that's what makes it 'art', not just a random piece of furniture.
Funny, the buyer came and said she loved the mix of new and old and used "character" too. Thanks for the truthful kind comment!!
Holy Cow! great color and the raw wood tops are just right. You have a good eye, skill and moxie. Ask $ 775.00 !!
Love the color and the legs ... I would have either got new hardware to match legs or painted the legs gold to match the hardware. Just personal preference 😉
Same
Or painted the hardware matte black to match the legs. Great job, love your thorough tutorial.
very nice. I love that color. Dude wear a respirator 😉
Thanks Kimberly! And hahah I did for 2 coats but the last poly coat I had my garage door open and didn’t bother. It’s water based at least 😂
Looks so much more elegant
Geeeeshhhh now thats beautiful 🤩
Thanks man!!
Looks so smooth and elegant! Cleaned up hardware really shines bright with that paint color as well. Great job💖💖💖
Thanks Roshawnda! Glad you like how it looks :)
I really love the paint color with the new looking hardware and totally loving the raw look of the tops. I think the dresser could use some more substantial legs though. I like the black metal look... They just look a bit too small under the large dresser for me. Although, I'd still buy it at any price you set since its really quite beautiful! Keep up the great work!
Despite my aversion to "hairpin" legs, I hafta say you did a magnificent job! Keep 'em comin'.
New video you say? Why thank you sir ... *tips hat* 😎
Imo the final result looks great, except for those new legs. I do love hairpin legs on mid-century style pieces, but they don’t look right on these colonial style pieces. Especially not in combination with those drawer pulls.
thanks for your opinion! For hardware, Reason 1 is ROI, 16 new pulls are expensive. Reason 2 I would have had to use wood filler on each area because original hardware shape was in the wood, this would have taken much more time.
Love the color. Like the black legs. Would have paint the hardware black... just my preference... looks awesome.
no i like it with the black legs and gold hardware! I like it i would gladly have it in my house!
Thank you so much! Appreciate the kind words :)
Looks really good: I like your choice for the new legs, and the refurbished hardware looks beautiful!
Thanks Joyce!
That’s just amazing well done you x
Thanks for the info on how to remove and put new legs! Really updated the pieces. I appreciate the quality work you did.
Love the color
What a great paint job! I really feel like using the old hardware was a misstep here because of the modern legs you added. I love the legs and think you did a great job converting the bases, but the traditional pulls just don’t go with that look at all. In my opinion. Professional quality workmanship though.
Totally, I feel it's a mix of new and old style, not for everyone. I did not replace the hardware because it would cost a lot of money and potentially reduce my ROI. I posted these for sale and sold them in less than 24 hours! Remember, 16 pieces of nice new hardware would cost at least $80, likely more. I am already in this project at $100 . I appreciate your opinions/thoughts and glad you enjoyed the video :) thanks so much for watching!
@@FurnitureFlippa So glad you sold it so soon! And I’m not surprised because the paint job was so high quality. Whoever bought it can replace the pulls if they want to. 😉
@@conniesisco6468 very true!!
Beautiful, love the color
Thanks Rhonda!
Amazing I love it. Thanks for the inspiration.
CLASSY
thanks mary!!
I used this fusion paint colour for my own nightstands. Turned out great!
Thanks Chris! The colour is quite unique, I like it!
Love love love the color....also love how you kindve went back to basics with some brushing ...thanks again for Remembering my requests ...you're awesome!👍😊
Love the legs you chose. Turns it from antique looking to modernish. Great job.
Thanks Teresa!
WOW! WOW ! ❤️❤️
They came out beautiful!!!
Glad you like them!!
Wow. They look great,,,
Wow gorgeous
I like this type of tutorials fast forward very fast but one thing I find satisfying is watching you scrap the paint off great tutorial
Glad you enjoyed the vid!
@@FurnitureFlippa I also subscribed thx it's very relaxing I paint but on canvas hasta luego
@@oreobenavidez953 I truly appreciate you subscribing, it means a lot. I have the sprayer and have sprayed paint, but the most therapeutic times are when I use a brush to apply the paint. Really relaxes the mind :)
Looks amazing mate. Well done.
Thank you Carrie!!
