As evidenced in the relationship between Lucille Desiree Ball and Desiderio Alberto Arnaz III, I would say that it became well-known for the both of them felt as comfortable in order to shield away all harsh chapters entered into their lives. You should already have known that from the fact they became very protected of each other. And, perhaps more important that is referring back to how it played a fundamental role in moral support in which they had given each other when needed.

It is one of the saddest love stories I have heard. Desi knew he had messed up. His dying words were similar to that. Lucy answered, "No, I love you, I love you."

We can perhaps state that Lucille and Desi should have seek some form of counseling before divorcing. It is quite clear that their departure from each other have taken on some form of emotional toll.

Lucille Ball went to counseling and Desi came once for a several hour session - but did not want to return - felt he did not need it. Same when his son went into drug and alcohol counseling and asked his father to do the same - again said he did not need to. Finally, in the year before he died, he did go to some form of AA and both his children were there. Unfortunately it was too late - Desi was diagnosed with cancer and would be dead within a year or so.

Also, Lucy continued with counseling even after Desi went only once. Also, continued seeking support and advice from Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, who also married her and Gary.