W😯W!!!!!! IT'S BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
YOU DID AN AWESOME JOB!!!!!
Am glad I found you as I like how you think!! Love the new look!!
Thanks Diane!! I am glad too!
😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲amazing!
Thank you!!!!
Lucky for you yo get this pieces for free! The colour is much better when it dries. Congrats!
Beautiful
Really nice!
This is awesome 😁 the legs made a huge difference!
Great job! I just got a dresser I wanted to cut off the bottom and put new feet on. Was going to look it up but coincidentally I was watching ur video and u happen to be doing just that so thanks🙏🏼. Great job!!
glad the vid helped! Thanks for watching :)
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Looks great! Love the color and the hardware really looks awesome with it.
Thank you Heather :)
Very nice!👍🏻
I do like the legs on it
Very cute! honestly didn’t think the modern style legs would work but it’s cool! Paint is nice …. And love your step stool… ie cans…been there and done that 😂
You are soooooooo amazing!!! Very professional!! I love it!!
Wow such a nice comment! Thank you so much :)
Great work! I haven’t tried Fusion yet but I need to now! The final finish looked so smooth!
Thank you! The coverage plus how easy it glides is awesome, highly recommend it!
Guauuuu , me encanta ... un color muy bonito 😊
gracias!! :)
Wow Amazing job , I love it 😀
Nice!
Yooooo that's clean
Beautiful.
Thanks Deborah!
@@FurnitureFlippa friend
Fantastic job! I had the same reaction to Fusion paint, lol. I love that color. And HI Charlie!
Thanks Sabby :) I couldn't believe it haha it did not feel like cheap hardware store paint LOL and Charlie says hi back 🐕
oh wow....
Stunning. 💕 🌻 (cheesy slow motion🤣🤣)
Thanks Rochelle :) glad you liked the cheesy slo mo 🤣
Great job! You could have fixed the broken drawer edge by fixing 3 screws and filling around screws with 2 pack filler and then sand back to shape of original wood.
Nice job
WOW!
You should get a snap and spray gun handle for the top of your spray paint cans. It saves your finger and gives you smooth layers. Pretty cheap too.
yeah I was struggling lol broke my hand multiple times and injured it recently, this was not helping. I am stubborn and still haven't picked one up haha thanks for reminding me!
Should get a Amazon wish list account Ppl will get you what you need
Looks amazing! I love what you did with new legs.. FYI a top coat is not necessary with fusion mineral paint. Once cured (21 days) it dries super hard. I have used Fusion for several years. It is pretty much the only paintvi use any more. The coverage is amazing and goes a long way.
nice tip! I usually top coat all paints just for extra durability. However, I noticed the fusion paint once I top-coated it was super durable, awesome paint!
You made the process of stripping look very easy
Very very nice
thank you so so much!
Your paint finish looks really nice and professional. I can’t believe you got these for free. I would ask $325 and hope to get $300 playing up the solid wood. If I may, the beige, natural tops and shelf look awesome with the black legs, a little boys room or guest room would be great for these, but I would have loved to see you redo the HW in black as well. Thumbs up.
Looks great! But I think it might look even better if the legs and hardware are of same colour
Nice, but would have sprayed the new legs gold to match hardware, or at least the paint color.
Love the color and love your videos!!! How long did you wait for paint to dry before you applied first coat of polyurethane? And how long did you wait between additional coats? Did you sand between poly coats?
You really need to get one of those spray handle sprayers for those cans they're not expensive and they last a while
That’s what I was thinking. Just used mine for the first time & love it!!
Ill get on it! haha thanks!
I read you sold your pieces quickly. Congrats!! Really love the paint color and new legs -- was wondering if you thought about spraying the hardware black to match the legs? Take care!
I thought about it but didn’t think I would like it! Thanks and thanks for watching!
Looks beautiful. More modern, sleek hardware would make it a knockout. Great job.
Thanks man! Modern hardware would have helped out for sure.
Nice!!!!! What a transformation. Curious on the dresser. What was the reasoning for not putting a 4th piece of wood on the bottom. I'm just curious because I'm learning. I'm loving that color!
Niiice! Good flip! A little question, what do you do if you have leftover of your spray varnish?
I still have 40% of my poly left, I will use it on a different project. Just pour it in the can and its good to go!
And thanks Christine for watching, much appreciated :)
I was surprised you didn't fill large cracks & crevasses, fix the broken drawer, & level them...ESPECIALLY the nightstand!
Sometimes I do sometimes I don't, it doesn't always make a difference on selling price so I won't waste my time doing so! Especially on a free piece.
Wow wish i could buy these off of u
Very nice Flippa! 😍 I really like that colour (🇬🇧). You're going to end up with a reputation for helping furniture get legless 😂
Thank you tequeena :) and i know hahah I swear the next project keeps its legs 😂
Can’t say I’m a fan of the legs but paint job fantastic
I didn't love the way they looked on the nightstand haha but it was too late.
Professional quality workmanship. I love the paint color. I do believe the unpainted wood needed a darker stain or even a dark paint color to give more contrast. The new legs are wrong for both pieces. In my opinion, I believe you should've left as is and just painted.
Appreciate the kind words on the workmanship. I understand your opinion on stain and legs, but a profit was still made! That is my main goal. Thanks for watching!
Very nice transformation except gold legs.
Thanks! I can’t get on board with gold legs, idk why! Lol 😂
Furniture Flippa, goes with the hardware.
@@jill552 very true, but in my eyes, the gold and black go well together. I guess it's personal preference
Men🙄
What exactly did you spray on the hardware? It looks really nice.
Does the fusion mineral paint need a top coat?
What a unique set now!
I like the black legs and i like the gold hardware maybe i would paint the legs the same color as the hardware or visa versa ... Not trying to say anything rude or hurtful just a little idea
You’re so awesome at what you do and seem like such a down to earth person. Do you resell these and where ?
Thanks for the kind words :) and I lived in Nova Scotia Canada but now I am out in Vancouver!
There's a cheap gadget that fits on the top of spray cans that makes spraying easy.
I need to grab one!! Like a mini spray gun, nice tip!
Loved it again. Where did you find those legs I need them?
Amazon! Aff link in description :)
Beautiful job, although I think that since you went with the more modern hairpin feet, the hardware should have also been replaced with something more modern, as well.
The legs and pulls are fighting each other. Black pulls in a more modern style would work, or a more traditional leg in wood or dipped in gold/brass.
Beautiful work though.
He looks like he could be in a movie
Good job! Just wondering as you had a wagner spray gun why you didn't use it to spray the paint on. Did you sell this piece? If so can you divulge your profit?
Warmest wishes to you.
I enjoy using a brush! I wanted to see how the paint applied since it was my first time using it. And using a spray gun wastes a lot of paint, I still have 50% left and can use it again.
For selling, I listed $400 for both and had a buyer in a couple hours settled on $350! Not bad for a pretty simple and quick free project.
I absolutely love the color and the restoration of the hardware. So nice and clean. Only, for my taste, the legs look out of place. Too modern for the hardware used.
You should have used wood putty to close up those spaces between where you at at the wood
Beautiful job, but I would have changed out the hardware
Hi Charlie! Good boy!
He says Hi back with a few barks lol :)
Lovely...200 to 300 at least
Please buy yourself a Rustoleum spray paint sprayer trigger. It will save your hand from cramping up while holding the button down. It was painful to watch. The pieces look great but I would have painted the new legs to match the hardware. I truly appreciate that you didn't use annoying background music in your video. It makes watching much more pleasant.
I do need one LOL my hand was hurting, but I broke a bone in my hand/wrist a couple times now and recently hurt it playing hockey. Everything was hurting, but the spray-can was definitely the worst haha But thanks for watching!!
Really pretty and great work. But, your Mother called me and told me she is upset because you didn’t use a mask while spray painting!
LOL
@@FurnitureFlippa but she still wants you to wear a mask!
Hi charlie!!
🥰🥰🥰🥰👍
I need a car like that
Not sure about legs but cupboards are beautiful
Why don’t you use a roller? Is there an advantage to a brush?
I find I can get a smoother result with a brush, and I find it relaxing 👍🏻
@@FurnitureFlippa thank you 🙏🏻 Your work is beautiful!
Hi Charlie!
He says hi 👋🏼🐶
